UNDERSTAND THIS: Guy was fighting for 4 days & 3 nights straight by the time he got to Madara & quite a bit of that fight was done with the Inner gates open. By the time he got to Madara he was already in the 6th gate. Then opened the 7th, & launched the Hirudora then went straight into the 8th gate & still almost killed Madara. In the Anime, it is shown that Itachi and Juzo had a conversation about Might Duy killing most of the 7 Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist when using the 8th Gate. Itachi knew he would have a lot of trouble if Guy resorted to his 8 gates formation. He was also probably impressed by Guy countering his genjutsu attacks by simply looking at his opponents feet instead of facing them in the eye.

To be completely fair to Guy here he is by far the strongest character we had seen so far in the series up to this point except Juubidara and maybe Juubito. His strength with the 8th gate is absolutely the peak of any non-six paths characters in the entire series.
Guy is that character we took for just a comedic sidekick to Kakashi but this moment showed he was no joke and most powerful character in terms of sheer strength.
The insane part is if guy was with the 5 Kage then & there he would have had been respected forever more by anyone & rock lee would never be a laughing stock ever again since he too someday will be able to use the 8 gates of pain.

I cry every time I see the backstory of Guy Sensei. But I’m happy he got to say “Fuck you” to every single one of them Genins after his fight with Madara. Dreams do come true.
Its funny that Dai could have easily wiped the floor with those two leaf village punks, but he knew better and it was never about that, Dai was the epitome of perseverance and instilled that into Guy from such a young age that he had no choice but to become the strongest in his village! Dai was literally the most humble and one of the most power shinobi in the village but kept it lowkey because he didnt care for fame or glory,he was truly a splendid ninja!
nothing but taijutsu, takes on six path madara (his ultimate form) + rinnegan + way more years mastered in ninjutsu and techniques. (remember madara edo tensei fought the kages with ease) and yet he struggles against 1 person who only has taijutsu. Shows how beast of a shinobi Might Guy is.
He struggled and lost. Only reason he survived was because of the Hashirama cells, which just ended up making the entire last arch pretty uninteresting. Guy is the strongest in terms of personal power. Everyone else that's stronger had power from someone else.

I’m one of the creators of the power listing wikia, so I can explain something you might’ve missed. The levels of most "body/mind" abilities go like this: Peak-Human, think Batman/Captain America Enhanced, Luke Cage in durability/strengh Supernatural, Superman Lastly you have absolute. This includes people like Saitama. A funny thing about Absolute strengh specifically is that you’d also get the ability to rip apart reality or other metaphysical concepts. So the fact that Madara said he ripped apart space itself is a sign that he was indeed the strongest of them all. Absolute in strengh, by definition.
My theory on why Guy’s dad didn’t kill all of the swordsmen is that his heart physically couldn’t handle the strain the 8th gate had on him and he only had a few seconds in that state dying of a heart attack.
Hear me out. This is an AMAZING fight...but am I alone thinking this should have been Lee? The boy who was called a loser, surpassing everyone (including Guy). Imagine Madera declaring him the strongest, then Naruto brings him back from the brink of death and everyone thinks super highly of Lee. I felt like it was built up, but we never saw it.
I think lee should get his own moment like this. But here in this moment I think it was beautiful showing guys dad giving his life for his son and then guy doing the same for the whole world

Something I've wondered for a while. What if Guys leg didn't break? Would he have gone straight through Madara? If so, would Madara have been able to regenerate like he did, and to what capacity of strength? He was obviously weakened even after having regeneration take effect, having to take a moment to recover, only sending the truth seeker orb for Guy. Just a thought.
i dont think it would have effected madara that much more if his leg didnt break but maybe it couldve killed him. Guy's father is one of the best fathers in the world. Wish I had a dad like him. He always encourage his son no matter how hopeless the situation may seem. To be completely fair to Guy here he is by far the strongest character we had seen so far in the series up to this point except Juubidara and maybe Juubito. His strength with the 8th gate is absolutely the peak of any non-six paths characters in the entire series.
Guy is that character we took for just a comedic sidekick to Kakashi but this moment showed he was no joke and most powerful character in terms of sheer strength.
The insane part is if guy was with the 5 Kage then & there he would have had been respected forever more by anyone & rock lee would never be a laughing stock ever again since he too someday will be able to use the 8 gates of pain.
Kakashi :- 8 gate is 10× times more powerful than 5 kage combined + might guy didn't dropped his weight + night guy (that amazed everyone even kakashi) + he was fighting from 4 days 3 nights + his positivity and his hard work ......huh! Mark my words he is the strongest character in Naruto

Its funny that Dai could have easily wiped the floor with those two leaf village punks, but he knew better and it was never about that, Dai was the epitome of perseverance and instilled that into Guy from such a young age that he had no choice but to become the strongest in his village! Dai was literally the most humble and one of the most power shinobi in the village but kept it lowkey because he didnt care for fame or glory,he was truly a splendid ninja!

He struggled and lost. Only reason he survived was because of the Hashirama cells, which just ended up making the entire last arch pretty uninteresting. Guy is the strongest in terms of personal power. Everyone else that's stronger had power from someone else.

A funny thing about Absolute strengh specifically is that you’d also get the ability to rip apart reality or other metaphysical concepts.
So the fact that Madara said he ripped apart space itself is a sign that he was indeed the strongest of them all.

My theory on why Guy’s dad didn’t kill all of the swordsmen is that his heart physically couldn’t handle the strain the 8th gate had on him and he only had a few seconds in that state dying of a heart attack.

Hear me out. This is an AMAZING fight...but am I alone thinking this should have been Lee? The boy who was called a loser, surpassing everyone (including Guy). Imagine Madera declaring him the strongest, then Naruto brings him back from the brink of death and everyone thinks super highly of Lee. I felt like it was built up, but we never saw it.
I think lee should get his own moment like this. But here in this moment I think it was beautiful showing guys dad giving his life for his son and then guy doing the same for the whole world

Something I've wondered for a while. What if Guys leg didn't break? Would he have gone straight through Madara? If so, would Madara have been able to regenerate like he did, and to what capacity of strength? He was obviously weakened even after having regeneration take effect, having to take a moment to recover, only sending the truth seeker orb for Guy. Just a thought.
i dont think it would have effected madara that much more if his leg didnt break but maybe it couldve killed him. Also when naruto attacks madara in the scene after this and he cant overpower naruto he says to himself something along the lines of "is this because ive been weakened after fighting guy? no hes just that much stronger" or something to that effect so if guys leg didnt break but it didnt kill madara everything wouldve gone the same unfortunately as cool as it wouldve been to have guy kill madara
