Cannot stand the music nowadays, except for the occasional artist here and there, but my word were the 70s and the 80s especially, the golden era of music in my opinion. It’s definitely gone downhill since then, technology and trends have taken over unfortunately :(

Back in Sep75, I returned from Okinawa after a 13 month deployment. Myself and other Marines were waiting on flights at LAX to our next duty station, myself Camp LeJeune North Carolina. Three or four of us were walking around.... then five or six " Punks" in their 20s called us "Baby Killers." OMG it got ugly, and we got in their faces. Told them to say it again to our face. Needless to say they backed down and walked away. This issue was minor compared to what G.I.s In the 60s and early 70s went through. Sorry about rambling on. I'm from Mexico City too and for some reason this song was kind of forgotten for many, ( including myself, I could not remember the name or the lyrics ) but I knew there was a song I loved back then. It took me a while to finally find it. saludos

@Tom Reedy Yep. For sure. I had this record too. I was thinking today "It was a green label, but can't remember the name of the record label." Now I see it was EMI. Wish there were more of these songs and less of Katy Perry and others with no talent as there are today. Not much real talent, even on AI or AGT/BGT.
I remember hearing this tune on the radio summer 1980 and thought it was great but then never heard it again until I found it on RUclips. Wonder why he never had any further hits.

Everyone has their opinion. Myself if I had to pick 20 years I would pick 1965 to 1985. I was born in 1955. Kids today do not like 60s 70s 80s and 90s. The 20 year olds of today they were born in 2000, most of them like Rapp. So their favorite music is 2020. Its all about when you was born. My dad was born in 1928, he loved the 40s music. @@usmc-veteran73-77 Although in saying that, I’m a 2000 kid and I absolutely LOVE the 60s-80s more than any other time period. Cannot stand the music nowadays, except for the occasional artist here and there, but my word were the 70s and the 80s especially, the golden era of music in my opinion. It’s definitely gone downhill since then, technology and trends have taken over unfortunately :(

@@MegaJustGeorge thank you George, it was an honor to serve. I served 5 Oct 73 to 4 Oct 77. At that time most people did not like the military because of the Vietnam War. Back in Sep75, I returned from Okinawa after a 13 month deployment.
Myself and other Marines were waiting on flights at LAX to our next duty station, myself Camp LeJeune North Carolina. Three or four of us were walking around.... then five or six
" Punks" in their 20s called us "Baby Killers." OMG it got ugly, and we got in their faces. Told them to say it again to our face. Needless to say they backed down and walked away. This issue was minor compared to what G.I.s
