Let me ask you this then. Which denominations can you name reject the Nicene Creed? For the vast majority do accept it. I am not aware of any major denomination that does not. What is the creed really except an effort by the Roman Empire in the fourth century to unify the Christian world from it's varied opinions through force when necessary. It was decided on through rigorous debate and then voted on by popular opinion of three hundred hand picked men. Then after that, severe penalties or repercussions followed anyone who dared disagree with it. It is just a medieval relic of the ancient Roman Empire. It is merely a consensus of popular opinion. That is all it is. Even today people are labeled as heretics if they disagree with it. Only because it disagrees with popular opinion. And why do modern Christians still believe in it? Because it is tradition. Because that is the way it has always been taught for 1700 years. That's why. And yet if it is wrong, then all of modern Christianity is also wrong. And you seem to have a problem with that statement.

In Hebrews Chapter 1 it describes in the pre existence how Jesus, being made so much better than all the other angels, was chosen by the Father to be His only Begotten. We are all the sons and daughters of God. We are all His creations. But there is only one chosen to be His Only Begotten Son.

Yeah. That is what they believe based not on what the Bible says, but what they have themselves interpreted for everyone else what the Bible says. But it is totally illogical that all of these infinite planets capable of holding life were created just to look at? It defies common sense. It is just like the Nicene Creed. Every modern Christian church in the world lives by various interpretations of the creed. But what is it really? A group of men met in the fourth century under the authority of the old Roman Empire, and after much debate they supposedly reached a consensus. And then forever more, everyone one earth is expected to abide by the officially sanctioned interpretation of the Bible according to popular opinion reached by consensus of the empire or be condemned as a heretic. There is no love in that. It is nothing more than a relic of the ancient Pagan Empire. Today, according to the politicians, the "scientists" of the world have met and reached a consensus about climate change, and a host of other issues, and anyone who dares disagree should be "canceled" as a heretic. Nothing ever changes among the wicked.

Unfortunately that is true. With 94 % of the American people in favor of a-b-rt--n rights and some 99.9% of the membership of the church. There is not going to be any miracles beyond what you see among any people until things change for the better. "...And the was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every whit from his iniquity." 3rd Ne. 8:1 Our test in this life is to overcome our sins and our sinful nature, not to waste away our days of probation accepting and promoting iniquity of every kind. Jesus promised these gifts to everyone who sincerely believes, repents and is baptized. Jesus promised them. It is a promise from God. The fact these gifts do not exist right now shows things are terribly wrong. We are living in the dark ages all over again.

​@smallhelmonabigship3524 I completely agree. I have a huge desire to witness these kinds of miracles. But I sin in my desire. Shouldn't the witness of the Holy Ghost be enough. Or am I seeking signs. Jesus promised those things to them that beleive. That tells me where my belief and faith are at.

But the Scriptures say the inhabitants of the celestial kingdom contain the spirits of just men made perfect. If we want those gifts to return we must forsake our sins, and strive to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Putting our trust in God and not any man, no matter who that man is, for cursed is he which putteth his trust in man. Pray to God to deliver our minds and hearts from the bondage of our sins. I speak of myself as well as everyone else.

So unless the Abijah that David assigned to the 8th priestly order lived to be at least 455 years old, the Abijah in the book of Nehemiah was a different person.

Ancient historian researcher, Dr. Richard Carrier and Dr. Robert Price do _not_ believe Jesus existed. Most other historians don't accept that the Gospels are historically accurate portrayals or that he worked miracles, was born of a virgin and rose from the dead. As far as I am concerned, if you do not believe in the Gospel Jesus, then you do not believe Jesus existed. Who cares about a long-dead apocalyptic Jewish preacher who falsely taught that the End of the Age would occur in the generation of his listeners (Mat. 16:28). If the miracle-working Gospel Jesus did not exist, but is largely mythical, then Jesus didn't exist. I do not believe in the Gospel Jesus, therefore I do not believe that Jesus existed.

I did not know that. Thank you. It is always amazing and fascinating to me how intertwined the Bible is with the geography, culture and historical events of the region. Far too often when I read these things I gloss over the little intriguing facts like this. I wish I had more time to do a deep study of the entire Scriptures. Judea was first a Greek then Roman province, with a healthy influx of both of those populations. Those languages were the official languages of government and business. And many natives of the area used names in Greek, even of Hebrew origins. I believe fully that Jesus spoke every language. I was reading an article which suggested that Clement of Alexandria maintained that Jesus was not merely a transliteration into Greek. The Greek spelling really was the name He was known by in Judea. But I could not personally find the connection so I did not include it in the video. Also, if you have ever read the Gospel of St. Thomas, If I remember it right, a Rabbi was attempting to teach Jesus in His youth the Greek letters. Jesus responded to the Rabbi that he could not teach Him Alpha and Omega until the Rabbi first understood them.

