I do not take this channel seriously. Topics I like to cover and talk about are Drums/Knives & Shooting/Backpacking & Hiking/other.
Work Tuff Gear Asset
Some corrections I must point out
Overall length: 10.5"
Blade length: 5"
Weight with sheath: 14.6 Oz
It's a clip point Blade... not a drop point.

The Mora and Jääkäripuukko knives have what's called a scandi grind. I'm sure others will agree that it's the best type of grind for wood carving and bush crafting tasks. I feel that the downside to scandi grinds is how you need to sharpen them. Be sure to look up how to properly sharpen them or you can mess up the grind. Except for the throwing knives/stars and some of the Coldsteels all the k...

Here's the link to where I got my custom sheath 7rattlesbushcraft.com/ I will say this is not a beginner knife. You will learn fast where this knife has its pros and cons. I think those who will appreciate it will be those who like the larger style of wilderness blades. Once again I can not express enough how effective a dangler system is for larger knives. I think most people who are intereste...

I've ended drilling the kydex sheath to match the holes of the tek-lok. It's a much better fit and way more versatile to carry. The youtuber that I mentioned is WeAllJuggleKnives. I'm inclined to agree with just about everything he says in his review on this knife. For its thickness it cuts very well. it won't be the beat bushcraft knife, but I see this being a good out door blade. As for it be...

I forgot to mention the separate hip pad at the top of the couch. It was another brand that ended up not being as good at the Tactical Taylor version, but I wanted to show that there are other options to improve the ALICE system. Another thing about 1000 denier nylon that I don’t like is how the fabric makes annoying sounds as it roughs up against the metal frames. As a result I need to wrap th...

Please watch my next video on my three rucksacks so you can see the upgrades I did to it after making this video. When I said I do not recommend this pack, I was referring to those who are looking for any type of tactical style pack. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an external frame pack or who wants to experiment with the ALICE frame. Regardless how you carry your tactical gear, you...

I meant to say 90 degree angle not 45 degrees I ended up leaving the lanyard paracord on there. It helps I also take back what I said about it not being a good chopper. It chops really well. With the combination of the right sheath and set up, the heaviness of the knife is not as noticeable. I need to emphasize more about the edge. Since it has such a broad blade, it really aids in cutting powe...
Tasmanian Tiger Pathfinder, Deuter Aircontact, Gregory Stout 35, Spec Ops Recon Ruck, 5.11 Review

