Can we expect airport lighting to improve, it would be absolutely astonishing if they used ray tracing for that too
They have mention the lighting has been improved and tweeked for the new sim, but haven't confirmed how that will effect the airport lighting.
Yeah we don't know too much, basically we know they have multiple tracing now which can scan through clouds and give better colours above and below and you can also see light scattering has been improved on the ground. We know they are using ray tracing for cockpit shadows. But beyond that we've not had any real details. For all we know RT could only be used in shadows which is fine, but I'm guess there have been a lot more improvements and something interesting Seb said in the presentation that many scenes look better like the Rio scene simple because they fixed a lot of rendering issues which I'm guessing some are related to lighting.
No airport lighting is a joke!
but hey, we can see how the grass moves now so...
They need to fix the papi lights. They are terrible in the game. Specially when you’re landing in the desert.
It's mentioned in the developer lifetime map:Unrealistic Airport Lighting Distances planned for 2024
Every cargo ship uses a transponder to report its location. It was pretty genius for MSFS to tap into that data. It's probably much easier to use the real-world data than to create a random algorithm to try and simulate it.
I think there is a 3rd party developer all ready doing this with their global shipping pack. Seafront Simulations, so makes sense MSFS would do this. :) Thank you for the comment.
Marine traffic app on your phone shows it all, anybody can licence the information. It's only ships with AIS which is a lot but not all..
(Ships Captain here)
@@AusFlightSimmer There is a freeware package as well that used to do live ship traffic but they lost their realtime data when the supplier got bought out.
All I see is another reason to not leave the house! I now finally have an excuse to unbox my flight sim chair!
Ohhhh Flight sim chair!!! Noice!!!
I hope they work on actual crash and damage physics in the future i think over G-ing a cessna and a wing folding up would be insanely cool and re creating real world crashes
I hope they whould add actual crash physics
Yes that would be nice addition. But there is a reason why they didn't include it with 2020, but I cant recall it. thanks for watching.
They probably won't add it for the same reason Forza doesn't have proper damage models. Companies don't want their products damaged. Its to do with licencing.
@Glegh but even smaller stuff, like if I get a prop strike It whould be great if the prop would be visibly damaged, or when landing very hard the gear should break off
@@Glegh that's just a internet legend that was never confirmed from any company ever. Is just a excuse not to model damage
@@f3rny_66 Correct along with the political correctness that was talked about four years ago in forums - realism with large airliners crashing into the earth and buildings whilst populated with simulated passengers was said to be a bridge to far for the marketers.
I’m hoping that VR will work well in MSFS2024. Only time will tell.
They say that 10-15% of MSFS user base implements VR regularly. So it would be MENTAL if they didn't tune it for them.
I have high hopes. But I have learned to expect the unexpected
@@andyakarudolfhessiansack7936 I agree. We live in hope given it’s going to be a DX12 title
I always thought VR was weird in this case. How do you see your Controls while trying to fly? Trying to click actual controls can be hard to do on the fly. Always thought it was odd but never tried it.
@@DDRDK It's really easy. You see your cockpit like your actually there. You grab your mouse and use just like you would in 2d. It's way more fluid than 2d.
I promise you, once you try it you'll never go back to 2d. It's just inconceivable after VR. In fact it's that good, words cannot do it justice.
@andyakarudolfhessiansack7936 do you have any recommendations for VR sets? From absolute wild and best to maybe this one is the best but not the most extreme cost? I remember a headset from a company a year or so ago that was like $8K. Obviously not that one but one that's regarded as the best within reason?
Great stuff Shane! Looking forward to this. Cheers and all the best from Chris (Pie In The Sky Tours). 😊
Hello Chris, Cheers mate, thank you very much.
Hi chris 😊
Just thought i would say hi too 😅
Another great video. Thanks for keeping us updated! There's so much in this new sim I think I'll never get bored!
