Brother I enjoy your videos immensely... I'm a convert to the Church. I always enjoy learning more about the early scriptures that were made before the great apostasy. As well as the things that came from early Church converts like Joseph Smith Jr and those that wrote down all of the prophecies whether by their own mouth or by the mouth of one of the leaders. Thank you for all of your videos!
Thank you! I think we will be astonished to learn one day how harmonic and consistent each of the dispensations are. For us, they have been lost to history. But if we lived in those times, we would marvel at the consistency of it all.
Thank you again for sharing more precious pearls of knowledge. God bless you and the work you do!
Probably the main reason I created the video is because a Pastor brought up some interesting points I wanted to address. He has a channel titled "Hello Saints." He recently produced a video where he read through First Nephi and commented on the troubles he has with it.
ruclips.net/video/1ltG4WcpBMs/видео.html
At about the three minute and twenty second mark in the video he talks about how Nephi took the life of Laban., He says he can't think of any place in the Old Testament where an angel commanded a person to do that, as what Nephi did to Laban. This may be a sensitive and uncomfortable topic, but since this Pastor brought it up, how do the modern Churches feel about the commands of God in Genesis 9:6? What do any of you think about what the sons of Jacob did to the city of Hamor in Genesis 34? The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs gives us more detail as to what took place.
As to any of you who claims the Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs is not a part of the Bible, well it was included in some ancient Bibles. Just because it was taken out or never included in Western Bibles by men who did not like it, does not lessen the fact that it was once accepted by the first Christians.
Why also was Levi and his descendants after this made the priests of Israel until the coming of the Messiah? If Levi did this to the city of Hamor?
This Pastor then goes on further. At about the five minute thirty mark, he talks about the prophecies of the Messiah in the Book of Mormon. He complained that the prophecies in 1st Nephi are so specific, there is nothing like that in the Old Testament. For anyone interested, I hope some of you will watch my video to see Levi's specific prophecies concerning the Messiah. About how Levi's descendants will crucify the Savior and the veil of the Temple shall be rent and then they shall be scattered among the nations and come almost to naught until the Lord in His mercy shall redeem them.
That pastor your speaking of is an apostate member of the church. He pretends to be interested in the Book of Mormon, but sits on a teeter totter teasing people. I learned this from another RUclipsr who exposed him. Wolves in sheep clothing, getting lots of views for money, and deceiving many along the way.
@@garysanders8740 It will be interesting to see where this pastor ultimately ends up, or where his true motives lie. He did mention in one of his videos his anti-Mormon past and said he has changed.
This pastor most probably does not realize that the Book of Mormon is sacred. If he is reading it, it will dominate his destiny for the rest of his life, either good or bad. He will never be able to let go of it. It will either save or damn a person. Anyone who tries to undermine it or discredit it, will learn one day to their great astonishment, that they are fighting God. And that is never a winning fight. If he rejects it, he will also lose interest in the Bible.
@@smallhelmonabigship3524 that is a prophecy- what you just said.
@@garysanders8740 It is just a hunch. Based on what the Book of Mormon says. That is all I was thinking. Those who say a Bible! a Bible! We have got a Bible! And there can not be any more Bible! God says to those who receive, He will give more and more until they shall know more, or even know all.
To those who say they have enough, God will take away even that which they have.
Benjamin Brown wrote in his testimony that he loved the Bible up to the point he read the Book of Mormon and initially rejected it. After that, reading the Bible became unpalatable to him until he rejected the Bible too. It was just like God took the Bible away from him true to His promise. Benjamin Brown traveled in spiritual darkness for a long time until he finally accepted both.
If the intentions of this pastor are dishonorable, God will see to it that he betrays himself with his own words. He won't be able to help himself. It will be inevitable. That is the only reason I wrote that. Because those examples came to my mind.
I think that some prophecy is simply the ability to predict a future based upon the characters of two people (in the case the pastor and the Lord). It is easy to know what is coming when you look with a clear mind and indiscriminant soul.
I just wanted to say, I watched a video of a woman debacing the Book of Mormon based off of a pastor that was questioning LDS theology (she says she did her own research too, but I'm withholding belief of that). It truly annoys me when people try to disprove the Book of Mormon by comparing the Bible, when it is easy to see they are so similar AND given the timeframe of the translation (3 month) there was no time he came up with it himself.
