Everyone is now under the Infinite Tsukuyomi and "peace" has been established. THE END Naruto's Dream Madara did defeat Team 7 but he doesn't kill them, no that would be too easy. He wants them to enjoy his dream world like everyone else and so that's what he does. He puts Team 7 under the Tsukuyomi. This is sad because Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage is never fulfilled, but wait! Naruto can still become Hokage in the dream world and that's what happens. Black Zetsu In the Infinite Tsukuyomi Naruto completely rewrites what's happened. His dream starts with his battle with Madara. Only this time, Madara is conveniently killed off by Black Zetsu. But since Naruto couldn't beat Madara in actuality he dreams up a "stronger" substitute. There's no better substitute than the mother of all chakra. Kaguya Naruto goes on to fight Kaguya in a very unrealistic battle. Dimensions are switched, but yet despite the odds they overcome it. Naruto is even able to land his famous reverse harem jutsu. Fight Versus Sasuke Naruto has always wanted to beat Sasuke and the last time they fought he lost. So in his dream he fights Sasuke one last time and they clash (just like the first time, coincidence?). As they nearly bleed out Sasuke admits defeat and Naruto can finally keep his promise of bringing Sasuke home. It's a dream come true. All the pieces are falling into place for a happily ever after. Naruto saves Sasuke, he saves the world, he becomes Hokage, and the peace Jiraiya dreamed of finally occurs. Hokage Dream It's quite interesting that Naruto's ambition of being Hokage would perfectly match his Tsukuyomi dream if he WERE defeated. That's why this theory works. How can we know he wasn't defeated, how do we know Naruto didn't dream all of this after his defeat by Madara? Can you imagine Naruto losing? That's exactly why everyone readily accepts the outcome of the Naruto story. Naruto was destined to win, but if you look at it realistically, Naruto should've died a long time ago. The fact he became Hokage is truly a fairytale, a dream come true. Conclusion So basically speaking my theory states that Madara defeated Team 7 and put them under the Tsukuyomi. In the Tsukuyomi Naruto dreams another outcome of his fight with Madara. He wins and becomes Hokage. Wars still came to be, and on a much greater scale now that the Shinobi have acquired greater militaristic power through the creation of the Hidden Village system that he and Hashirama helped to create. Children were still left dying on the battlefield, with Obito being a good example of that. And what's more, the very village that he had hoped to become a light at the end of the tunnel, the Leaf, harbored a darkness that he foresaw in his life. With everything that he had believed in had turned their backs on him, what else can he hope for but to will a world where no one would ever lose again? He had the means, the power and the drive to do it. And he had nothing left to lose. He could do it. Create a world where literally "everyone wins". Hashirama's grandson, Tsunade's younger brother can also be a perfect example about children still died because of wars. Madara must have expected too much at Konoha to become so disappointed. His clan - one of the reason (besides his family) why he didnt go forward with Hashirama in the past, the thing that he chose over his own feeling - turned their back to him. The village once was the light in his eyes, his last hope to grab now become the last thing pushes him down the cliff of hopelessness. After all he is the "Vanquished", the "Loser", both his and Hashirama's hands were all covered in blood but he remained in everyone's eyes as a monster, because he loose. No one but Hashirama knows his pain, his love, his everything, but in the end no one was there for him. How desperate a person must be to walk the darkest path?

Growing up is learning Madara was actually the hero of the story.
When we were younger we all thought that the hero was the only good side to follow and we loved them, as we grow we realize that "good" is only a perspective and we learned that the villain once was the hero and in his eyes he still is. We loved heroes now we relate to the villain.
