Even the claim "I'm not a woman" requires that the person saying it has a definition of "woman." How else would you know you aren't one?

As an ACTUAL therapist, reaffirming abnormal thoughts with her biased beliefs is malice against an at-risk population. Her job role exists because of political ideology, rather than a clinical necessity.

Not so long ago I was reaaally confused about my gender identity, I came out as genderfluid to my family and closest friends, and I talked about it with my therapist. Thank GOD I told her about it because it was absolutely eye-opening. Needless to say, I'm not genderfluid, I'm a woman, I'm proud of being one, and this society trying to erase what a woman is, is harmful. Today I saw a page on Instagram trying to ban the word "maternity" and "mother" because it wasn't gender inclusive. We are erasing and silencing women, it's so horrible that this is happening

On medicinenet website the definiton of male is simply "the sex that produces spermatozoa". The female definition though? Paragraphs long about how female "used" to be defined as the sex that produces ovum but they added a bunch of other shit to be woke.
Kinda crazy how my grandma’s generation of feminism made me feel empowered to be a woman and my generation’s version wants me to feel like shit all the time apparently.

As a girl who was a tomboy for the vast majority of my youth, including my teen years, I am so glad I grew up in a time where I was told I would grow out of it.
I did. I'm a girl and now I'm very happy to be a girl. Thank God no one told me to transition.
Even if you never grew out of it, women can have masculine traits and still be women. I don’t like how these just reinforce stereotypes of how a woman “needs” to behave.

Ditto! And now I'm a mega girly girl! Don't get me wrong I put up shelves can do most home maintenance and am a strong single mother but my gosh if this was around when I was young my crazy lesbian (not saying all lesbians are crazy but my parents where) would definitely of pushed my brother to be a girl and me a boy.
I also felt weird as a kid about my gender and I’m not trans. Just because some kids correctly predict they will be trans doesn’t mean we believe all kids. Sometimes kids are wrong like I was.
Around 5-12 years old I was a tomboy. I even said I wished I was a boy on several occasions. But when I hit puberty I got more in touch with my feminine side. I’m happy being a woman and I’m glad I didn’t grow up in this generation or I would’ve been convinced to mutilate my body.
I felt uncomfortable with my femininity as a kid and often chose boy clothes because of such. But now I love being a woman. If I grew up in todays would, they would of tried to make me trans

The fact that a woman can be forced to undress in a closed room in front of a man with penis who is sexually attracted to women and if they have a problem with it they are punished is dystopian beyond any measure. Even if only 1% of the population is transgender and has a $10,000 surgery, that averages out to $100 a person. Some people have $30,000 surgeries. Then, there is the cost of hormones, every month. Transgenderism is potentially a billion-dollar business; whereas, the average person who is not trans is worth nothing to the medical community. Also, there is all sorts of trans merchandising like flags, publications, phone cases, clothes, etc.; whereas, the anti-trans community has What is a Woman? and Johnny the Walrus.
This is all about business. It has nothing to do with popular morality.
I remember when I was 13-14 I changed my pronouns to they/them because I thought that’s how I felt. The reality was I just wanted to detach myself from what I was living at home and bad experiences I had with men as a girl. I was confused and vulnerable social media is such a big part of everything. Trans people are real but now everyone is suddenly trans because of how social media shows it and it makes me sad.
It's trauma and social acceptance, nothing more. Glad you found your way, but never stop finding it. Go with happiness.

When I was 15, I was a tom girl. I just wasn’t totally comfortable in ultra feminine clothing, and dressed a bit masculine and enjoyed more traditionally masculine activities like skateboarding, fishing, and sports.
A “friend” of mine who held far leftist views tried to tell me “maybe you’re non-binary or trans! You should explore that side of yourself”
I straight away said:
“no, I’m just a tom girl, I’m comfortable in my gender.”
They PUSHED BACK, insisting that I am repressing my true identity and that I should really consider that I am non-binary. I told them that I’m fully confident in myself and know who I am.
This same interaction went on for a couple days, and it did make me start to wonder after a bit: am I non-binary??
I quickly snapped out of it and realized that no, I am not and I shouldn’t allow a pushy person to make me question these things.
He gaslit me into questioning my own personal identity.
I’m mentally very strong and self aware, but teen years can be so confusing, and not everyone has that same mental toughness or security within their identity to push past someone saying such things to them. I think this is precisely the problem with seeing all the propaganda on social media, or adults who push for this or bring it up as an option. It can be so confusing and easy to fall into that trap.
Today, at 22 years old, I am a very feminine woman. I dress very girly, love to wear makeup, fix my hair, and enjoy traditionally feminine activities. I can’t imagine how unhappy and confused I would be today had I allowed myself to be convinced back then.
It’s a slippery, dangerous, slope that is hard to come back from. I have such empathy for these kids who have been gaslit into believing they are not who they were born as simply because of their own subtle differences from the “gender norms”.
I keep telling people this trend of focusing on gender in this way is a huge trap. They don't seem to get that all of us are a mix of masculine and feminine and the balance can shift from day to day and hour to hour. Now people insist that if you are more masculine you must in fact be a male, if you are more feminine you must be a female, and if your biology doesn't match you should change your facade. It's nuts.