Thank you for another amazing video. I'm only at the 16-minute mark (and will finish tomorrow...) because I wanted to write every word of the back history you've given of your subject. That took more than an hour. It's all so new and exciting to me. I do have a great atlas titled Atlas of Past Times. It's by John Haywood. Lots of history is in the pages of the book, but none of this was mentioned. I feel very blessed to be learning this. I also googled to find a PDF of this new treasure you've introduced to us, the Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words. In the future, if you want me to email you the text, you can send me an email so you do not have to write it out. smallhelm@proton.me
@@smallhelmonabigship3524 Oh. Wow. Thank you.
This is Beautiful scripture! It's very recognizable from both Bible and The Book of Mormon. And it's bright and clarifying.
I have always been interested in the Azerbaijan/Armenian region. The Armenians had a genocide that took place in the early 1900's where they lost over 1,000,000 people. Turkey was the perpetrator. Armenia is an ancient
Christian nation and is surrounded by Muslim countries. Currently trouble is heating up again against the Armenians from Azerbaijan.
I love these beautiful lost words and will research more into it. THANKYOU ✨
Yes, Thank you. The Armenians seem to have always been the victims of persecution an genocide by their neighbors which have greatly reduced their numbers. First by the Persians and the Romans, then by the Arab Muslims and by the Byzantine Empire, then by the Ottoman Turks. Then they suffered greatly under the tyranny of the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin.
They weren't the only ones. Prior to the Iraq war in 2003, there existed a 2,000 year old community of Christians numbering over one million. They described life under Saddam Hussein as tolerable. In the 20 years since that war, that community has all but disappeared. They were slaughtered or driven into exile. The Coptic Christians in Alexandria Egypt, have likewise suffered terrible persecution there. All of the Oriental Orthodox Christian Churches have similar tales of persecution and woe throughout their histories.
Thankyou for your lengthy reply. Are he Armenians for sure gentiles or perhaps a Diaspora of ancient Jews? I realize they are Christian, but maybe they have Jewish tie ins. Who were they originally?
@@sherigraham3873 I have wondered that myself. Much of modern nation of Armenia was a part of the ancient Assyrian Empire. They were the ones who removed the northern kingdom of Israel from their homeland and brought in other peoples to live in their homes. The ten tribes were then lost to history. Could it be that a remnant were resettled in Armenia? Only heaven knows.
Thankyou so much for your generous reply! And thankyou for not taking light my question! Or demeaning. You are an amazing scholar and I listen to your content over and over because it takes deep thought and came from an inquiring mind!! Like mine, in a lesser degree. So just consider that when you have 1000 views, 10 are mine!
@@sherigraham3873 Thank you for your kind reply. I felt that your comments were thought provoking and I appreciate that because I often learn more from the perspective of others, than they learn from me. After your comment, I read a little about the Assyrian empire that took the ten tribes away captive. According to modern scholars, the Assyrians used to speak a language called Akkadian. It was an old Semitic language. About the time the ten tribes became lost, the scholars say there was a large migration into Assyria who they call Arameans, who came from the area of what was known in the Bible to be the northern kingdom of Israel. By about the fifth century BC the Akkadian language had died out and the people in Assyria were speaking primarily Aramaic, the language of the Arameans. Aramaic was also the predominant language spoken in Judea during the time of the Savior.
So there you go. There could be a case to be made for what happened to at least a portion of the ten lost tribes. Of course these scholars write as if the Bible doesn't exist, but it is interesting to read their perspective.
Beautiful presentation. Keep up your wonderful work.
Thank you. That is a kind compliment.
Thank once again, your work is very great. I love it. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Your words of encouragement are always appreciated.
I loved this. There are several of these books available for purchase. Is there one, in particular, you recommend to buy?
Thx~
Thank you. I guess the only one I am familiar with comes out of the Ante-Nicene Fathers. It is an expensive set. $300 for all ten volumes. It is free online in pdf format. I like it because it is translated in the King's English, like the KJV and the Book of Mormon is. Using thee and thou, etc. I believe it sets scripture apart with a sense of dignity from other literature.
I'd also add, I like how the reading is versed. In the Bible and even sometimes in the Book of Mormon it is hard to keep the flow of words because the verse changes right in the middle of the sentence (multiple times) and you have to consciously keep aware of the sentence. This writing flows very well.