Yeah I agree AirJoe - Looks like we will be kept busy.
Strewth, that looks legitimately amazing.
It sure does, big leap forward than the current sim. :)
Any word on how difficult to run this game will be vs 2020? My guess is you'd need even beefier components but I'm curious to hear what they are saying about it.
Nice summary Shane, there's so much we don't know either. It's hard to pinpoint what I'm excited most for in MSFS 2024. I think the perception of scale. I.e. getting out and walking around in 3D detail and then getting in a cockpit of a 737 and travelling 1000 miles. It's just insane the scale they've managed to achieve while improving all aspects of the look and feel. Increible.
I totally agree Indi, the scale is out of this world :)
Thanks for the video. always good. So...I am wondering if you may change the words on the flying ad banners? I can already imagine the ones we would see, eh?
Hi Jerry, nothing confirmed. Wouldn't put it pass that someone will create a mod for it. Thanks for checking out the video.
That the Airplane in general library is accurate as normal games which without having the same plane, you can see the plane, model, livery with accuracy no matter where you are.
Great Update Shane!!
thank you Mark. Cheers, have a great week.
3D trees thank you, games in the 90s had them!
I wonder what they would do with military bases? I fly a lot from RAAF base Amberley up in Queensland and it looks pretty sad, I heard they would improve many airports, even some small ones I think. But I think it would be great if they could go into some depth in military bases.
Yeah, I think they are a touchy situation as some of them must be secret or highly secure. Not 100% sure. Thank you
Are these 3D textures a global thing or just certain regions? And how will current scenery add ons work if you carry them over to 24? My guess is they might look quite odd amongst the 3D stuff. Thanks mate
Thanks have mention global, cheers thanks Rodney.
I need to know the pricing model they're going to use for this. Will there be basic, deluxe, and premium versions like there is now?
about the firefighting? can we set where the fires will be? or will it be just one part of the world with the same fire over and over? and will we be able to see the retardant line on the ground so we can built line by tagging onto the last drop to extend the line? if so, i hope to be a tanker driver and that tankerguy72 can have his S2T ready for the 2024 sim...
Nice one Aussie things are looking very good 👍👌😎
Hey Tricky, thank you very much mate. Have a great week.
It amazes me the level they are bringing MSFS. The detail, the quality, the atmosphere... I have been an advocate of flight simming since the days of Commodore 64 with Solo Flight. Oh, how far we have come. I can't wait. The only "problem" will be at launch can I still fly PMDG and Fenix... (sigh) In time...
Pretty confident about 3rd party products from the they have mention a bunch of times.
unless you've come from primitive flight simming, you have NO IDEA what a dream come true this all is... especially in VR. Can't wait for Nov 2024.
Yeah I remember flight sim on my ZX Spectrum! Now I sit there in the cockpit of the Fenix A320 or PMDG 737, or even a tornado and it blows my mind
@@andrewp6307 we are in a golden age of flight simulation
Thanks mate!
Hopefully they have improved vehicle traffic.
Can we expect the wipers on aircraft to actually remove water from the windshield? (Not the fake fenix a320 effects)
Haven't herd of anything just yet on that one. Thanks Shadow for the comment and checking out the video.
😂😂
Im so hyped now!! I absolutely love msfs2020 and with 2024 they seem to be doing everything right! By the way, great job with the channel!
Thank you Moon. Thanks for watching the video. Cheers
😊😊Thank you for showing us this excellent video on the Massive Details and all the excellent updates 😊😊please keep up these excellent work 👏 😊
Thank you as all ways Michael. cheers mate.
Just wondering if the sim will be released for Xbox on the same day for the pc.
Will be on GamePass from Day one Joseph. So will depend on what Xbox you have. Cheers mate.
Ok,, wasn't that the news 2 weeks ago? Still nice recap!
Not everyone stays up to date will all the news like yourself. Cheers Pay!
What about waves on a shoreline?
