  • This video shows the installation of a rebuilt Honda CB1100F engine back into the frame. It covers the basic details of what's involved in getting the engine back in place so that the three main motor mount bolts can be inserted. To someone who has never done the job, it may seem like a difficult job, but viewing this video will make it obvious how easy it actually is.

Thank you for showing us this Tom! - a sturdy jack on wheels with a special adapter and having a second set of hands surely makes this job a lot more managable 👍 I also made a special adaptor plate for my jack last time I installed the engine in my CB1000C. Next week my son and I are installing the engine in his CB750F 😊
BTW your bike builds are work of arts!!!

Tom you need to do more videos. Too bad you didn't make one on the engine rebuild. Would have made a nice series of videos.

Hi Chris. Now that I'm retired, I plan to get more videos done much sooner. An engine rebuild video is a distinct possibility in the future, so stay tuned!

Is this the same cb1100 that you removed the engine? I would love a detail breakdown of mods on the bike

Yes it is. Mods included an 1123 big bore kit in the rebuilt engine, 2012 CBR600RR swingarm, 1992 VFR750F forks and calipers, new custom wiring harness, GPS speedo, digital tach, relocated battery box, new seat, superbike bars, and much more. It's a very fun bike to ride now.

Love them ol bike's. Wondering if the juice is worth the squeeze?

Absolutely worth it. 10 minutes on one of my 1123 resto-mods and you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face.

@@tomscyclerecycling8242 I am a believer. So what would be the top end on one of your rocket ships? My ZX1100 does 176 at least that's when I let off of her. Not sure if she had more but I was getting close to town and didn't wanna go to jail.

@@rickyhaycraft2513 I have no idea. It's been to 120 with lots of throttle left, but that was as fast as I dare go in this neck of the woods.