I was almost the same when I was younger, I hated pretty much anything that was girly and because the boys would play soccer and stuff that I liked I always said that I wished I was a boy. Back then that was possible without people starting to say that you might be trans, seriously i maybe would’ve tried to transition if that was possible because I’d have NO idea how much impact that would’ve had. Now I am very feminine and am not at all someone who wants to chance their gender. You can’t let literal kids choose their gender. Maybe some already know they are trans but it’s way too risky to let them make decisions they will regret when they’re adults!
As a kid I dealt with gender issues. I was a tall tomboy who liked wrestling and weightlifting, I had severe issues with my breasts, I developed pcos and struggled with facial hair giving me a lot of invasive thoughts about whether or not I should have been born a man. If I had been born in today's political world I would have been pushed to transition and I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. Instead I went to therapy and addressed my ACTUAL issues regarding the trauma of why I didn't like my breasts, why I felt un-feminine (not masculine) and how it's OK to love things that are inherently considered masculine but in fact are just the way I show my own brand of femininity. I am a woman and while I may have struggled with that as a kid, as an adult I am fully embracing who I am as a woman. If I had transitioned into a man I never would have found my peace. I would have been searching on a road I didn't belong on with no real way back to myself. This push to transition kids is just absolutely disgusting and so incredibly harmful it makes me sick. It gives no quarter, if you have parts of your body you don't like you just automatically have gender dysphoria no ifs ands or buts about it. No diving deeper to find out the reasons, no delving into the why just purely rubber stamping a label on these kids and if you question it you are obviously a bigot.
Having PCOS doesn’t make you less of a woman. Liking masculine things which doesn’t fit the gender norm doesn’t make you less of a woman. You’re a woman because you’re an adult female human being. Im happy you got therapy and loved yourself instead of carving yourself up.

As a tall man I never understood why tall women felt that made them less feminine. I grew up when long legs were considered sexy. Love the name btw. When GOT was still good. Glad you worked on yourself instead of looking for a short cut. (Pun intended)
I am so glad that I grew up before all this awful “gender affirming” started to pick up. Cause as a Tom-boy who always wanted to be associated more with boys than girls I wouldn’t have stood a chance

Same. I've always been a very masculine woman but a woman nonetheless. Society doesn't like masculine women or feminine men these days because we don't fit their agenda.
Same. I ran around and played in the mud and climbed trees with the boys and was bored by games the girls wanted to play. In my baby book the first full sentence I apparently ever said was "When is Daddy going to make me a boy?" when I was under three years old. Regardless of that I do not have gender dysphoria, I just enjoy things that our society branded "for boys". If I had been born in the last ten years what a nightmare it would've been for me. :( It is an insult to people who actually struggle with gender dysphoria. And it just strengthens gender norms (which I thought the whole point was to break those down not make them worse?).

When I was a young girl I shaved my head, wore combat boots, Ben Davis and went to punk shows every weekend.
I was not gay, trans or confused. I grew up and became a MAC make up artist. Super femme. Young people need to express themselves. I can't imagine what life would be, if we all had to stay in the first identity we chose.

Today am a 56 year old woman with a 23 year marriage and 2 amazing children. I grew up a tomboy to the extreme and when asked what I wanted for my birthday/Christmas my answer were always " a penis". I also told my mom many times that I did not want breasts and that I was going to have it removed. My point is that if I was a teen today, I would have been easily convinced that I am really a boy and I would probably have been open to transitioning. Truth is, I was just uncomfortable with my changing body. I am so happy today that I grew up in a society that did not know this trans trend as I love my love, am comfortable and happy as a woman.
Most tomboys go trough the same as they enter puberty and sees the physical and psychological gap (because of different hormones affecting male and female brain) taking form between them and their male friends and relatives.
It is as if you were part of a brotherhood where gender did not matter your whole childhood, and one day your own body starts a process which gonna expel you from your little happy, innocent, carefree world. Spending time with the bOyZ becomes a completely different experience as they starts seing you differently because of your body which keeps changing thus causing unintentional sexual attraction, discomfort and shyness.
If i was a girl i would be very troubled going trough such a life experience, and modern day fraudsters would take advantage of it and probably diagnose it as gender dysphoria :/

as a child going to body changes is scary for a lot of children. the way we teach our children to be comfortable with themselves as they are changing is very important.
I’m an adult gay male and when I was a child, I loved playing with barbies, wearing wigs and dressing in princess clothes.
I never once thought I was a girl, I just enjoyed girls things. Eventually I grew out of it but I worry what would’ve happened to me if I were that child today. My parents might’ve thought I was trans and I’m so glad my parents didn’t think that when I was a kid.

