- The Mora and Jääkäripuukko knives have what's called a scandi grind. I'm sure others will agree that it's the best type of grind for wood carving and bush crafting tasks. I feel that the downside to scandi grinds is how you need to sharpen them. Be sure to look up how to properly sharpen them or you can mess up the grind.
Except for the throwing knives/stars and some of the Coldsteels all the knives are made from types of high carbon steel. 1095 being the most common.
The tomahawks don't get used as much as they used to since I feel that a large blade is safer to use when splitting logs. A hatchet is a better choice for camp applications compared to a tomahawk. The two rifleman hawks I own I feel are too heavy for use in a all day chopping. I want to find a handle that's twice as long to make it a more comfortable two handed axe.
I love that these knives don’t look pristine. Well seasoned. 👍
I need to show this to my wife 😅 then I can say see I don't have to many knives. 😂 Thanks 👍
I have four Bucks knives all for deer hunting sometimes loaned out and a few crappy kitchen knives. One Cold Steel knife I use for almost anything in the kitchen though.
Great collection man! Thanks for sharing!
Love the collection! Nice work on the video breakdown, props!👍👊
I love knives, great video.
Beautiful collection
It looks like most of your custom sheaths are hangers. I love hangers. I don't use anything but hangers. Very nice collection.
Yeah once I realized how comfortable wearing bigger blades are with that system it was hangers all the way.
very cool collection dude
Nice video and collection
Good collection .
Very good collection, sir....
I love the Skrama knife
Those puukos look like Fallkniven ranger knives. Which are also excellent.
Awesome collection. a few cool Tops in there !
Great hard use collection, I love the Terava’s and have a bunch of them, also Tops and Esee’s, then several in fancy metals like Elmax and 3v.. but man, those Terava’s on a cold day are hard to beat.
About that awl thing.. the round chisel end is for sizing a handle into it for twisting the drill, *and* it creates wood pegs/dowels that should fit perfectly into the hole it drills. They’re crazy useful for shelter building after a bit of study on how to maximize its tricks.
Cool collection of fixed blades, money well spent ,🔪🔪⚔️🗡️🗡️📸
You're a maniac, dude ! 😊👍
Nice video.
Love the throwing stars in the 80's we used to throw them in Karate class against a board with free ice cream gift cards from Baskin Robins.
The terava is on my list to get I have a ratmandu as my outdoor knife mostly
Awesome!
what i like from American made, they always make every product the best SO we won't feel bad when we spend money for it ... this KNIFES you show are the example
You’re the first person I’ve seen that has the Tops MIL-Spie 5 besides myself! Good s@#t! ❤
Nice...have many of the same blades with similar favorites.
Don’t try “Convex” blades! You’ll get lost down thar rabbit hole...lol
@@dlrmon1 HA. I don't want anything in a convex grind because I'm not the best at sharpening in the first place. I do think it's the best grind out there though.
I like how you set your table. Remember, the shurikan goes on the left!
Nice choice's you have good taste like me. 😊
Nice stock brother
Nice blade and yes the star should not be illegal in the US at all. 🐊
Tex Creek XL is also my first choice👍🏻👍🏻😉
Nice
Your brother knows his knives.
That srk is nice
My wallet is danger watching this video...
Why algorithm, why do you tempt me?
Lol, but as for the glock knife part I would definitely try not to mess em up. They may discontinue them I think
From what I see, I bet your all time favorite, would be a famous knife you don't own yet! That's the TRC Mille Cuori !!!! I have most of the knives in that table and I've reprofiled them to perfection, keeping a strategy to not make them neither super fine, nor super thick (depending on the knife and it's indented purpose) None came close to neither my customs, or the Mille Cuori which is considered the best knife in it's category. Only issue is that they raised the price for some reason. But I still had to save for months to get it and it's the only knife I never regretted buying it. I did regret the Jaakari Puuko though, it came with the worst heat treatment and the worse finish on the grind, the edge lieteraly all the blade, was the worst piece of junk, I've ever seen. Mora Bushcraft Black, is cheaper, and outperforms it on both performance and quality.
Nice collection there, keep them sharp!!
Of the entire collection, I prefer the ESSE-4 (from minute 1:05 of the video) for use in the kitchen in camp, and my Original Puma Bowie 6376 for forest and hunting tasks. Those two run the gamut of needs.
Very nice collection, congratulations.
Thanks! Yeah the ESEE 4 sure has a good place in the outdoors.
@@thescharfchannel Yes, without a doubt, it is a small "tank"! How I wish to have it!
@@victorrossomano5025 update man. A few weeks ago I got the better larger G10 handle scales for the ESEE 4. Man what an upgrade. Highly recommended
@@thescharfchannel Thank you very much for that information!
No "WorkTuffGear" knives? Well brother if you've not checked them out or owned one yet then I highly encourage you to do so!

I only have two hands. I only need two knives
Cold steel kubon "soldier"
Muito top
1day my collection same
I have never seen such a video that just came out 3 wweeks ago but looks like it was filmed in 2007.
Also agreed with the Tops Tex Creek XL but I still prefer the Tops Silent Hero. Also when did they hold a poll between their products?
