    I'm a fish keeper myself but I cant imagine the shock of going to someone's house and seeing a fish that's bigger than my dog 😭 Are you gonna build a custom pond for it?

    • @Colton_Lee

      We currently have a 150 gallon indoor koi pond, so it'll probably go in there once it outgrows the tank. After that, I'm sure anything is possible. Either a nice pond or a huge tank!

      .032Ml per gallon for the first week, then slowly increasing by 2x each week until you start to see results. Go slowly and test often! More info here reefkeeping.com/joomla/index.php/current-issue/article/116-vinegar-dosing-methodology-for-the-marine-aquarium

    bro you should probably feed your plecos with sinking pelets or any thing like that plecos are catfish and are carnivorous they eat algae as a last resort or to vary their diet but most people are misinformed that they eat only algae and that's why they are mistreated most of the time 😔

    • @Colton_Lee
      @Colton_Lee Месяц назад

      Absolutely, they cleared the algae in no time and definitely needed more food, not even 2 days into the tank! They've been getting sinking wafers and catching some fish food as well. And yes I agree people expect scavenging fish can survive on little to nothing, when in reality they need just as much variety as any other omnivore! Thanks for your comment!

      @Colton_Lee Месяц назад

      That might be a little tough considering goldfish are like the trash trucks of the fish world. Might be hard to find something they won't try to eat! But its definitely a good thought, every tank needs shrimp! Lol

    • @Colton_Lee
      @Colton_Lee Месяц назад

      These plecos don't get big, not like common plecos. Mustard spots max out around 5". But yes definitely, every fish I have that outgrows their tanks get the upgrades they need! Unfortunately the other Ranchu that we had with him didn't make it, so we will definitely need to get him a new friend!

    What do you keep the water temperature at?

    • @Colton_Lee
      @Colton_Lee 3 месяца назад

      I have kept mine anywhere between mid 60°F roughly 67-72 (primarily during the colder months) but during the summer it can get warmer into the upper 70's. The ones I have kept appear healthy in that range. Most info I hear says colder is better than hotter and the range being 65-80°F (20-27°C). Higher temps could cause stress and illnesses. If you are into breeding, you could experiment with what temperature works best for that, possibly a internet search of their natural breeding season in the wild, as that I am unfamiliar with.

      Thats exactly right, thanks for the comment. I need to do and update mentioning that very thing. I will say, on a solid floor, leveled, it is surprisingly sturdy. 100% true though, anything this tall and heavy needs to be secured to the wall.