Yes that was me except I was a big tomboy and actually, I do recall telling my parents I was a boy/wanted to be a boy, HOWEVER.. fast forward a few years later and I’m a 14 year old girl who is attracted to both sexes. So yeah, I’m happy my parents were not dumb enough to take a 7 year old seriously 😂

My younger girl cousin idolized me when we were kids. She would try to do bike tricks like me and one day when she was 6 she got ahold of some scissors and cut all her hair off to look like me. My aunt was pretty upset but we still laughed about it. She was a dirty foot tree climbing tomboy for a long time. But then she became a beautiful woman and is now a mother.. just because you like to play with boy toys or vice versa does not make you male or female

I was struck by how at least 3 of the interviewees ended or almost ended the interview because they didn't like being asked to explain their perspective. How can you claim to defend an ideology if you can't even defend it against the most simple basic questions?

Cognitive Dissonance. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but, I think they've been trained to respond in that way. The moment they're shown their hypocrisy or told their reality is wrong, they just kick into fight or flight, almost like they can't control it. I've even had best friends and family just immediately shut me down the moment they realize I know what I'm talking about more than they do. Its disrespectful as hell, but I try to tell myself they can't really help it.

i’m an adult now and still dealing with the fact that i had a rhinoplasty at 16 so i can’t even begin to imagine how that child who got a whole vaginoplasty at that same age will feel about the whole experience when they’re older. its very clear that a lot of these people don’t understand the ramifications of surgery, it’s not an easy one and done the way people think it is.

My dad, into retirement now, is still pretty self-conscious about his own nose job.
I’m just 16, and although I’m insecure ab my nose shape and really want a rhinoplasty, I think I’m quite fortunate to not have the money or consent to have one until I’m an adult. I might change my mind or become happier with my face shape in the meantime
I developed a large nose with a bump in it ,almost overnight in my teens. I couldn't bare to see myself in profile for years. I learned to live with it and never had a problem finding a boyfriend , was thought of as quite attractive in my youth and am glad I didn't have the funds or the desire to get a nose job. It's who I am and I am now in my sixties and it just doesn't matter. Learn to love yourself.

As a gay cis male, I liked the documentary. I had a conversation with a conservative, as a liberal, about transgenderism, and we both agreed that there are only two genders, and that the bigger problem is the strict boundaries around masculinity and femininity.
You lied, you weren't gay, if you were really gay you wouldn't have the idea that the world only had girls and boys.
While, I really don’t remember it ever being strict with women in my time growing up in the 90s. The early 90s and 2000s were the tomboy days, representation in media and movies, Clea Duvall(the faculty), Avril Lavigne, Lindsey Lohan(parent trap), etc Tomboys were celebrated and were not treated like they were less than or some other gender. Nowadays, it’s gotten more and more over the years in the media and movies that a Tomboy identifies as some other gender. With men it has always been more strict but the more than two genders movement does not help. Ironically, while going against society gender norms, they play right into it at the same time for it’s based entirely around the former.

@biggreen9845 I'd say its more of a problem with strict masculine norms. Each man is different, just as each woman is different, but that hasn't gotten as much attention.
I am honestly so glad I am a woman. I was always into cars, planes things that are "masculine" but I didnt feel like a man. As a child I was never really interested in barbies or dolls. It's just that I'm more interested in those things. I work on my car, I like to get my hands dirty. I've worked on CNC machines. Does that mean I'm supposed to look and feel like a man because others are saying "maybe your trans and you dont know it."? No, absolutely not. I know what I am, I'm a woman who like masculin things. That's it. 😊

Cars aren’t masculine or feminine. Barbies aren’t masculine or feminine. Just because a certain thing appeals to men or women doesn’t make them belong to that group. You can like whatever you want. I played with Barbie’s when I was in daycare. Sure, I acted like they were fighting. I didn’t dress them. You are who you are and you like what you like. You aren’t you solely based on what you like.

@@ra1lgunz268 When I was 14 (circa 2014-15) neither my psychiatrist nor my therapist did anything to critically assess my own self diagnosis as ftm trans. Just after I turned 16, I went to a psychiatric hospital and had a treatment team there that would affirm anything I said identity-wise whereas questions about my depression and ptsd always had follow ups. The only ones who turned out being right, when I mostly grew out of my body dysphoria throughout 16-17, were my parents; who engaged in watchful waiting.

Im 28 this week. I remember around elementary doing an exercise to describe “what is a cat” or you chose the animal i think. The point was to show how specific you need to be. Its not just an animal with four legs. Lots of animals have four legs. It has whiskers. Lots of animals do. Etc etc

I remember viewing a segment where they discussed using hormone blockers prior to puberty and the doctor said it had no negative effects on the development of the child which is untrue. Hormones serve multiple purposes in development and bodily functions other than secondary sexual characteristics. A child on hormone blockers can develop osteoporosis, for example. This has become a big fat money making grift.
These are the same doctors, parent, teachers and politician etc. who would also be completely opposed to teenagers having access to anabolic/androgenic steroids (for sports/athletics)...precisely "because they are powerful hormones that can do alot of damage if used recklessly" . When being referred to in a sports context, the shrieking you hear about hormones would make you think, they could kill a teen simply by looking at the stuff, but when you change the topic to transitioning...all of sudden these are the most benign substances on earth.....

