It's kinda sad to see X-Plane getting absolutely hammered by Microsoft after they single handedly carried the flight sim industry for 20 years, with so much passion for it. I hope Austin Meyer will work together with Google so that they can have Google Maps photoscenery

Meanwhile because I'm on Mac, I pretty much have to use X-Plane 12. The last revision went a long way to fixing what I thought was their weak point, crappy looking skies.

We shall see. By the time msf2024 comes out, many people will be making yt videos and then we will decide whether it is worth buying compared to msf2020. I certainly won't be standing in line to buy it. I'll wait and see. But it would be nice if we could walk around freely through a city or landscape, for example.
Yes, no doubt the new textures and physics of msfs24 will be great. However, I suspect the new sim will not be stable for many months. I also think it will be expensive with perhaps a 'base' version plus further subscription options necessary to really access all the new juicy details!

Because they have been hard at work they could off released it a while back trust me I’ve been closely following the project they seem to want to give the community a good product I hope they prove me right. Aerosoft at the begging was great when the original a320 family was great back in the day. Since pmdg, ini and fenix with msfs 2024 and msfs 2020 being now super advanced products I think aerosoft wants to compete once again

Yes the graphics are super but I think that Fs2024 is no more a flight simulator it became a GAME . I am very desappointed with the lots of stuff in the new FS2024. Asobo please think in the thousands of virtual pilots that use the simulator not to play with but to have a virtual flight very close to the real life. Thank you . Charles Simon

They mentioned in an interview I believe that in 2024 they’re treating VR as a platform rather than a feature. So the look at is as MSFS2024 for PC, Xbox and VR. So more resources will be used for it.

Anybody know if they have the save/resume flight bug fixed in this version? If it can't reload the flight plan I'm not sure what good this is. Deal breaker for me.
I wanted to see a VDGS Visual Docking Guidance System implemented. At the moment it is a mess, Noolaero VDGS, Aerosoft VDGS and even a freeware JKTools version of VDGS. Even GSX Pro has another version of VDGS. VDGS is NOT part of the default MSFS features. That was what I wanted to hear about and nothing was mentioned about it. I liked the video, great video and update. Your content has been awesome.
Just as long as they've fixed the atrocious stock ATC. So much wrong with it that I won't get into here, meaning people have resorted to mods. I was once pushed back forever and off the tarmac entirely because I couldn't get a word in edgeways with the ground controller to stop the push. Also the AI-assisted ATC just decides to fail during ILS go-arounds meaning you have to handle that manually at an already very busy and confusing phase of flight. And it constantly squealing about not being at my assigned altitude when I have been for 15 minutes already.
I was really looking forward to sloped runways in 2020 however a lots of airports eg LHR are far from correct with many undulations compared to real life. Also the mish mash of US and international style runway touchdown zone markings is a fairly basic mistake in 2020. Likewise the yellow taxi lines onto runways not matching the centreline and looking wavy is again a bit poor in 2020. Similarly runway lights on poles appearing on actual runways/displaced thresholds spoils a lot of airports I fly to in Norway in particular!
All of those are good but why i have the feeling that we will need an even bigger beast pc to run it? If this will be the case then i will skip the 2024 till the time will come for a new pc.
The same here. Recently I upgraded to 12900K and rtx4080, and finally got some decent fps and smoothness. If all those new "details" and graphical improvements will require 50% more graphic and CPU power, then I will stick with 2020 until 2028😂

I've just started using the filter that comes with GeForce experience ( Alt + F3 when in game ) to make changes to the colour, saturation, tint etc, makes a big difference to the look of the game. This looks fab though, will defo be getting this. I bought Aerofly FS4 in the steam sale, great in VR on the Quest 3 headset, only thing that lets it down is the resolution of the scenery and ground graphics....from about 20000 feet it looks great, especially taking off out of Alicante going north to East Midlands airport.
Question, I'm planning on buying an xbox series x to play flight sim (and other games ofc) Cause pc too expensive for me. Does anyone know if it matters what size the xbox is? 1Tb versus 500gb ? Will it matter in grapchics and stuff?
Azure and AI are going to be massive game changers to inject even more realism and life into this environment. Buggy and defective, surely. But itll iron out into a solid sim

MSFS is not a flight simulator, was, not now. Today and in future will be always a scenery simulator. If you like to feel the physical and dynamic of an aircraft, how the aircraft answers at determined situations , the simulation of flying, forget MSFS.
Forget any sim unless your in a multi million dollar Airbus or Boeing full motion simulator . The sims most of us use are for entertainment and learning about flight in general
I'm hoping the ATC and air traffic routing and sequencing are updated. These 'simulation' areas have been neglected in favour of focusing on eye candy in my opinion. Eye candy is nice and great for VFR but equal importance should be placed on IFR features and attention to detail.
It’s a little concerning that nothing has been announced there yet, but Jorg did mention in an interview that they will speak on that eventually. They claim that they’re making these careers authentic, so I would think that ATC would be a big part of that at least for the Commercial Flight stuff. Anyway, I guess we’ll see what they do

I have switched to X-Plane, been sim flying since 1992 but Microsoft are getting greedy now all they want is profit and more profit so they bring out a so called new version every two to three years. X-Plane with added Orbx scenary and airports is a winner by far as an alternative to profits come first Microsoft.