The packs mentioned are Tasmanian Tiger Pathfinder, Deuter Aircontact, Gregory Stout 35, 5.11 Rush 72, Spec Ops Recon Ruck, German Mountain Pack, 5.11 Rush 12. Review A funny note is that I've add a few more packs to the collection since I moved and now have more space. I've added a cheep ALICE pack along with a Tropical Light weight Rucksack by The Hidden Woodsman.
Get the Tactical Tailor straps and hip belt.
Alice pack frame with mollie 2 shoulder straps and kidney pad with both medium and large, also use it on 1606 frame as well
I carried one of these when I was working in security/ protection in Syria years ago. It's a great knife & an excellent defensive tool.
and I bet it got used more than mine has. How did you have yours set up?
You’re the first person I’ve seen that has the Tops MIL-Spie 5 besides myself! Good s@#t! ❤
Love this knife. Its my go-to camping knife
It looks like most of your custom sheaths are hangers. I love hangers. I don't use anything but hangers. Very nice collection.
Yeah once I realized how comfortable wearing bigger blades are with that system it was hangers all the way.
I've got SpecOps gear thats 30 years old. Just got off their site. They haven't changed anything. Except for dropping the S.O.P. buttpack instead of adding PALS webbing. And the site has a lot less items. I can't believe paying that much for what amounts to an Alice medium. SpecOps must have a doozie of a contract with the alphabet boys.
The only item I have from them is this pack. I've had this for over six hears and can't believe how much they've jumped in price. I thought $180 was a lot then compared to $240 now
Why did you stop making videos? I liked your enthusiasm.
Lol. I'll be making them again. I go in and out with it like any hobby
Those puukos look like Fallkniven ranger knives. Which are also excellent.
You can "move" the position of the buckles higher with an extra pair and accompanying short straps. Like a fat boy clip on the old pistol belts.
Cold steel kubon "soldier"
Nice choice's you have good taste like me. 😊
Did the side pouches on the pathfinder come with the ruck pack itself or you bought them separately and can you give the link for the pouches please?
The pack came with the pouches
Nice video and collection
Go ESEE 6 folks.
I just got myself an ESEE 6. After upgrading the handle scales and getting a custom Sheath I can easily see why it's one of the best outdoor blades ever designed
Meehh… tops, kabar, moras.
I actually just got a Work Tuff Gear Asset. Excellent medium size knife. Eventually I'll get another Work Tuff Gear one
You should check out the Raptor Tactical Palice plastic frame and Tactical Tailor super belt and straps. Would make it more comfortable and give it some flex.
Thanks for the info! Since making this video ive added a tactical taylor Malice frame... which made it heavier but more solid. been cautious about plastic frames like the 1606 since they can crack loosing structural strength. Also didn't want to get new straps and hip pads. The one you suggested seems to be a good alternative. Perhaps I'll check it out one day
no more sugar for you !
Funny thing is the designer of that knife did design it as a combat knife. Same with the hatchet…. Being an “outdoors man” in no way qualifies you to judge if a knife is sufficient for “tactical”. The ex marine scout that created it can though.
Then what would you classify a knife to be tactical? This knife is heavy for a lot of people. I also got a custom sheath for it since this sheath was too heavy and didn’t secure it well enough. If I was carrying a rifle, ammo and other gear I’d go for a stout 4-5” low profile blade that won’t get snagged on my rifle sling or hoping in and out of vehicles all day.
I carry it on my calf similar to a boot knife
Interesting. You don't find it to be too heavy given the weight?
You're a maniac, dude ! 😊👍
I have four Bucks knives all for deer hunting sometimes loaned out and a few crappy kitchen knives. One Cold Steel knife I use for almost anything in the kitchen though.
Great review very informative! Thank you for speeding through the knives and giving us as much info as possible in short time. Just stumbled across this video again and watching it for the second time, almost 50k views, NICE @The scharf channel
That srk is nice
Alice packs and original frame are authorized to jump for airborne operations, especially modded! Not the malice of tactical tailor. I and others still use Alice packs because they are very reliable and authorized
You would think the malice frame would be authorized too right? The Alice frame is lighter though. I recall seeing a documentary about the airborn in Afghanistan. I saw a guy running around with a alice pack, frame and all. I was impressed how they have the best technology and gear available and still rucking the old alice.
@thescharfchannel Pack:Alice Frame: The Alice/Malice pack frame must be "riveted", not welded together Straight out the memorandum of AUL for static line operations as of 27 January 2022
@@edgewisefirearms1667 interesting. Yet I've heard that rivites can come loose with use and that welding holds better. Thanks for the info
Calm down, you’re stressing me out 😂
Good Points. I just won a bid for a used one on ebay, I have a tac tailor frame straps and belt that I will mod mine with.
Hill people gear harness would work really good for the ALICE.
I'll check it out sometime
Hard knife to find
I hope they never stop making it.
Great collection man! Thanks for sharing!
You have a lot of TOPS Knives. I was wondering who buys that overpriced 1095... That green "Glock 78" looks fake. The flat part of that saber grind starts too low (probably that's why doesn't cut as well). You can check if it has a removable cap on the handle.
Ive heard the criticisms of TOPS and their 1095. For the price I pay and the outcome I get its worth it to me. Their heat treatment is what makes it good in my opinion. Three of my TOPS knives I’ve put through hell and have no disappointment. I also like how I can touch up the steel in the field and don’t need a crazy sharpener to do so. The green Glock knife has that removable cap. It’s an original. After I put the edge I want on it’s great.
@@thescharfchannel Glad to hear it. It's probably an older model.
The shoulder straps worked in conjunction with your lbe aka load bearing equipment. When wearing your lbe the straps didn't suck as bad. The kidney pad is just that, your ruck sets up high not on your waist where your lbe equipment is at. Hope this helps you out, put alot of miles on wearing this gear when I served in the 90s. Plus, duct tape is your friend.
Yeah it’s definitely not a slicer but for an apocalypse knife, I don’t think you can find better. Maybe the Skull crusher or Tom Brown tracker but YMMV
Well I agree with most of your assessment and thx for the video. But there is more things that should be add to your list. The through tunnels behind the outside pockets, Velcro on top of the pocket lids, molle acrossed the bottom of the pack, a zippered pocket sewn under the lid, and rows of molle sewn just above the 3 outside pockets.
KOBUN! Pronounced:"KOBOON",or:"KOBOUN"!
The alice pack with a good web gear butt pack is ok when humping less than 60 pounds.
That was awsome!
Nice blade and yes the star should not be illegal in the US at all. 🐊
Your brother knows his knives.
Of the entire collection, I prefer the ESSE-4 (from minute 1:05 of the video) for use in the kitchen in camp, and my Original Puma Bowie 6376 for forest and hunting tasks. Those two run the gamut of needs. Very nice collection, congratulations.
Thanks! Yeah the ESEE 4 sure has a good place in the outdoors.
@@thescharfchannel Yes, without a doubt, it is a small "tank"! How I wish to have it!
@@victorrossomano5025 update man. A few weeks ago I got the better larger G10 handle scales for the ESEE 4. Man what an upgrade. Highly recommended
@@thescharfchannel Thank you very much for that information!
Longhorn bowie vs prather war bowie? Which is your favourite and why?
Man that's a good question. If I had to pick it would be the Longhorn since I feel it's more well rounded for different tasks. The War bowie has its place for sure too. In the end... Longhorn is a bit more expensive and heavier, but will serve you well in the outdoors. War bowie is slightly less expensive, lighter and will impress the tactical guys in the field.
@@thescharfchannel Thank you for the reply and info, Best Regards
Nice
Awesome collection. a few cool Tops in there !
What pouch did you mount on the top of the recon ruck?
It's a utility pouch from Tactical Baby Gear. It's just something for me to put my keys/wallet/phone/etc. I took the water bottles off the sides though and replaced it with canteen pouches instead.
Spyderco will send you a clip free of charge if you ask them.
I need to show this to my wife 😅 then I can say see I don't have to many knives. 😂 Thanks 👍
Fuckin A
That's Pretty Neat....says the Roof Koreans ❤
The internal "hydration" pocket us for putting an internal frame in. If you buy it from their website it currently comes with the internal frame.
Thanks for the info. When I purchased it I don't think the internal frame was available at the time, other wise I would have bought it. After checked it out, I can see how it will help. The only issue I can see with it is that the pack will still lay flat against your back with no air ventilation. Perhaps if you're wearing a plate carrier or some other gear it wouldn't matter.