I was a tomboy growing up, if being transgender was an option when I was in middle school, I would have 100% thought I was meant to be a male and that I should transition. Fast forward to my sophomore year of high school, I started wearing more cute clothes and being "girlier" and started growing into my own body and being comfortable with it. Puberty changes you, putting children on puberty blockers should NOT be a thing in my opinion, especially with how impressionable they are at that age and with all the hormones and emotions that they don't know how to handle. Let kids be kids. If they want to make lifechanging decisions as an adult, that's on them.
The point is that you didn't have to be "girly" or wear cute clothes to be a girl... you just are... even if you're a "tomboy". Assigning clothes, activities, toys, colors, hairstyle, etc. to a gender is all just human invention and has changed throughout history. Perpetuating gender stereotypes and norms is what confused people. If only people were taught to like whatever they like and that it doesn't affect biology, and be there for kids who are uncomfortable with their bodies during puberty and help them to love themselves, there'd be less people who have an identity crisis.

It is kind of nuts to me that I had the hardest time finding a doctor at the age of 16 to just get a reduction due to serious back and body pain. But now a 12 year old can get their parts removed...what the actual fck. Even just a reduction is such a big decision.
I went through the same thing!! I never ended up getting the reduction because of all the crap I had to go through and being told I would regret it when I was older, etc. I even had records from chiropractors and an orthopedist saying my back and neck problems were caused by my small frame and large breasts.
I hate that for you. I’m 35 years old, I have two children, I have absolutely zero desire to have anymore, children, and because of my severe endometriosis, for which I have already had three surgeries, I want a partial hysterectomy. There is absolutely no need for me to suffer through debilitating periods for the next 15 or 20 years. But they won’t do it because, “but you might want more children.“ 🙄🙄🙄

My mom and I were talking and she told me when she was a kid she wanted to be a boy.. she even told my grandma that. She dressed in typically male clothes and had a short haircut. Same! I played pretending I was a boy as young as 4 and at some point around 10 wished I had a penis and was a boy. Guess what, kids can go through phases like this! I am so glad I was born and grew up without someone encouraging those thoughts… I am so grateful to be a woman as an adult and I am 36 now. I was a tomboy and I think it largely contributed to my thinking as a kid, but I wouldn’t be happy today if I had transitioned. I think all kids may have thoughts (to varying degrees) like that as they grow up: to encourage those thoughts so early on in life before you have lived as a fully grown adult can be so damaging.
Omfg top surgery AT TWELVE?!?!? That’s insane to me. I grew up loving to wear dresses and would put tshirts on my head and twirl facing the wall for hours because my shadow made the shirt look like long hair and I was fierce… I only loved playing with girl toys and I always gravitated towards the girls in school. But none of those things meant I was trans, or at an age I could make a decision like that! And thank god I didn’t because I’m a proud gay male.. period.. My 4 uear old boys have long hair because I think it's cute! But it has started to annoy me how controversial it seems to be and how many people are like "oh they need a haircut!" Or "are you ever gonna cut their hair?" My husband said that there was a time when he wanted long hair, but was too afraid to ask for it. I find it annoying that it's perfectly normal for women and girls to have short hair, but men and boys can't have long hair.
I feel like gender norms are a lot more strict for boys than girls. It's perfectly normal for girls to be tomboys, but not the other way around. Children's likes and dislikes shouldn't be tied to their gender. Kids are kids just experiencing the world. They will do what they will do. Their gender is their gender. If they have issues with it later then you can discuss it and work through it. But people need to stop pushing gender politics on children. If my son asks to put on nail polish or makeup when I do, I'm not going to tell him no.

Dr. Zucker in Canada who worked with "gender confused" children & their families for 40 yrs. found that many of those children turned out to be gay, some bi, or hetero.

I have been around many children, nanny, babysitter, tutor, etc. Little boys around 4 or 5, if around girls/sisters will sometimes just want to have fun, and play dress up, put on fingernail polish, etc. That usually ends @ 5, when they go to school.

He had long hair, and did look like a girl. Nobody cares.

It's taken me into my 30s to accept that I prefer women. I still have a hard time saying "lesbian", as silly as that is. My father did NOT respect women and I knew it.. I’m a friend woman, a mother, and had never felt like anything other than a tomboy. I love sports, I loved tools and fishing, getting dirty, and refused to wear dresses. In high school I embraced my girlie side being in female dominant sports (gymnastics, dance) and discovering that part of myself. But I never once felt like a boy. The insanity nowadays.
Blaire. You are the first person who I have heard emphasize the sterilization aspect of gender transition. There is no way a child can understand what giving up being a parent really means. And you know what? Being a grandparent is 1000x more profound than being a parent - and they're giving that up, too. No, voluntary sterilization is NOT a concept a child can understand, and frankly, it's pretty difficult for adults also.
What kills me is women who are cis under about 35 that desperately want to be sterilized or need a hysterectomy for one reason or another have an almost impossible time getting approval. It doesn't make any sense why trans care has gone through such radical change so quickly, when cis women still have to jump through hoops to consent to things about their body. If a 27 year old cis woman cannot consent to sterilization per their crazy standards, how can a teenage trans person?

