Im 35 and I had just discovered this song! Now Im addicted to it! "Good thing" and "She drive me crazy" were fantastic tunes too. Such a great band😎👍🏻👍🏻
oh same! heard this song today (24/2/24) for the first time EVER (consciously) on my cars radio, shazamed it and just found out it's actually OLDER THAN ME! well, could've guessed it, since it's actually GOOD it can't be a recently released song😄but i was still surprised i lived my whole life without knowing this great tune existed😅
Not one single artist in their whole fucking career in decades can match a fraction of the raw beautiful honesty on display here. This is real fucking music, straight from the heart.
Modern music will never touch this, this is raw honesty... men bearing their hearts and feelings without a filter. No one is conforming to an orthodoxy. This is pain and rhythm in one beautiful package.
I never appreciated the movements and behaviour of the "two men" before. Fantastic stuff, the band had an attitude and look that has proved timeless, you couldn't really say it's "80's" music.
Amen, and I get tired of people telling me that every generation says that. The 80s had some great unique music. Today there is barely a blip on the radar.
Graeme would sit in our 6th form common room, just practicing trumpets riffs, lads would take the piss, to no response. I am pleased to report he lives a happy retirement, by far the biggest talent musically there, you can't do it without a band though.
Roland Gift looks so much like I imagine the helpless kid in the song. Very underrated. Someone should make a film set in the 80s with this song in it to revive it.
This was in the soundtrack of "The handmaids tale". Not the show but the 80s movie.... so i guess somebody already did what you asked for ~40 years ago :)
Three musicians straight out of ska's second wave. Cox and Steele came out of The Beat, and Gift was the saxophonist for the Akrylykz. Unike Madness, who went one step beyond, FYC went far further. So much from the early 2000's, like Fitz and the Tantrums and Gnarles Barkley, remind me of FYC's unique sound.
Going back to the 80's I was going out with this amazingly pretty girl I was 17 she was 18 and I bent over backwards to keep her happy. This had just been released , FYC was her fav group. Anyway we walked around Peterborough and into HMV, on the wall a member of staff had put up two promo posters for this group. She said, they would look good in my bedroom..... Two seconds I ran forward pulled the pair down and legged out of the shop with them!!! We split up some time later and I often wondered what happened to her, so in Sep 2023 I had a tracing agent look for her. Found her, she agreed I could come up and she her. Entered the front door, husband and daughter watching (like a hawk). Then in the hall those posters, framed and hung proudly for all to see. When I saw this we looked at each other and just hugged and cried. God it was like being back in 80's again with very happy times ahead, thanks FYC

I discovered it a long time ago but didn't appreciate it at all. Now I find it catchy for some reason.
Great song, and voice. Brilliant band very underrated. ♥️
For me they´re not underrated, nor overhyped. If u like their music, well isn´t that all that matters? Who needs rating then?
All of a sudden I’m 18 again and a freshman at IU. Such amazing times with amazing people. Thx
The muted trumpet solo elevates this to the next level!
Raw creativity. These guys looked like they were just doing there thing and not giving a flying F about anything. Love it!
The guitar and bass of the English Beat. Then they found Roland. Some of the greatest music of all time.
Definitely a classic from Roland and the boys, man I'll always remember getting their 1st cd way back when. Good jams
Their first CD? 😂 Try their first vinyl. That really was way back when.
A true gift, this song.
A Roland Gift even
I'm really craving the 80s these days....no internet, just real people

Late Summer 85, my mate was called Johnny, we used to sing this to him, this track & moneys too tight to mention we’re great songs of that summer.
The track is fantastic for sure, but I love the video. The guitar dance, the expressions of the singer. I love it. Thank you