@@smallhelmonabigship3524 Clement of Alexandria was probably right. Iēsous sounds fairly similar to Yeheshua verbally (in their original native tongues). The main differences are in the vowel emphasis, and consonants used. It is similar to how the Early Christian Fathers (such as Origen) wrote the Tetragrammaton as Ἰαώ, which sounds very similar to Yahweh. I know of some who have contended that God's name was not pronounced as "Yahweh" by the Hebrews, but the early Christians seemed to think it was pronounced that way. One book you may be interested in, which shows the overlap between the Greek and Hebrew cultures, is "The Common Background of Greek and Hebrew Civilizations" by Cyrus H. Gordon, a renowned Jewish scholar (who was also incidentally the first world-class scholar that gave credence to the Book of Mormon, contending that the Bat Creek Stone was evidence of ancient Phoenician contact in North America).

Where does Jesus quote the Septuagint? I always thought in those days Greek was the purview of the well-educated, and Jesus was a commoner.

@@James-re6co The Septuagint is basically the old Testament translated into Greek, which is referred to extensively throughout the four Gospels. To say Jesus was unwilling or incapable of speaking Greek, or of speaking in tongues of any kind would be a mistake. In Matthew Chapter 12, the Savior quotes from Isaiah chapter 42. Matthew 12:21 says "21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust." The early Church fathers used to teach that Jesus is the hope of the Gentiles.

I believe you. Think not that small things such as your experience do not matter. As the Scriptures say, a great ship is benefited much by a small helm in time of a storm. Sometimes, big things come of it. I might also add that David Patten Kimball's spiritual experience here, started a chain of interesting events. Heber C. Kimball told his son that in addition to giving him four names who would pass away, that his family would also be brought together from their scattered condition. Within a few years after this the family held a reunion which started the Kimball Family Association. Thanks to an exhaustive genealogical research performed on the Kimball family over the whole nation, they baptized over ten thousand names in the newly completed Salt Lake Temple. To my knowledge, this extensive effort was a major influence on starting the current genoalogical department in the Church.

Yes. And we are going to see a re -igniting of that very faith all across the land, once the children of the Lamanites and the Nephites awake to their true heritage of who their ancestors really are. For fifty years now the people of this church have preached to take the life of their own children in cases of r-p-, incest, health of the mother, fetal deformities, etc. Take incest for example. It is the idea that because two parents are related, the baby should be destroyed, so it does not grow up and corrupt the gene pool. It is purely a eugenics argument. The eugenics movement was directly responsible for some of the worst atrocities of the 20th century. It is a doctrine of devils, and the people of this church have been deceived into aligning themselves with it, thinking it is a godly doctrine. Eugenics was once taught in public school (still is), and generations of tens of millions of Americans in every state grew up believing the lies all the days of their lives. There is a video put out by the American Life League titled, baby steps 4D ultrasound. In this short 5 minute video, (which nobody wants to watch) the child in the womb can be seen doing everything a new born would do. He sucks his thumb, he yawns, he smiles, he is startled by loud noises. Have you ever held a newborn in your arms and said, I must destroy this "thing"? Of course not! Perish the thought! But that is exactly what 94% of the American public, and 99% of the people of this church believe for this same baby in the womb. They they should destroy this "thing." They are taught in school that it is a lifeless clump of cells that can be removed. Like a cancer. That is what members of this church have told me. That it resembles a tadpole like a frog. These are all lies. Yet, that is what people choose to believe. They refuse to follow the teachings of the original church leaders to take this innocent life which has given no offense is a grevious sin.

I have definitely heard individual members of the church say these things, but I've never heard it said from the pulpit. Have you heard of Sarah Hinze? She has a book called Castaways that you should read. There are some powerful stories in it about abortion. One is about a man (not of our faith) who had a near-death experience where he met the children he had pressured his different girlfriends to abort. I've never thought of abortion the same way after reading that book.

