Messier was such a dirty player and never dropped his gloves.
Agreed 100%. Big Joel was never intimidated by him. Messier would always chirp at Otto non-stop and would then hide behind the refs.
Next to McSorley, Anderson and Lumley, Messier is one of my most despised Oilers of all time.
31 years since last series,..tells you the NHL has to do better setting up more rivalries in playoffs

Yeah, NOBODY really wanted to shake the opposing players' hands. But you swallowed hard, grit your teeth, muttered "good game," and went through the handshake line.
Tim hunter was a beast, no one would take on that guy
Oh, Cementhead tried to, numerous times. As did McClelland, McSorley, Brown, Jackson, Lumley, Hunter, Smith, and Beukeboom (and on occasion Messier, Krushelnyski, and Gregg).
Timmy feared NO ONE.

24 years in the Senate, known for 32 years, there would be much more aggressive policy. But, so- I'm completely blunt here- I think it's going to be a lot harder than John thinks it is.