Edit: also I have a strong feeling you'd like some of Work Tuff Gears offerings. They make some VERY impressive knives you should take a look at
Yeah I was having phone issues, so I used my micro camera which is not the best for vids.
They had the vote on their Instagram page in Oct.
Getting a work tough gear blade is most certainly on my list one day.
That's Pretty Neat....says the Roof Koreans ❤
no more sugar for you !

Meehh… tops, kabar, moras.
I actually just got a Work Tuff Gear Asset. Excellent medium size knife. Eventually I'll get another Work Tuff Gear one
Not trying to be a dick, just pointing out the severity of my addiction...
I have AT LEAST...what? 300 or so fixed blades? 20 or so axes/tomahawks...probably the same number of swords, but really, probably more. A dozen spears...probably 200 or so folding knives.
I have a problem. That I love having.
Nice collection, Keep the videos coming, you might like mine too, I can’t stop collecting.
Коллекция не полная , Рэндалл ножа нет
huge fan of jaakaripuukko, i have the 110 the 85 and the 240 skrama. terava makes great stuff.
Why it's called fix blade
Unlike a folding knife where the blade moves, the blade is fixed to the handle.
KOBUN! Pronounced:"KOBOON",or:"KOBOUN"!
You have a lot of TOPS Knives. I was wondering who buys that overpriced 1095... That green "Glock 78" looks fake. The flat part of that saber grind starts too low (probably that's why doesn't cut as well). You can check if it has a removable cap on the handle.
Ive heard the criticisms of TOPS and their 1095. For the price I pay and the outcome I get its worth it to me. Their heat treatment is what makes it good in my opinion. Three of my TOPS knives I’ve put through hell and have no disappointment. I also like how I can touch up the steel in the field and don’t need a crazy sharpener to do so.
The green Glock knife has that removable cap. It’s an original. After I put the edge I want on it’s great.
@@thescharfchannel Glad to hear it. It's probably an older model.
Great collection!!!
You will probably enjoy some of my videos.
Just subbed.
Stop man....
Nice collection sir! I think with over 200 knives you an I have the same disease! Lol enjoyed!
My collection of high-end blades is literally 3 times the size of yours 🤣
Make a video of it
Here in commiefornia we can't have OR get ninja-throwing stars!! 🙄
So if I understand correctly you can have them, just not sell of purchase them in CA
@@thescharfchannel Ohhhh! I was going to say I NEVER see them. I do think they are cool though, and of course commiefornia would ban and outlaw something cool, for no real good reason of course.
I like that Ontario Marine bayonet but I just could really couldn't get a good Edge, they don't have a good geometry, but it's a hell of a good-looking knife, and you're right the sheath is hellacious good! Nice collection!
You're right about the grind. I spent a long time trying to get a good edge and I still haven't achieved it. I will try again with a different grind.
Yes they expect very hard impacts with these blades and therefore they (OKC, which is located 15min from my house) run the steel a good deal softer so that it holds up to what the intended purpose was not to mention they are a govt contract cranked out in large batches so the QC is a bit lacking on them as they kind of expect soldiers to modify/personalize and reprofile them but ask yourself this- will that thing lock onto your rifle and in a combat scenario say you run out of ammo because the standard load each soldier is issued is 180rnds so that could go quick in a battle then that bayonet becomes your primary weapon and it certainly will do its intended job and do it well...
@@kevinAuman1 oh yeah it'll definitely do that but as far as that goes I prefer the Vietnam era bayonets because those things take a Razor's Edge, they're really really good steel but they're not as good-looking or durable and heavy duty as the Ontario Knife Company Marine bayonet, but it's just a matter of personal preference. I had one I liked it too, it was a good-looking knife and I couldn't stand it until I bought it, but like a lot of knives, I have them for a while then I get bored of them and sell them, and buy something new... lol
I am from Norway, the land of scandy grind, but i much prefer a convex edge over a scandy. The scandy often bites to deep, the convex can bite as deep or shallow you want. And they are a much more robust edge,a scandy is the edge that is the most easy to hurt, but they are very easy to sharpen, the scandy i mean. But no prpblem to sharpen a convex eather. Most scandy knives today is to thick and the edge is grinded to low. Here we have 1000 years od tradition to make our knives with 3 layers. soft on the outside and hard carbon steel in the middle. The knife holds a very sharp edge for a long tome and wont break in the cold,we have colder climate and more snow than Sweden have.
Although I agree with how a convex grind is the best, I don't want to take the time to shaepen them.
@@thescharfchannel they are easy to sharpen, not much difference. And many ways to do it. But if you just strop often, and dont wait til things are super Dell, that goes a øong way. Because the edge type holds upp way longer than a scandy or a v edge. And a ceramic rod is king. You can do this a good while before you need a sharpening stone. And usin the sharpening stone is easy. Can use a small stone and just freehand it or a larger stone on a bench. Just move the blade upp and down, easy to see and feel what you do. But to each it's own. I use all kind of edges and knives and axes or machetes etc.
@@bushcraft_in_the_north we are in agreement on that brother to each is own I don't mind sharpening
