Fuel Injected 1983 CB1100F Prototype
After years in storage, Peter recently dug this mothballed project out of the garage and has resumed work on getting a reliable fuel injection system to work on one of his CB1100Fs. He's already resolved one of the issues he encountered years ago - excessive fuel pump current draw, and is now working on fine tuning the system. Considering that he just got back on the project, he's already made good progress. More updates to come as this gets closer to becoming reality.

Honda DOHC Motor Installation
Просмотров 501Год назад
This video shows the installation of a rebuilt Honda CB1100F engine back into the frame. It covers the basic details of what's involved in getting the engine back in place so that the three main motor mount bolts can be inserted. To someone who has never done the job, it may seem like a difficult job, but viewing this video will make it obvious how easy it actually is.
Motorcycle Wheel Bearing Removal and Replacement
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.3 года назад

Honda DOHC Engine Removal
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.3 года назад
If you have never removed the engine from one of the early 80's Honda DOHC inline fours, you will have no reservations about doing it yourself after watching my video. A minimum number of tools are needed and if you have a motorcycle jack, you're in business. Note that the bike I'm working on in this video is an '83 CB1100F. The procedure is identical for the 1981 and 1982 CB900F. The CB750 eng...

Motorcycle Brake Bleeding Procedure
Просмотров 23 тыс.10 лет назад
This how-to video shows a simple method for bleeding a totally dry brake system (front master cylinder and two calipers) from scratch in 15 minutes. The beauty of it is that no special tools are needed. The same procedure can be used on rear brakes as well and the technique applies to virtually any motorcycle's hydraulic brake system.
Dual Piston Caliper Disassembly and Rebuild Procedure
Просмотров 175 тыс.10 лет назад
This video explains how to disassemble and rebuild a dual piston caliper taken off of a 1982 Honda CB900F. This particular caliper is used on many models of the early 80's Hondas and is also quite similar to many of the calipers used on other motorcycles. The steps to rebuild these other calipers will be very similar.
Front Master Cylinder Disassembly and Rebuild Procedure

This video will show you how to disassemble and rebuild a motorcycle's front master cylinder with some very basic tools. While this was done on a master cylinder from a 1983 Honda CB1100F, the procedure will be very similar for many other motorcycles.

I have a drive way full of bikes I bought each family member through the last 50 years; and ended up with each of them back when they could get them running again; a new guy moved in across the street and cannot get that steel spacer tube pressed back inside; after installing the spring and washer. I do not remember ever having the same issue when changing out different length front fork tubes to adjust handling / cornering; but it has been 1 1/2 to over 2 decades since I have done this task. Any Idea why he is having this problem; I gave him four different shop service manuals for various bikes; but figured the shop service manuals I had for my track bike; a 2009 Buell 1125R to get a general idea. His steel tubes like the one you put in during this video; is a good 8 - 10" long, and no matter how hard or how big of a guy tries; it still sticks out a good 4 - 6", and there is no chance of putting the top cap nut on it; something isn't right; however, I have never owned a 2001 Yamaha V-Star 650cc bike before. Addendum: It has been since 1986 when I replaced my front tube's with 4" over forks on my 1st new HD 1100cc Sportster Custom while stationed in Germany; and 15 years since I put 2" over front fork tube on my second new 1999 HD Softail Night Train, ( Which I still ride today ), when not toting around ole girl on a 2011 HD Road Glide Ultra. Any insights would be appreciated; the good new story is; I told him; it is only difficult the first time .. lol, like most every thing.

Like Jerry W Davis mentions (2 years ago) how to do you properly remove the caliper from the bike? and how to do so without spilling brake fluid everywhere?

    • @tomscyclerecycling8242
      @tomscyclerecycling8242 Год назад

It's best to use a syringe to empty the master cylinder of all the fluid and with the bleeders open (and a clear tube over the bleeder going into a jar) pump out the remaining fluid that's in the lines and calipers. Then carefully loosen the banjo bolt and have a rag ready to wrap around the brake hose. It's going to want to drip, so use a piece of duct tape to hold the rag around the banjo fitting. Up above, make sure to have a damp towel covering the tank and anything else that you might accidently drip fluid on when you drain the master cylinder.