When you no longer can get sterilized so easily and have to jump through the same hoops a cis woman does, then my entire point is no longer relevant.

Not all kids who feel like the opposite gender at some time during their young lives will be trans, so we SHOULDN'T be treating them like they ALL are just bc they say so. It's a topic that needs a lot more care and consideration as to how it should be handled, as it could ruin some of them if it's not handled correctly. Just affirming right of the bat isn't necessarily the way to go in all cases.
I was a tomboy as a kid, my parents never asked if I thought I was a boy. My parents didn’t try to push femininity on me, they just loved me for me. I am now pretty feminine and I appreciate that I was allowed to be me without this push of questioning my gender. My parents didn’t fit typical gender roles either, because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

The concept of a “gender affirming” therapist is vicious. I wanted to help my parents with my trans sibling trying to find a therapist for them. I settled on someone who was “gender reaffirming” because I thought it meant they had experienced with LGBT. Next thing you know they are advocating for my sibling to go on hormone blockers. I even went to them for a single session, before the end they asked “when’s the last time you’ve had a panic attack?” To which I replied last week, but had never experienced panic attacks prior to that event. They were quick to give me medication for panic attacks anyways. Ridiculous

My dad had a work colleague who had daughters. When we hung out (aged 8-9) I played with their Barbies. My dad didn’t care and he’s an Iranian. He saw it as me learning to develop communication with girls. Kids are interested in EVERYTHING.

I am a lesbian and more masculine/androgynous and until I was about 24/25 I did question my gender. It took me actually having short hair at one stage and someone misgendering me as a guy to realise I am 100% a woman. I realized the dangers of supposed universal truth in my own life. Like a therapist diagnosing me with Aspergers at 5, following the supposed truth in regards to it. Little did people realize that secluding a child from the majority often exacerbates their already troubled social nature. Happened to me and it took a long time to learn from it. Not nearly as invasive as this minutia, but hammers home the point that small changes in an environment can have drastic repercussions later on. Especially in a society weird by networking, not knowing. I know a lot, but know very few people repercussion.
I used to dress like a boy through out middle and high school. I didn’t feel pretty in girl clothes bc I struggled with my weight up until I was 23/24. Just texted my father and thanked him for actually being my parent and not being “woke” bc if he was I probably would have ended up really confused with the group of people I was surrounded by at the time.
Imagine going to a "depression affirming" therapist and have them tell you whatever you want to hear... Also, these psychos need to come up with at least their own bogus but non circular definition of "woman".

You can't compare depression to gender dysphoria. I speak as someone with depression. I've tried to kill myself a few times and have been in hospital. You go to the doctor to find a solution to that problem. The problem to depression is trying to figure out with what is causing those problems. For me, it was medication to help, along side therapy and a change in lifestyle.
For trans people, that can either be therapy and exploring these feelings, or, if absolutely dead set on transitioning (remember, many of these people are on the spectrum), going forward with a closely supervised path to transitioning.
To think about 2 medical problems and expecting them to have the exact same medical solutions is so reductive it's ridiculous.

I have social anxiety which, among other things, causes certain paranoid delusion about socializing with people. Things like “everyone dislikes you”. It also comes with an extreme urge to isolate from others. If a therapist were to confirm these things as true I’d never leave the house.

When I first thought I got my period I had a panic attack. During puberty I hated wearing skirts and dresses. Now, nearly 30 I love dresses and skirts. If my 12 year old self was here today it would be so easy to groom and manipulate me into being trans - which I'm not.

Couldn't agree more. If kids are too young to consent that should be for all adult decisions including changing sex. If they are 18 and fully developed and still feel they are in the wrong sex then they can make an informed decision as an adult. I know a program I am Jazz who had so much female hormones as a kid the penis didn't develop enough for them to even make into a vagina, hormones are detrimental to the kids development, should absolutely be banned before adulthood.

Im a dog person ( not identify as a dog I just prefer dogs over cats ) so I know their ways. They can identify female and male dogs without any problem. Some dogs are gay too.

Hey there, science based dog trainer here. We have a pretty good idea that dogs are not self aware to the extent that they are capable of thinking in terms of self identity, at least not on a complex level. We also know that they do not communicate or interract with humans in the same manner that they do with other dogs, and that their emotional development stops at a level that is comparable to a toddler. They know we are different, and develope a different way of interracting with us. Questions that have to do with exactly what they are just don't occur to them, they just behave, it's a combination of instinctual and learned behaviors.
What annoys me about the whole "assigned at birth" b.s. is that I've heard people basically say the doctor is somehow determining the child's whole life from begining to end as a result of being "assigned" male or female. Like the doctor is some kind of prophet. It's ridiculous, and just one more simple thing they just have to try to complicate for no real reason.

