My Prelude SH just turned 334,000 miles. Car drives And handles like new, tho. Because I have replaced lots of parts with new parts by now lol. Like a complete suspension overhaul for example.
It does burn oil during vtec engagement, or constant cruising ar 5,000 rpms, for prolonged period of time or spirited driving. I have 0 fluid leaks though! I have replaced literally every single seal there is to replace.
The only thing I haven’t fixed, is the inner axle cup is stuck to the atts, and the only way to fix it, is to just get a new atts. I’ll do it when I find a spare sh block to build. And swap that in.

Honda makes some solid motors so long as you keep them oiled and don't beat on them too hard. Congratulations!

Oh I drive this car very hard. I do check oil levels daily and change and service all fluids according to severe maintenance schedule though.

I'd love to find an H22 Prelude. Those are hard to come by.

Awesome ktec!! Your video is my holy Bible to my f23a build.. I tried to build my first motor on my own and I did three things wrong.. I mixed up my rod caps, I installed my rods backwards..tangs facing the intake side smh.. and I was running k20a2 rsx type s pistons for more power and torque.. the power was great but it didn't last long.. about 70 miles 😆 🤣 my ringlands detonated from low octane and high compression=pinging 😥 😔 and my bearings failed due to my rods and caps being installed wrong.. and my rod bolts were loose as a goose when I disassembled the motor.. but now I'm rebuilding my other jdm f23a block and pairing it with my f22a head should be a good combo for torque and power since the compression should shoot up a bit. I have a brand new set of k20 pistons but won't install that til I get on e85 or some kind of race fuel or good tune.. but I've been following along while I build my bottom end with your videos I got my f22a head fully cleaned and assembled so fingers crossed the car runs reliably this time around 😆 🤣 keep the accord updates coming!!

That's quite the journey! My first engine rebuild at age 17, I got the timing 180 degrees off on a 302CI and bent every valve on both heads when I tired to start it.
I have heard that you can install the rods backwards on purpose for some type of application, but I forgot what it was for.
Hope you get your build running right!

@@ktecgarage thank you for the kind words! Yes hopefully it will be up and running soon and reliably. I know what I did wrong at least, so this time around should hardly be any issues besides getting it timed correctly. And yes I did install those pistons reversed since the offset wrist pins are a counterclockwise k series engine, so the intake would be on the exhaust side, as I did.. but the problem was.. the rods were backwards 😆 I had the tangs facing the intake side since I didn't take into consideration that the rods would be facing the wrong way if I installed the pistons while connected to the rods reversed.. lol.. I should of installed them with the rod tangs facing the exhaust side then flip my pistons around so the intake is on the exhaust side on the valve reliefs but instead I mucked it up.. and the caps.. wouldn't believe the carnage when I disassembled the engine.. all bearings were just chewed to hell and the crankshaft was scarred and damaged on every journal.. 😆 I definitely learned from this mistake though.. thanks a bunch, your tips and videos really help people like me get back on the road and not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money by getting a rebuilt basically newer engine in my car and running properly with the confidence of doing the work yourself, and know it will run right for a while to come. Thanks again brother!!