Itdoes. I did not read all of it in the video , I picked and chose what to read. But if you ever get a chance to read the Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs in it's entirety, i am sure you would find it very interesting.
@@smallhelmonabigship3524 I do have a new desire to find them, and hopefulky afford it. I don't harbor any vain hope in them being entirely unaltered, but the Lord did tell Joseph Smith that any who read with the Holy Spirit upon them would easily distinguish the truth.
@@deborahbarlow4309 Just like the Doctrine and Covenants said the Apocrypha has many errors in it, but also much truth for those with the spirit of discernment.
You can download all nine volumes of the Ante-Nicene Fathers here in pdf format. It does not do you any good if the power goes out. One reason I purchased the books.
holybooks.com/ante-nicene-fathers-vol-i-ix/
The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs is in Volume 8 if I remember right. You have to use the spirit of discernment when reading these early Christian works because there are many things in them which do not have a ring of truth to them.
@@smallhelmonabigship3524 thanks!
I’ve really enjoyed reading the books of the Twelve Patriarchs.
Okay, I've been reading comments and listening to the video (I had to restart it because apparently you can't do both at once 😉) and someone said something about the waters handing between the second and third heaven sounding like the part in Moses (PoGP) where the Lord divides the water above the firmament from the waters under the firmament. I'll be honest, I don't quite understand what He's saying, because it sounds like He talking about rain and ocean, but also dividing the heavens from each other. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if He's talking about both. Because He says He did everything spiritually, then temporally including making the earth.
It's mindblowing the things you can learn.
Helm…are you familiar with this “water hanging between the one and the other”, and what it actually means? If not, I’d love the opportunity to share this great and marvelous truth with you some how. There are so many answers to some of the most peculiar verses in scripture that lie within this verse you’ve read here. I wasn’t aware of the Book of the Patriarchs until I listened to this video, and I have since ordered a copy. I own an originally printed 1611 Geneva Bible which does have the Apocrypha in its binding, but of course not that book. Nonetheless, when I heard you read that particular verse, I almost came undone with a excitement, and I searched online for about 2-3 hours thereafter online, researching until I was able to confirm I was ordering the correct translation as what you’d read(some translations read differently, especially in that verse). Nonetheless, if you already know, then I’m happy to know another person who shares in this great and sacred knowledge; if not, I’d love to share it with you as “thanks” of sorts for this wonderful gift you’ve given me here by bringing me to a knowledge of this new book of scripture. Thanks again.
I am not familiar with the meaning of this verse, but I would love to hear what you know. That sounds exciting. I am always on a quest for truth. I have also a copy of the 1599 Geneva Bible in it's original print, and I love reading that book. The characters and spelling are different than modern English, but it is easy to read once one gets used to it.
For the Testament of the Twelve Pariarchs, I used the translation found in the Ante Nicene Fathers, Volume 8. It is expensive, ($300) but you can find it free online.
@@smallhelmonabigship3524 yes sir, I love reading the old English lit and grammar, and Even more so the marginal notes of the Tindale, Luther and the other contributors. If only all Christians would take the time to do so, they would find irrefutable evidences that Satan has brought to pass his own marvelous work by the discovering the great truths he has removed and polluted. That’s the sole reason I purchased my Geneva Bible to learn what the true beliefs of that time really were; again to my great satisfaction is witness after witness that what we proclaim is in PERFECT harmony with the original teachings of Christ and His apostles. Also, I did purchase the Ante Nicean Fathers, Volume 8 edition…just awaiting delivery by weeks end.
Nonetheless, there’s multiple facets of truth which need to be addressed and understood before the true nature of the aforementioned verse can be fully appreciated. I cannot simply place such a bold statement on this platform.
I indicated my email in my previous reply, but as soon as I’d sent it,I immediately edited out these instructions. That said, if RUclips makes you aware of comments in your email, that version of my comment should read differently at the end than it does here. Let me know if for some reason that is not the case. I’m simply trying not to leave my email here in the comments for all of the “trollers” to acquire. Again, Let me know if you can interpret my clue to discerning my email address. If not, I’ll post it again, and edit it out once you’ve confirmed. Thanks again for the opportunity, and I greatly anticipate being able to share this with you. I can assure, it will be one of the most profound things you will ever have considered concerning the magnificent creations of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
@@edgeprep Thank you. I should have done a better job referencing my source material. I could have saved you the time to find it. One thing about the Ante-Nicene Fathers. It is a collection of early Christian Literature compiled from libraries from all over the world. So it is not all written by the same author but many authors spanning three centuries. There are things written in it which come across as powerful truths, and there are other things which don't seem to have a ring of truth to them.