At my old company, a coworker came out as transgender and we received a long, detailed email informing us of their transition and making it crystal clear that any “deadnaming” or “misgendering” would be met with swift discipline up to and including termination. This person has been with the company for several years and working with the same people for several years, I can’t imagine how scary it was for them to know this person as name X one day then name Y the next and if they happened to forget to use the new name or pronouns, they could be punished. BTW, the person still presented as their original gender as well.
I was so happy this person was in a different department and I didn’t have to communicate with them. The pressure was too much just from the email. :/
I came out as trans to my workplace and I'm glad there was no big email. I just told a manager I trusted who was very sweet. We gradually worked out a new nametag and the whole pronoun thing over a period of a few weeks. I made sure to like it trickle in rather than drop the bombshell all at once.
Coming out is important but it act like everyone should get used to a new name and pronouns overnight is a rather narcissistic concept. I also leave it more on the table with pronouns so that when I am called "she" it's not out of fear, but genuine respect. No one has maliciously misgendered me to be rude and I'm very glad I took that approach for myself and everyone around me.

when i was 14 i was assaulted by a friends older boyfriend. it made me very scared of being a woman. Then when i was around 17-18 i really wanted a boyfriend but thought I’d never make anyone happy because I was so scared of intimacy and had a repulsion to being touched by men. i remember looking up things on the internet about being trans and I was extremely interested in it and thinking of myself as a man made me feel strong and powerful. but it seemed so hard and alienating to pursue. So I came out as gay and had a girlfriend, as my friends where all lgbt, but looking back it wasn’t really for me. i never went further with it and at 26, I have had 2 meaningful long term relationships with men and have a good relationship with intimacy and my body. I couldn’t imagine being a teenager in that state now, I feel I’d have deff made a bad decision.

I'm a gay man. As a kid I felt like it was more fun to play with dolls, wear my mom's makeup and high heels, I liked feeling like a girl. AND THAT'S ABSOLUTELY NORMAL for many gay boys to feel that way, doesn't nessessarily means that you're trans... I feel like in a decade or two, the trans community will be suffering from higher rates of depression and unhappiness.

I was a tomboy and was always told by my mom I couldn't do a lot of things cause "it was for boys". So after a long period of time being called masculine by peers and such I socially transitioned as ftm. Almost started hormones, but I was that way for 9 years and I still haven't detransitioned even socially to some people. I have lost friends due to no longer being trans. It's sad but some people use LGBT for their own image, and the way society is now. I lost myself and found my way back and people wanna punish me for that. Wasn't that whole movement being able to find and be yourself? Don't seem that way no more.

I like to say that transpeople are very confused sexists for just this reason. Men and women should be able to decide what they want to wear or do but trans people transition because they believe this arbitrary line that defines what women and men are when really you may just be a woman who enjoys things more typically enjoyed by men. There isnt an endless amount of genders, there is an endless amount of personality types and gender advocates tend to confuse those.(joke about them not understanding the concept of individuality because they are all npcs goes here)

I was a pretty feminine kid. I liked rainbow bright, my little pony, sailor moon. I was quiet and bullied. Wished I was a girl the whole time. But I never thought I *was* a girl. I've got a sibling 17 years younger than me that had a double mastectomy and started taking testosterone. I've never judged them once, except that they were overly influenced by Tumblr. I love every part of them. But they stopped taking T. Trans regret is a real thing. I thought I was a hippie in 1998 and a punk in 2000 and an Emo in 2003. Now I'm just an old bald man with a GREAT record collection and boring outfits

When I was younger I wanted to be a boy. I told my mom and she responded “you’re not a boy you’re a girl and that’s ok.” I’m so glad she said that.
I remember saying to one of my friend I wanted to be a boy, he asked me why and I said ''Well, I am tired to feel like I am less than a boy'' and he said to me that wasn't a reason and I needed to get confidence in myself and stop listening to people who discriminate without even knowing the person. I know this is an old video, but you missed the fact that this documentary espouses some misinformation. 1. It says at one point that John Money coined the term ‘gender identity’ but he didn’t. 2. Matt Walsh made it out that that Dr Kingsley asked children how many orgasms they had, but he actually didn’t. Kingsley actually asked adults and asked them about how many orgasms they HAD as children. 4 The film (spoiler alert) features Matt Walsh going to a Virginia school where he calls some people who work there child groomers because they have trans inclusive policies. The film makes it out that a trans girl raped a girl in the bathroom there, but the rapist was actually a boy crossdressing who didn’t identify as trans. There’s more misinformation in the documentary but those are some of the examples.
First off, I'm an extremely conservative heterosexual man in my early 30s.
However during my early adolescence I thought I might be gay. Weird thing is, I had zero attraction to men whatsoever. So what was my reasoning for questioning my sexuality?
I liked men's fashion & watching movies/TV shows like "Center Stage" or "Sex and the City". THAT'S IT.
Yet despite being an extremely intelligent individual, I was stupid to the point of thinking having an interest in a given topic meant I was gay. Luckily I wasn't encouraged or discouraged about how I felt, my parents just listened.
And despite my mom (an off the boat Irish woman & devout Catholic) thinking I might be gay (bc of my aforementioned interests) she didn't encourage or discourage anything. She told me she'd love me no matter what but that I was a kid & I'd understand my sexuality as I got older. And she was right.
Now I look back & think "What kind of a moron were you" but luckily I was just an ignorant & confused kid & nobody pushed me to think a certain way.
I understand sexuality is different from transitioning but I'm saying this to illustrate the stupidity of even intelligent teens. Kids are dumb & ignorant.
As such, kids should NOT be allowed to make permanently life-altering decisions.

