Fine Young Cannibals were and still are a legendary fantastic group of musicians, with a great singer Roland Gift. This song with the fantastic legendary back vocals of Jimmy Summerville is incredible. The combination of Roland and Jimmy is simply heaven!!! Absolute top class!!!
Having Jimmy Somerville on backing vocals just completes this song.

Roland Gifts power & control over his vocals was & (as of 2023) still is something to behold. Always felt he never got the recognition or career his talents deserved. Had he been around in the 50s/60s/70s he’d of been far more appreciated.
He looks so at ease & always looks like he’s really enjoying his music
His voice is timeless & going from what I saw tonight on
Jools Holland’s New Year’s Eve 2023 show he’s still very much got it. Jools playing piano, looking up with adoring admiration while Roland belted out GOOD THING is the best thing I’ve seen this year…So far 😉 🍾

@@Thunderchild-gz4gcr correct definitely the only thing I might add after seeing ur comment is kinda like JC's mesmerizing rendition of Hurt made u think it wasn't Trents/NIN anymore either it's the same way that even tho Mark James wrote it for EP in that summer of 69 with all dying around Priscilla and him the song fits EP so, so freakin much it's heartbreaking. If I an add that as the incredible centerpiece of his legendary 70s Vegas shows with this and Can't Help Falling In Love always as the closer it really fit EP n his life n show. But this FYC rendition is the best cover I've heard. Better than UB40s great #1 version as well as Yoakum smooth version this one with the double time drums at the end n Roland's amazing voice really is simply marvelous....BTW my fave FYC song after this is Blue. So simple so Pop formula n still just a perfect Lil song. To me its like 1980's b-side classic Be True by Springsteen and the E Street Band in their peak era IMHO The River album , material and World Tour.
