Great video full of good info Sedge. I purchased the MFS 400 System a couple of months ago after having it sitting in my Amazon Wish List for a while. It dropped in price and I went for it! Haven’t used it yet. But after seeing this video, I’ve already got several uses in mind. Thank you again. Looking forward to the follow up videos. Keep up the great work… 👍🏻
On my MFT I use a 1000mm profile as a "fence" -- I butt it to dogs dogs and clamp it in place -- and 4 of the 400mm profiles to make a square that I butt up against the 1000mm profile. I use that to square the rail to the fence. Doing cross cuts or rips I clamp the 400mm square and push the work piece against the square profile to make repeatable cuts. I'm sure there are other ways to do this and in future videos it would be interesting to see how to adapt the MFS profiles on the MFT for cuts.
Damaged my first MFS400 when I forgot to put back the template guide :) Still salvaged some of it by flipping it. Bought another one and the 2 together is quite versatile. Have used it often. Great accurate results every time. Square holes with steps are possible using different template guides (say 40mm and 17mm eg). Got rid of all the MDF jigs that have single purpose.
Great video, now to the elephant in the room, availability - it hasn’t been available in NA. Woodpecker has an extrusion system but not some of the cool add ones (puck for example). On a side note NA isn’t the only market that misses out, the Sys3 slides aren’t available in parts of Europe.
It was available here in the states up to about 6 or 7 years ago........ The reason for the video is that there are a lot of folks that have reached out for help in setting it up !!!
This can sometimes be purchased from Amazon UK and shipped to NA for either no charge or for a reasonable shipping charge depending on the whims of the Amazon algorithm through Amazon Global.
I had a job that I needed multiple templates for. I bought 20mm profiles and hardware to make my own. It works well obviously not a system like Festool. The support puck is a good idea might have to 3D print one
We can use it on doors with the provided brackets. But still did not use it like that to use the mfs as custum jig to make holes for door handles and locks
Never knew about the MFS , but now I do and I now know that I want it. And it is metric. Thanks Sedge for the video
Thanks for watching Ian !!!!

Great to hear! =The MFS is very versatile !!!!
Why oh why does Festool limit the distribution of such wonderful products so that they are not. available in North America?
That is a GREAT question Robb .... I really do not know .....
I can’t believe that the new MFT clamps aren’t available in the US.

Search thingiverse for FESTOOL MFSDIY if you haven't found plans for the puck already.

The first thing I did after seeing this was to try to buy one but found out it’s no longer sold in the US!
The MFS is still available in other markets...just not in North America...
Sedge since, Festool cancelled the MFS have you seen or used the Otterbox tool.
I have not
Two piece template guides are available in a set from Axminster Tools. The sizes are 10,12,14,16,18,20,24 and 30mm for $61.00.
Thanks Rick !!!!
Wish I would of bought it when I had the chance.
Still might find one kickin around on FB marketplace or Craigslist >>>>>>
Sedge, how do I go about buying this system?
Available in Europe ....
EBay Occasionally. I landed one a month or so back. Full set minus the 2000’s
Why is it not available in North America?
The MFS was at one time here in North America ....... Festool discontinued it for some reason...