As a gay man I had quite the literal opposite experience. I was always told how to act and conform to a straight lifestyle. I was raised catholic and my entire life up until middle school I was only met with straight couples, both in my daily life and on media. There was only straight representation and I had grown up believing being gay was wrong. When I was in middle school I wished that I would wake up straight and that my sexuality could change because the norm is to be straight and I wasn’t conforming to it. I didn’t act stereotypically gay and to this day most people wouldnt even suspect me being gay, but we exist. People in my life only started having problems with me upon learning my sexuality and I wish I knew from a young age that it’s okay to be who you are. People have such a fear of young kids “destroying their lives” and how parents shouldnt “force ideas onto kids” when Catholicism was forced onto me growing up, causing more damage to me mentally than being gay ever will. Not every kid who thinks they’re gay is gay, just as not every kid who thinks they’re straight is straight. It was forced into my mind growing up that I had to be straight and I had to have a wife and kids some day, and it took me years to accept that I’m gay and religion wasn’t going to change that. The right seems to be overly concerned with topics of sexuality when it comes to children as they dont think kids should know this stuff, but the point of pride and representation in general is to let those kids out there know that they can be themselves, and not about shoving a sexual lifestyle in kids’ faces. If someone is worried that their kid is going to end up gay, then they have their own problems going on. Sexuality ≠ someone’s sex life and I’m tired of the media especially right wing media painting all things lgbt as sexual and violent when in reality they just disagree with lgbt and will take any talking point no matter how stupid it is and run with it. Just as we dont prosecute all priests for the sexual actions of some of them, we shouldn’t put all lgbt people under the same umbrella as those who are pushing a sex life onto kids.
My sex drive was so pronounced when I went through puberty there's no way I could be confused about who I wanted to f*** lol
@@whomfst I’m not right wing, and I think lgbt is normal. However, coming to the US, and experienced pride parade accidentally, I thought lgbt organization is all about s*x. There was a guy only wearing underwear. Kids were there too. I was in my teen, but I was shocked seeing that. The lgbt organization is just going under at this point for me. They pushed for many questionable things lately too that even my aunt, who is trans, strayed away from that organization. The right wing might be against all lgbt. But the everyday group like me don’t agree with the organization.

However that's got ZERO to do with what I said. All I was stating was that kids are confused & stupid. They've never had sex, they're barely familiar w/the various urges they're experiencing & often suffer from extreme insecurity/anxiety as teenagers.
As such, their ideas about sexuality shouldn't be accepted as factual statements bc so much is in flux at that age. And it's ESPECIALLY true when it comes to allowing a (typically) transient belief about their sexuality (like me thinking I was gay or the epidemic of girls saying they're trans) as a justification for usually PERMANENT & potentially IRREVERSIBLE medical procedures, some of which may render them INFERTILE.
So say what you want about conservatives, Catholics, etc.
In reality, the VAST majority of people (IMO 95% of all normal people & 75% of trans rights "supporters") are against giving puberty-blocking drugs, gender-reassignment surgery & sex hormones to children, based on nothing more than a statement from the child.
I'm willing to bet there's about to be an EXPLOSION in medical malpractice lawsuits against plastic surgeons & endocrinologists who perform gender-reassignment surgery, elective mastectomies, M2F breast augmentation and/or offer estrogen/testosterone replacement therapy. There are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of kids who will be permanently damaged by this. But it's not the kids fault, it's the doctors & the parents who should feel disgusted & ashamed for their utter dereliction of duty.
I’ve a client who has been in therapy for a year now. When I started seeing them, they wanted to transition and now they identify pansexual. It’s very concerning to see a therapist indoctrinating their ideas to their clients.

Pansexual just finds both equally attractive, but is almost identical to bisexual. Demisexuals are sexually attracted to personality, not gender or appearance. Asexuals just aren't sexually attracted to people and want nothing to do with sex, though can still be romantically interested in others.

As a college educated woman in my 20s, I used to be 1000% all for everything to do with LGBTQ+ activism and advocacy.
Now though, the pendulum has swung too far. Call me a terf, call me a transphobe, call me whatever...but first and foremost, I am a WOMAN, and I will support and protect women's rights and safety and spaces. The trans narrative has crossed the line into something insidiously anti-woman (and anti-gay!), and I am no longer a supporter.
These so-called 'advocates' need to be careful. They're pushing so hard and so far, in such a short span of years, that they're going to end up doing more damage than good to the cause of the LGBTQ+ community.
This was the first year in nearly a decade I did not celebrate Pride in any way, shape, or form. 💔

If I was a little kid today I know for sure I would’ve been sucked into the trans ideology. I hated my developing body. I felt uncomfortable. A year before I was playing with dolls and now I have breasts and hips, and grown men are being creepy with me. Of course a young girl is going to feel uncomfortable with a growing body she doesn’t understand yet.
Now as an adult, I am happier with myself and my gender. I accept and love the gender I was born as and would never want to change it now like how I did when I was a kid. It’s normal for children to feel uncomfortable about their gender, especially during puberty. It’s such a confusing and awkward time for everyone.
so instead of pushing the trans agenda we should address the bigger problem. The creeps that make kids feel uncomfortable with their bodies to the point of thinking of transition as a way of salvation from them.

