Thank you! I'm finally figuring out what SUBTRACT is for! :) Well, not just what it is for BUT I think you just showed me how to use it correctly. For some reason, that has been a hard concept for me to figure out! I've recently been playing with welding shapes, not just fonts. You've given me more to think about. And, I've used the center tool but didn't realize I could use it to center SHAPES together, I was only using to center them to the page together and them moving them together where I wanted them. I know that probably didn't make sense! :) You explain things SO much better than other videos I've watched. I usually have to google what I want to know and find printed instructions because too many videos don't explain things as well as you do.
Thank you Angela! I'm so glad to hear that the videos are helping you get the most out of your software (and machine!). Having your support makes my little heart happy and makes every video worthwhile! Thanks a bunch for stopping by! ---Becky
Becky THANK YOU !! You are amazing Thank you for this link I was so beside myself yesterday trying to do if from the other video lmao I was doing it wrong lmao I was using it backwards .LMAO no wonder why mine was not doing what yours did. LOL THANK YOU A MILLION!!
Thank you so much for all your amszing tutorials! I have a question though. I wanna create a Star with a number in the middle to cutout. But I don’t just want to cut the number out of the star, I basically want to connect the outline of the star to the number so that if I cut it out I have the star outline and then the number shape in the middle connected to the star in some places. Currently I am using the eraser or knife tool to combine them which is very tedious. Is there a way to merge them together so that I have them connected? I am always left with weird cutouts if I use the modify pannel. Can I somehow select what I want to keep when combining the objects? I really hope that made sense 🙈 it is hard to describe but you would make my life so much easier if you could tell me what I am missing…
Hi there! It sounds like you want to use the subtract option from the modify panel! We have a step by step tutorial in our Design School that will help! designbundles.net/design-school/how-to-use-the-modify-tool-in-silhouette-studio - Dawn 🙂

Hey Shab! Thanks for watching. Is there something specific you are looking for? Just creating your own printable invoice design?

You totally forgot detached lines… you went from make and release compound path to making a project. And I wanted to know about detached lines.