For those of us who plan to get this on the Xbox, I wonder if we’ll need to update our TV?
One thing that concerns me is Bing! Last year MS tried unsuccessfully to sell off Bing, What would've happened to FS if the sale went through or does so in the future? Would it become a subscription service or offered at all?
Is this going to be able to be pre ordered, what’s the pricing and will there be different levels of the sim you purchase, ie standard, deluxe etc
I'm curious...why would you want to pre-order?
@@imacmill there was a lot more to the question than that. However pre ordering gives you opportunity to download before general release, ( it’s a marketing thing) so was wondering if that was going to be an option. Doesn’t necessarily express my desire.
I wish Microsoft would bring back the ATC feature or somehow integrate Vatsim/IVAO. Could be a really good way to have a tutorial series based on some of the language you have to use when speaking to ATC. ATC is just as important as a pilot and adds another level to the flight sim World
They only thing I want is that the landing gears doesn't work like a brick
very awesome things B) and also if we can get out of the aircrafts, and if they are having cloth physics like with the hot air balloons, i wonder if we will be able to jump from airplanes and parachute B) that would be amazing
Yes, would love to see a parachute model in the sim.
@@AusFlightSimmer yes and for airplanes too 😎
And all this gorgeousness is gong to run on my X Box series X?
bro im so hyped!
I'm looking forward to flying the hot air balloons, and blimps. I do hope those aren't just scenery assets. Thanks for sharing. :)
They confirmed they are flyable, and very very realistic at that
@@camhackett44 That's awesome. Thanks. :)
Zaczynam się obawiać, że do uruchomienia MSFS 2024 będzie potrzebny komputer wielkości domu i własna elektrownia.
Cant wait 😮
The first thing, I noticed were the real world AI traffic.
will VR be available from day 1?
Minimum system requirements: intel 13900k, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090
ackhsshually they claim the system requirements will be mostly the same as msfs2020
No way
Not mad at it. Might keep the children out.
@@thomasdewitt6771 kids have daddy's income though
remember this has a new engine, not a engine from 1998
Looking forward to better airport lighting and sounds, far too quiet! I'm also looking forward to not having a many plugins, like GSX, having it more boxed into the game. The first person view of being able to get out of the aircraft and do the inspections also is a solid feature I can't wait for! Lastly, I hope they do a better job of visually showing heat, because summer on the tarmac is hot and it throws different colours!
Thanks for the comment and checking out the video Capt.
Excitement will die down when they will announce the requirements :D
Do we still treat it as though it’s a flat and motionless plane?
Will DX12 now work? Thanks
Nick, yes they have confirmed DX12 is default in the new sim.
0:08 Who also had "Cars" in mind, the instant you saw this scene?
0:12 my 4080 will suffer greatly.😢
If they’ve taken to time to add every moving blade of grass let’s hope they bother to add flyby and tower view this time 🤞🏻
I hope there won't be any 3D rocks on the runway! 😂
Hope so too.! Cheers Alex.
Aus, I appreciate you keeping us up to date with another excellent FS2024 video, thank you. I am really looking forward for this sims release
Cheers Pete, you are welcome. Thanks a lot.
Can I preorder MSFS 2024 right now or when will we be able to preorder it?
We have no details of a Pre-Order, only a release date. Cheers thanks Max.
@@AusFlightSimmer Thanks
Well have to wait and see how this works on Xbox. It’s struggling sometimes in 2020 already
When they make the statement '" THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT" it sounds like it's going to be a lot more than just a flight sim. A simulated world of visuals and physics.
So will you be able to drive, pilot, captain bots and ships as well? Will you be able to sail aircraft carriers yourself to anywhere in the world you wish and land and take off from them.
How high will you be able to fly? will you be able to go all the way up to orbit? The physics of gravity and air fade away and and the physics of orbital mechanics take over. This all sounds rather amazing.