The crazy, sad, and down right cruel irony of all of this, is that I feel a lot of women undermine the value and exceptionalism of womanhood by accepting insanity. If you can't define what a "woman" is, what value does a woman have? I'm not exactly sure how to explain what I'm saying, but I just think women hurt their own cause in a lot of indirect ways lately.

Honestly I think the trans community was starting to be accepted until non-binary people became more "popularized" and the whole pronoun craze started. People just disagreed about some of the bathroom/sports issues but that was about it. Once people started yelling at others about pronouns and making it their entire identity is when it became fatigued.

Right now there is legislation being considered whereby it would be a criminal offence for any doctor or licensed medical practitioner to provide a minor ANY therapy or mental health diagnosis OTHER than to advise the child they are trans and then order medical gender reassignment. In others words they may be forced NOT to consider nor discuss, OCD, anxiety, body dysmorphia, CPTSD, misogynistic discomfort, normal pubescent insecurities, bipolar, etc, etc.

This movie has me scared for my 3-year-old niece who likes to be called "handsome" instead of "pretty" and who doesn't like to wear dresses. I am legitimately scared for her.
I will preface this with the statement that I have not seen the movie. However, I am a mother. I had 4 brothers and all male cousins. My mom had to force me into dresses half the time. Also, your niece is THREE. According to the most recent data (site: Psychology Today,) Evidence from the 10 available prospective follow-up studies from childhood to adolescence (reviewed in the study by Ristori and Steensma28) indicates that for ~80% of children who meet the criteria for GDC, the GD recedes with puberty.
In layman's terms, the plurality of GD children will have grown out of said dysphoria upon or shortly after the onset of puberty.

I think the movie didn't cover trans success stories because there is so much of that being pushed already and the documentary was aimed at getting people to see the major problems with having such a one-sided view all the time and the dangers of not speaking up and being honest about where this has gone, is now, and is headed.

sanguine, I don't see Blaire White as agreeing with Matt. I think Matt is anti-trans, not just anti-trans activism. Matt would not want Blaire in the movie because she represents transgenderism in a reasonable way. This would interfere with the message that all things trans are misguided. My .02.

Blaire does not support the anti-trans message of Matt and the anti-trans community, and would interfere with their messaging if she were in the movie. The objective was to put transgenderism- not just trans-activism- in a bad light. Blaire may respect Matt in some way, but I don't think the reverse is true- at all.

Having Blair involved would mean having to go beyond what a woman is and also having to define what a transgender is, what a transsexual is, and how neither of these have anything to do with trans ideology.
You could literally make a movie called "What is a Transgender" and it would have exactly the same disgusting politics broadsiding the actual question as "What is a Woman" did. The only difference is that Kenyans wouldn't be able to discuss transgenderism because they know nothing about the genetic anomalies that make up actual transgenderism (such as 46XY androgen insensitivity, chimeras, or Kleinfelter's). Hell, the so-called sex chromosomes were only discovered in 1905 and it only took a few years for science to discover those chromosomes influenced but didn't actually dictate a person's sex, which in turn led to the scientific theory of agender (X and Y chromosomes matching biological sex) vs transgender (X and Y chromosomes NOT matching biological sex or there being an abnormal number of the chromosomes present).
Thanks for being incredibly fair and honest in your review. The one thing that really stuck out to me from the documentary is the LGBTQ+ community have become a target of huge money making industry via biopharma, faux-therapists, tokenism in movies/shows, medical industry, political and social clout. Hopefully more research and healthy dialogue will contribute to more informed decision-making and understanding.

A couple thoughts come to mind. First, a few years ago I attended a talk by a trans woman. One of the things that struck me was when she spoke of a memory of a conversation with her dad. She was about 8-9 years old, and dad was signing them up for a sports team. They said they asked why, when "none of the other girls have to play". Hearing you talk about feeling different at 5 makes me wonder if that's the sign of "genuine dysphoria". Especially when I think of people that I know who talk about transitioning just because people on the phone mistake them for women (yes, I've heard that).
The other thought is about a young person I know. Came out to (divorced) parents as gay when they were about 9-10. Then told dad they're non-binary some months ago. He blew up, saying this was some crap they learned in school, and AFAIK the kid hasn't seen him since.
Now... dad is pretty misogynistic. When mom told me this, my first thought was that the child did that to get a "rise" out of dad- and succeeded. So are they actually NB? I don't know. But I hope that no disfiguring decision is made for a few years yet.