Well, look at it this way. In Washington DC the other day there was a riot in which the American flag was torn off it's pole and burned and the Palestinian flag was raised. The police that tried to intervene were chased off. All summer long they have been rioting chanting from the River to the Sea. How do you contend with such irrational hatred? I don't know how things are in Australia, but very similar thing exists throughout the big cities and universities throughout the United States. They say Trump is H-itl-r, and all of his supporters are a "threat to democracy." White people everywhere owe reparations for slavery. There is no doubt the Israeli government is as corrupt as all the others on earth. The majority of all the wars fought for the last one thousand years have been engineered by the powers that be so they can both profit by them, and get rid of the young men in their nations, whom they perceive as a threat to their power. But with all things considered the people of the middle east could have and should have welcomed their long lost Jewish brothers back to their home with open arms instead of hating them and persecuting them. When Joseph Smith sent Apostle Orson Hyde on a mission to Palestine to dedicate the land to the return of the Jews, he described Palestine as an empty uninhabitable desert. Jerusalem had barely 7,000 people living there and a significant number of them were Jews. About 1/3. Also a significant number of Christians. The Jews didn't displace anybody. Many of the Palestinians emigrated there from Egypt and Jordan after the Jews started emigrating there in mass. After the Lord began blessing the land with more rainfall, making it fertile and productive again. Orson Hyde financed his mission by asking for money from Jews living in the United States. The Book of Mormon prophesies correctly that God would bless the Gentile nations for reestablishing the Jews in their homeland. The revelations to Harry Baker correctly prophesies also that: "2. For lo, I the Lord, remove the curse which has rested upon Judah, now these many generations; even the curse of blindness, and that bitter curse of the hatred of men. Which blindness fell upon their fathers, because they rejected their Messiah, for whom they were looking... "6. Wherefore, I will bring them into their own country, even into the land of Judea; for I will gather a host of them, saith the Lord, to the land of their fathers; and there will I plant them, and make of them a strong nation as in days of old. 7. And now I speak unto all peoples, and say unto every man, that I will send a swift judgment upon that house or that nation which brings distress upon the scattered sheep of Judah; for I have set my hand to deliver them, and to keep the covenants which I made with their fathers. Take counsel therefore, you that have done this thing hitherto." We need to be very very careful for the sake of our salvation that we do not kindle the anger of God against us, for He truly set His hand to deliver them. Going back to this 1846 prophecy I read in the video which is either from Joseph Smith or Orson Pratt, the conditions of Christ's second coming are that the Jews must be established again in Israel, and they must be surrounded by and almost destroyed by the surrounding nations. so far, what we have seen fulfills that prophecy to the letter. Which to me is amazing.

I will attempt to shed some light on the matter. We all share the same spiritual Father with Jesus, he was therefore our brother in our first estate (he being the first born). Jesus taught that we were his brothers and sisters when he said to Mary “I ascend unto MY Father, and YOUR Father; and to my God, and your God” (John 20: 17). He also shared this truth when he taught his disciples how to pray, beginning with the words “OUR Father which art in heaven” (Matthew 6: 9) Jesus being the eldest, and possessing a fullness of the Father (he being one with the Father) is greater than us all, and has been set as the head over all things by the Father. Therefore, Jesus is Lord. Jesus is our Father by adoption and by the resurrection. Those who obey the Gospel and enter into the covenant become the children of Christ. As Adam is the Father of mortality, or to put it another way - he is responsible for our mortal condition - Jesus is the Father of immortality.

@Bornintocaptivity - You are extremely arrogant in your arrogant hateful comments. You quote the Book of Mormon but surely you can't be LDS with your outrageous claim. Here are several places that contradict your allegation: Romans, 8:29: "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." Hebrews 2:11-18 King James Version (KJV): "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, In the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him." Mark 3, 34-35: "34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother." Hebrews 2:17 "Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people."

Its interesting that all of your scriptures you quote is when Jesus is talking. He can call us whatever he wants. I don’t recall any scriptures where Alma calls Jesus his brother, or when Moses calls Jesus his brother, or any holy prophet for that matter. Matter a fact after the twelve disciples received their baptism of fire with the Holy Ghost in 3 Nephi they started to pray toJesus calling Him their Lord and their God. I wonder what the angels showed them that made them understand who Jesus is? You might want to work on receiving your baptism of fire with the Holy Ghost so you can see what they saw. But you will need to become lowly in heart and like a little child and open your ears that you may hear and your eyes that you may see and let go of the Pharisee that is in you. It’s amazing what God will teach you when you are humble and willing to listen to Him instead of the teachings of men. Adulterous men at that.

The people destined to travel the stars and become joint heirs with Jesus Christ of the fullness of all of God's creations in the universe are the spirits of just men made perfect.

Mormonism as revealed to Joseph Smith and the original Apostles is one and the same as the kingdom of God. Apostle Orson Pratt was referring Mormonism to the discipline and oneness of the Godhead which is all knowledge, without beginning of days nor end of years.