While I like how great 2020 looks, there's still a lot of errors, such as the road near me that is apparently a river with vans driving through it. And a roundabout or 3 on the A406 at the bottom of the M11 that look way out to how they look irl.

They mentioned in an interview I believe that in 2024 they’re treating VR as a platform rather than a feature. So the look at is as MSFS2024 for PC, Xbox and VR. So more resources will be used for it.

Anybody know if they have the save/resume flight bug fixed in this version? If it can't reload the flight plan I'm not sure what good this is. Deal breaker for me.
I wanted to see a VDGS Visual Docking Guidance System implemented. At the moment it is a mess, Noolaero VDGS, Aerosoft VDGS and even a freeware JKTools version of VDGS. Even GSX Pro has another version of VDGS. VDGS is NOT part of the default MSFS features. That was what I wanted to hear about and nothing was mentioned about it. I liked the video, great video and update. Your content has been awesome.

Just as long as they've fixed the atrocious stock ATC. So much wrong with it that I won't get into here, meaning people have resorted to mods.
I was once pushed back forever and off the tarmac entirely because I couldn't get a word in edgeways with the ground controller to stop the push. Also the AI-assisted ATC just decides to fail during ILS go-arounds meaning you have to handle that manually at an already very busy and confusing phase of flight. And it constantly squealing about not being at my assigned altitude when I have been for 15 minutes already.
so will we need to download this as a entirely new game? or will it simply update the 2020 game we have now? will our flight data transfer as well?

I was really looking forward to sloped runways in 2020 however a lots of airports eg LHR are far from correct with many undulations compared to real life. Also the mish mash of US and international style runway touchdown zone markings is a fairly basic mistake in 2020. Likewise the yellow taxi lines onto runways not matching the centreline and looking wavy is again a bit poor in 2020. Similarly runway lights on poles appearing on actual runways/displaced thresholds spoils a lot of airports I fly to in Norway in particular!
All of those are good but why i have the feeling that we will need an even bigger beast pc to run it? If this will be the case then i will skip the 2024 till the time will come for a new pc.
The same here. Recently I upgraded to 12900K and rtx4080, and finally got some decent fps and smoothness. If all those new "details" and graphical improvements will require 50% more graphic and CPU power, then I will stick with 2020 until 2028😂

smaller than 2020. They announced that last year that 2024 will relay more heavily on streaming content so the local foot print can be much smaller.

I've just started using the filter that comes with GeForce experience ( Alt + F3 when in game ) to make changes to the colour, saturation, tint etc, makes a big difference to the look of the game. This looks fab though, will defo be getting this. I bought Aerofly FS4 in the steam sale, great in VR on the Quest 3 headset, only thing that lets it down is the resolution of the scenery and ground graphics....from about 20000 feet it looks great, especially taking off out of Alicante going north to East Midlands airport.
Question, I'm planning on buying an xbox series x to play flight sim (and other games ofc) Cause pc too expensive for me. Does anyone know if it matters what size the xbox is? 1Tb versus 500gb ? Will it matter in grapchics and stuff?
Azure and AI are going to be massive game changers to inject even more realism and life into this environment. Buggy and defective, surely. But itll iron out into a solid sim

MSFS is not a flight simulator, was, not now. Today and in future will be always a scenery simulator. If you like to feel the physical and dynamic of an aircraft, how the aircraft answers at determined situations , the simulation of flying, forget MSFS.
Forget any sim unless your in a multi million dollar Airbus or Boeing full motion simulator . The sims most of us use are for entertainment and learning about flight in general

I'm hoping the ATC and air traffic routing and sequencing are updated. These 'simulation' areas have been neglected in favour of focusing on eye candy in my opinion. Eye candy is nice and great for VFR but equal importance should be placed on IFR features and attention to detail.
It’s a little concerning that nothing has been announced there yet, but Jorg did mention in an interview that they will speak on that eventually. They claim that they’re making these careers authentic, so I would think that ATC would be a big part of that at least for the Commercial Flight stuff. Anyway, I guess we’ll see what they do

I have switched to X-Plane, been sim flying since 1992 but Microsoft are getting greedy now all they want is profit and more profit so they bring out a so called new version every two to three years. X-Plane with added Orbx scenary and airports is a winner by far as an alternative to profits come first Microsoft.

Well, it’s not out yet so it’s hard to say for sure, but default aircraft often lack details found in planes from third parties (PMDG, Fenix, FBW)

While I like how great 2020 looks, there's still a lot of errors, such as the road near me that is apparently a river with vans driving through it. And a roundabout or 3 on the A406 at the bottom of the M11 that look way out to how they look irl.