I believe they mean being able to go to space
Will it still have free roam flying or is it just missions
Hope there will be a crash animation.
My wish is to see waves that break at the shoreline. As I see the trailer with the ship rescue, it makes me hopeful......
50’s: we will have flying cars - 90’s: we will fly everywhere - NOW: we will simulate flying perfectly - 2070: we can buy bottled air
Can't we all ready do that now.
@AusFlightSimmer, but to replicate flying you will need the most powerful pc ever made and that is the orion pack8 costing £30,000 and the peripheral will cost £4k amd more stuff £5k so thar will set you back £38,000 maybe more this is best case scenario I know expensive.
"50’s: we will have flying cars."
We did. We had them back in the late 50s and early 60s. They were built and sold by Molt Taylor. It was called "The Aerocar." I grew up next to the airport where he built them so I actually saw them flying in the sky.
Flying cars are too expensive for their performance. They're neither a good car nor a good airplane.
"2070: we can buy bottled air"
The last century is calling to let you know scuba divers have been able to buy bottled air for (at least) 70 years. 😉
@@phillipzx3754 But scuba diving for fun is substantially different from sniffing bottled air for dear life - you’ll see soon and you will sooo be ashamed;) or shall I say doomed:D
@@idegteke Bottled oxygen, or bottled air? Scuba tanks are just bottled air. 🙂 Sick people breathe bottled oxygen. There's a HUGE difference between the two. 🙂
Anyone know if low end gaming pc's that do fine on 2020, will it do 2024 as good?😮
Not sure yet, the new sim is more optimized however need to wait for the minimum specs to be release.
I know it wasn't your intention, but it once again confirms the "Flightsim RPG" feeling. What about flight models? What about better API support? What about Microsoft's mapping data being notoriously out of date - so you end up with a hyper-realistic view of what your flight area looked like 10 years ago (it took Azure Maps 12(!) years to finally update our area in Victoria) What about ATC - or is Microsobo now simply going "buy SayInt/Beyond and leave us alone!" ? What about no longer using Xbox as the lowest common denominator, not making maximum use of max built out PCs?
Guess I better pre order that RTX 5090 but I fear it might be extremely CPU limited again, just like all flight simulators have always been. Well mostly single core performance limited. And using more cores effectively and equally to improve performance is apparently extremely difficult. So even if they improve the multiple core usage, idk if it will make enough of a difference. In my dream it would use all 32 cores of a 14900K or something at 100% but that aint happening 😌. I also really hope they do path tracing and ray reconstruction and not just the stupid kind of ray trang that just does shadows and or reflections.
IF PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE RUNNING FS 2020 AND HAVE TO CONFIGURE THERE SETTINGS THIS 2024 IS GOUNG TO BE A NIGHTMARE SO WHAT SUPER COMPUTER ARE WE GOING TO NEED
I am once again requesting pilot controlled lighting
The RTX 40 series is definitely gonna be recommended for this sim
Basically a game. There are so many tools missing in MSFS, especially extensive failures and access to them while in flight. Sticking to X-Plane 12
Not a game. PMDG aircraft are near study level and have extensive failures accessible during a flight. Available for MSFS.
Xplane is an iPhone game with FSX graphics.
Nobody's forcing you to move to the better experience provided by MSFS. Enjoy X-Plane.
i wish they add , hailstorm .
Is there any hope that my rtx 3050 + ryzen 5 4500 are going to be enough to play this game?
The outro music ? , name ?
Is this also coming to PC/Xbox Gamepass day 1?
Bill, yes that has been confirmed.
Will the streets be more alive??like more cars, better streets and more
What about BeamNGdrive crash physics ?
If I delete 2020 and download 2024, will all my aircraft that I have bought be deleted?
No. Most addons will transfer over
combat for combat aircraft?