People have a tendency to pick out those things which are not true and use them to dismiss the entire work. To me, it is a wonderful glimpse into early Christian thought and I treasure those books greatly. And I am so grateful those scholars dedicated their lives toward compiling and translating this work.
Let me set up an email account where everyone can send me emails. I have been wanting to do that but I never got around to it. I will see if I can do it in the next day or two.
I understand completely about setting up a separate email account. That’s exactly why I didn’t leave my email laying here in the comments section. It’s difficult to trust almost anyone these days, no matter how sincere they appear. I’ll wait patiently, no rush.
Also, in addressing your thoughts concerning the true and possibly untrue portions in the Patriarchs books; I am very much familiar with discernment through the spirit when reading outside of canonized scripture. As the Lord says concerning the Apocrypha in D&C 91:
4 Therefore, whoso readeth it, let him understand, for the Spirit manifesteth truth;
5 And whoso is enlightened by the Spirit shall obtain benefit therefrom;
6 And whoso receiveth not by the Spirit, cannot be benefited….
Reading the Apocrypha through the lens of the Spirit has gifted me great knowledge, especially concerning the Last Days. The visions of Ezra connect so many dots in our canonized scriptures that the Spirit will unfailingly provide a most irrefutable witness of the truthfulness contained therein. That said, I went and read much of the Testaments of the Patriarchs online(as you said) after your video, and the confirmation I received was all I needed to complete the purchase. Again, I greatly appreciate your efforts and just want you to know what a wonderful blessing your work has been.
You will see what I mean soon enough! Who knows, maybe it wasn’t for me at all, but you read what you did so that I would recognize it, and the Lord could the use me to bring you to further knowledge and understanding of His mysteries, as a reward for you diligent efforts and seeking. (I couldn’t say that in any other way without it sounding boastful, but I mean it in the most humble way possible).
I do not propose to know anything that any other of Heavenly Father’s children doesn’t or cannot know if they seek it. That’s all I did quite frankly, I sought to be taught by him through the spirit specifically about Abraham 3&4 and the facsimiles, and he fulfilled his promise to me which is a promise to all men, and Especially to those who live by the the Word of Wisdom as declared in D&C 89:
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones;
19 And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures;
Of course, I wouldn’t want anyone to simply take my word for it, and so I will wait patiently to present to you the knowledge afforded me through my efforts to you for your consideration and discernment through the Spirit. However, myself having sought for and gained a personal witness of the truthfulness of these things, admittedly, I do anxiously anticipate your own moment of acquisition as well, even if it be a bit selfish of me so to do…. It is truly magnificent and spectacular to put it mildly. Have a great day “Brother Helm”!😉
👆has a nice ring to it, don’t ya think!?
@@edgeprep This will be my new email which I will make public for this channel. Sorry about the wait, I got a little too busy yesterday.

I totally agree about using discernment. The D&C doesn't tell us not to read the Apocrypha, but to use discernment. After reading your reply last night I read 1st Nephi 13 and 14 this morning talking about the plates of Laban were far more numerous than the records we have in the Bible. And how when the Jews first brought the records to us, they were plain and precious and easy to understand. But the great and abominable church took away that plainness. It also talks about how much of it will be restored in the last days. That is what I like to ponder. A full restoration of the Bible one day. I would also like to read the record that John is keeping concerning the events as they really happened these last two thousand years through to the end of the world.
I appreciate your thoughts, and I am really excited to find out what you have.
Thank you
Beautiful scripture.
I REALLY ENJOYED THAT ONE
The water hanging between one and another reminds me of the firmament that divided the great waters below from the water s above the firmament, in Moses 2.
Some one else is teaching me some very spectacular things about this based on sound Scripture especially the Book of Abraham. I can't wait to figure it all out for myself and share what he taught, with his permission.
This
pastor didn't mention Noah, did he? A lot more than on person was killed on Gods order for His purposes then. This Pastor must the one of those that think the translations we have now is perfect and was translated the way God wanted it. So much was lost and purposely omitted. Thanks for a great video and more light!
Thank you. I don't entirely trust the guy or what his motives are. I guess we will see where he goes. It is up to him.
