    1.) Make sure you reinstall the fork the same orientation as when you removed it !!! So as I learned the hard way; those forks or whatever they’re called are NOT symmetrical. They appear to be the same size but they are indeed different !! My car wouldn’t start either and I thought I could simply pull the distributor back out and turn the rotor 180°, but to my chagrin the distributor wouldn’t go back in. So I had to push out the pin again and rotate the FoRK 180°, (only the fork), push the pin back in, reinstall the distributor, and VioLá😃, it started right up !! Also; 2.) Save a lot of time and hassle pulling out and pushing the pin in with a Harbor Freight, Heavy duty chain breaker for $15. 3.) There’s no need to remove al the electrical stuff inside the distributor. There’s only 2 screws which are easily accessible that hold the shaft in place. 4.) You’ll probably need to buy an entirely new distributor CaP in order to get a new gasket.

    good vid...thanks. Question, I have to assume that his transmission locked up because all of his trans fluid leaked out. From the seal. Is that what happened you think? Mine are leaking but nothing dripping on ground. Want to change them but it's winter now. Think I'm okay for a FEW MONTHS? THANK YOU

    • @ktecgarage
      @ktecgarage 9 дней назад

      No. He likes to "enjoy" his 5 speed so he grenaded one of his gear sets. The leaking happened after we swapped out the transmission. I would not trust the fluid level if it's leaking. I'd check it frequently and add as necessary until I could fix the leak. Especially if it is an automatic.

    😂We just snapped a cam shaft behind the timing pully. Did a refreshing and put a "mystery" head on it. It was tight to turn and snappy. Freshly machined and very clean. So it was sent. Car ran very well for a few heat cycles until it sheared the timing pulley key. Put a different one on, (blahblah) and fired it up. Ran for about 1 min and sheared the pulley key AGAIN. 😂😂😂 We WELDED that mofo and sent it with no fire to the system. SNAP. First crank😂 Guess you f around, you find out. Have fun yall. Life is short. Many times, expensive😂

    • @lawofliberty3517
      @lawofliberty3517 18 дней назад

      Well. Got that problem solved with a different head. THE FOOKN GEAR SHEARED AGAIN, WITH A DIFFERENT HEAD. At that point only new piston rings have been done. The original head is sitting on it with a sheared gear. The fook? It locked the head up this time. So. Off it comes and back to total square 1. Still have hope cause it ran very well, until it just didn't 😂

    I had a cat that was deficient. I bought the "universal" non-fouler that's long, not short. Meaning I didn't have to drill out two short ones and put the together. The O2 sensor threaded into the universal non-fouler, then threaded it into the exhaust pipe. The CE light never came back on and it did run a lot better but not as well as it should. It was only an experiment. I tried one on the side that with the good cat and it made that side run so lean, it discolored the cat heat shield. I installed a new exhaust system with two new cats and it now runs like a champ.

    Rather than just condemn something because "you" don't think it will work, it would be more informative if you showed the live data from the downstream sensor before and after installing the spacer, to back up your claims. As you probably know, a bad convertor will typically register crossover counts similar to the upstream sensor, indicating a failed convertor. In theory, installing the spacer moves the sensor out of the direct exhaust stream, and exhaust gases then tend to pool around the sensor, which buffers the readings.

      @ktecgarage That's what I tried, it seated well but didn't start and made a bang sound as perhaps due to un- burnt fuel. So I shifted 180 deg but now it doesnt fit/seat. Will try again in the morning.

    • @ktecgarage
      @ktecgarage Месяц назад

      @ExcelTimeSavers Turn the engine to top dead center using the marks on the crank balancer. Reinstall the distributor with the rotor pointed at the 11 o'clock position. This will ensure it's in the proper position. If it goes partially in, wiggle the rotor while pushing. If you got it in 180 out, it may have damaged the distributor. Inspect the part that fits into the cam and the end of the cam for any damage. Good luck.