I hope this becomes something like "FS2020 walked and limped so FS2024 could run" because these new features are beyond cool, but I want the sim to work well from day one, not be a jittery lagfest full of bugs
Cross fingers. Thanks for watching the video.
could i run this game on a pc that is beeing used to run msfs 2020?
What are your Pc specs mate?
No specs have been confirmed and depends what your current PC specs are. The new sim, will be more optimized than the current 2020 sim.
@@straigght well i can run the msfs 2020 at medium to high graphics
@@basicthunder yea then you should probably be able to run the new sim, because its gonna be way more optimized as well
Still no gyros? I'm hungry.
My pc is already crying
I would like to have an improved flight model as I’m a flight simmer
AI traffic needs to improve. It terrible.
I already see my pc burning
With current top end video cards struggling to render current visuals at acceptable frame rates all this extra eye candy is going to cripple most rigs. With Nvidia effectively baling out of GPU's in favour of diverting the silicon to more lucrative AI engines I suspect that it will be some time before consumer level GPU's (even eye-wateringly expensive ones) will actually be able to display all this new stuff at usable frame rates 😔
my computers ass just clinched…. and its a 7950x w/4090 and 64gb ram
Do these simulators show the earths curvature?
Remember the earth is flat.🤣🤣🤣
@@moitoi4064 100%
Lets just hoe that hey make taxing on the ground better, and assigning controls easer.
So what kind of super computer do you need to run this at better than 5 fps?
I think we maybe surprised on the specs needed. But i'm only guessing at this stage. thank you for checking the video out.
@@AusFlightSimmer 👍 no worries, thanks for sharing.
time to hit up apex gaming PC's and get a new one by the looks of this.
No way my system will cope with this.
I'm thinking of just trashing 2020 to open up storage space and replace it with 2024, rather than running them side by side.
No need to trash it. I have a 1TB SSD that will be the home for MSFS24.
You will be able to take pictures of ray traced animals out of the aircraft but not able to do a realistic crosswind takeoff or landing 🧐🧐😵💫
Or I hope they fixed the most essential lacks since FSX.
For those who think it's complicated, for the story crosswind landings and takeoffs were realistic in msfs2004. It disappeared in FSX and both P3D and MSFS relay heavily on this old engine.
I hope it changed as well as the ILS and visual landing aids absurdity.
What's the cost of the game?
Bit late on this one mate, seen this like 5 times already.
Not everyone has though.
Here we go again
Great I guess my 5950x and 3090 will have to become my desktop machine and I need to order a new 9950x 4090 Machine 😢
I have been waiting for my Throttles from ProDesk Sim for 3 months, this is unacceptable.
I'm assuming you have chased this up with them, as I agree 3 months is to long. Let me know if you think I can help.
Sounds like a need a nasa computer
if you dont have a 4090 card forget it.
The 4080 is the best price performance card at the moment. Cheers.
I doubt that's true. Lesser card owners will likely need to dial down the visual settings to get a decent experience. Not the end of the world.
@@imacmill I am running a 4080 super oc card in 4K with 80+ FPS and its butter smooth. I just upgraded from a 3090TI and what a difference. Cheers and thanks.
i just want better flight physics
All the lipstick and bling bling is nice but if it's anything like it's predessesor, ENDLESS loadin, Endless updates, Endless anything other than actually flying, then count me out. I wont be a sucker twice. My PC: i9 13th gen, 64 gb ram, RTX 1070, 600MPS download speeds, and MS FS22 still a swollen donkey.
I highly recommend you to upgrade mainly your graphics card... You're gonna need those higher FPS count brother!
You could get an RTX 30 series or even aim higher with an AI powered RTX 40 series. It's worth the upgrade because you currently have a *GTX 1070 which doesn't have RTX or DLSS technologies integrated*
Hopefully I will no longer be seeing dense forests covering 15,000 foot high mountain tops or random houses in the middle of the Greenland ice cap.
I live in Colorado and facepalm when I see the trees above 11k
Cross fingers.
