In the end she is being buried alive by her depression (Herself in black) and in the end, she climbs out of her grave to drag it down with her. By confronting it instead of silently screaming, she awakens in her grave, finally free.
I feel that it is her darkness or rather the evil in her. Although depression is apart of the darkness. That is why in ancient belief structures and a lot of modern day remakes. The initiate is taught balance. As 8n balancing the light and dark in oneself.
To help clear some controversy on this issue, both albums were written by the same person (Ben Moody). So wouldn't you think it's okay to have the same style of music? So to say that "We are the Fallen" is a rip off of "Evanescence" is like saying Ben Moody is a rip off of himself, it's just silly. Notice how Evanescence changed after "Fallen" and into "The Open Door", "We are the Fallen" has the same style of music from "Fallen" because it was the direction that Ben wanted Evanescence to be heading in before he left in October of 2003. Ben just didn't want to deal with the turmoil that was going on between him and Amy, so he left doing what he loved most. And yet you guys bash him for something he created, he left to keep Evanescence alive instead of having it fall apart. Both are great bands in my opinion, what happened between Amy and Ben is beyond me but if one thing is clear on this issue it's that they all had a different vision of what they wanted Evanescence to become(which is what leads to conflict).

She is definitely an amazing singer and there are a few similarities in her voice with Amy`s voice but there are also very obvious,at least to me,differences.The violins also add a different note to the song comparing to Evanescence songs and gives a more dramatic effect to the whole song.Love it!

as much as I loved this album and find myself coming back to it....i think it would be another grammy album if they had gotten amy to record these songs and album..you can tell ben had a lot of influence on Fallen. Every component of this band synergizes masterfully. Rhythm Guitar. Bass. Drums. Lead Guitar. Vocals. Background programming. Videography panning and spin, fading. Screenwriting for the music video. Light engineering. Makeup was a bit dark but done well. There is QUITE LITERALLY a light at the end of the tunnel (hallway) as there is light at the end of the song. She Grave Pacts the dark part of herself and it ends with her eyes opening anew. composition is 10/10. Music video is 10/10. Have SO much respect for this band. Benjamin. John. William. Carly. Mr. O'brien. Remember not all songs that look sad are sad. To make an Andy Griffith Show reference the tears upon this album's lyrical pillow bespeak the joy within the accompanying intrument's heart. The music industry would change drastically the next two years after this was released.
WATF is supposed to be performing at shiprocked early next year. They were supposed to perform in January of this year but had to cancel because there wasn't enough time for all the band members to get vaccinated and boosted for covid.

Her name is carly smithson. She was on american idol years ago, and was pretty good, but she had a hard rock vibe that was not american idol style. And although she and amy looks and sound a little bit similar, non is a copy of the other. I supposed Ben saw her and the rest is history.

I don't think their ripping off evanescence. The guys are doing their music with a new singer. If looking absolutely beautiful, having a black hair and amazing voice makes you like Amy Lee , most of the fems in metal are as guilty as she is. I like it.
I've only just come across this album by virtue of music listening algorithms. I can easily see the connection with Fallen by Evanescence, it cannot be any coincidence that the band chose their name.. a sideways fillip perhaps. It's excellent, love it, take nothing away from Evanescence but you can see the quality. A one off is so regrettable in retrospect.

This song made me realise how much I've changed since I first found it years ago when I was 13. I thought it was a twin switcheroo. I took the lyrics literally and the visualisation, that the twin wanted to be her, her life. I also used this song as a relatable outlet to my father. The song at the time, and right now, makes me think of him. Being 'killed' by someone because they assume everyone is and should be empty and broken. (I still hold that view in mind, but the growth in my perception is astounding.) Now, I see it as laying yourself to rest. Burying your authentic self alive to survive in this empty world, living a lie. Like burying your inner child, your emotions and feelings, who you really are, to survive. Which is sadly relatable to everyone. It's what we like to call "growing up" which is essentially dying inside. Some go through it far too early.... really any age is far too early.

WATF is supposed to be performing at shiprocked early next year. They were supposed to perform in January of this year but had to cancel because there wasn't enough time for all the band members to get vaccinated and boosted for covid.

Her name is carly smithson. She was on american idol years ago, and was pretty good, but she had a hard rock vibe that was not american idol style. And although she and amy looks and sound a little bit similar, non is a copy of the other. I supposed Ben saw her and the rest is history.

I've only just come across this album by virtue of music listening algorithms. I can easily see the connection with Fallen by Evanescence, it cannot be any coincidence that the band chose their name.. a sideways fillip perhaps. It's excellent, love it, take nothing away from Evanescence but you can see the quality. A one off is so regrettable in retrospect.

This song made me realise how much I've changed since I first found it years ago when I was 13.
I thought it was a twin switcheroo. I took the lyrics literally and the visualisation, that the twin wanted to be her, her life.
I also used this song as a relatable outlet to my father. The song at the time, and right now, makes me think of him.
Being 'killed' by someone because they assume everyone is and should be empty and broken.
(I still hold that view in mind, but the growth in my perception is astounding.)
Now, I see it as laying yourself to rest. Burying your authentic self alive to survive in this empty world, living a lie.
Like burying your inner child, your emotions and feelings, who you really are, to survive.

I found this group because they were mentioned in a video called Tragic Details About Evanescence's Amy Lee. This group was put together by ex members of Evanescence. This group kind of sounds like Evanescence .
That's the lie they promoted. Only Ben was an actual member of Ev, which was created by Amy and Ben, the only two original members. Ev was the duo of Amy and Ben back then, and they'd hired multiple session/tour players along the way until Amy made it a band in 2007-09. The other two in this inauthentic failed band were just Ben's buddies he had hired for the touring and had nothing to do with Ev's Fallen's creation.
They remind me of Apocalyptia and her voice is deeper than Amy Lees.
