    One thing I rarely see is people compressing their ore rather than reprocessing it.
    A lot of big corporations buy compressed minnerals to ship out to lowsec or 0.0 to build capital ships.

      ive been compressing since i got my first venture... its actually a very efficient way to stockpile so you dont have to deal with it when you load the gutted out Tayra and off to Jita...The only thing I havent compressed is Talassonite ( dont think it can compress) The ore is undervalued so im keeping it. When i finally omega, ill be shelling out for a roqual to smash and compress...

    I love being a small cog in a big wheel! I produce tech I items after having a little play about with invention - and deciding that it wasn't for me. My profit margins are not boast worthy, and my sales are not huge.. but I enjoy the things I do and I regularly fill gaps in the market. I also mine a lot and I know my sold on compressed ores go into building larger hulls. :)

    Love the entry level talk.
    Another point for the BPO piece: for cheap BPOs (ammo, modules, rigs), having multiple copies of an original can make life easier. More throughput, more options, less risk... Less needed for T1 stuff, but for T2, it's a huge advantage to have a high count of originals (esp components and T1) can make a big difference in final throughput.
    EDIT: also, totally disagree with T2 conclusions. It's a misnomer that people need to be able to do their own reactions. To be a pure producer, and just source adv materials from Jita is absolutely doable. To expect to "DIY materials" your adv material supply is a HUGE logistical undertaking, and absolutely not required as a T2 producer.

    • @delonewolf
      @delonewolf  8 лет назад

      +John Purcell what type of items would you say are doable solo for T2 production because ships seems out of reach to me.

    • @JohnPurcell
      @JohnPurcell 8 лет назад

      It all depends on your production purse. Ships are hard because you really need to use decryptors and understand the component market to deliver in quantities worth the effort.
      On the other hand, ammo/drones are great starter markets, and if you are focusing on parallelization, you can use up a lot of passive-hours for pretty decent margins. Personally, my favorite solo-market was guns/launchers, though you need to keep a finger on the local/global metas to avoid building too much.

    Tech 2 and tech 1 rig production in low sec FW areas in capital systems like huola, tama, kamela, sisiede, and etc work very well especially for small to medium stuff because many pirates will pay the extra price to get it closer then have to go to amarr since there sec is low and it takes along time.

We have sell to other large scale manufacturers in eve who contact a Salesman, tells the sale-man what they want, and then they pay for it (usually in the millions), the salesman sends the order down to accounting and Transport. And Friday’s and 4pm est, all order leave the refinery and are delivered to the client

    Outdated or not, I found this really interesting. Especially the cost changes, gains made through processing your own minerals into commodities or in this case ammunition. I sincerely hope new players don't scoff at the chance for mining your own materials, because it saves you a fortune and really, you could do what I do and play Kerbal space program whilst you're mining.
    Two birds, one stone, a couple of million ISK.

    If you make ships vs making ammo, is there a better way to haul out cruisers/desies to sell as a t1 hauler. Was thinking of getting a orca but thats 850m+ and harder to get solo off pure mining and moving 3 cruisers or 7 dessie at a time. Any suggestions?

      delonewolf Im about 8 Jumps from amarr, but 3 are around 50+- AU so it takes a little, but just for purley moving ships, is spending 300m+ more isk and over month worth of training worth getting a freighter vs 15d orca. Are you planning any updates with these types of videos? I don't really have much time to play so most of my time is spent setting up more passive ways to make isk which is why I am mostly doing industry. I'd really like a more comprehensive guide on pi. Right now I have 4 planets setup in lowsec which if managed properly would net me about 280mil. I'd really like to get to the point where it would net 1bil a month but I am unsure on how to go about it.

    T2 production is what all the big industry earners are doing in H-Sec, they're not mining though. Its all purchased via market. Usually done by one person with 3+ accounts focused around industry.

    • @delonewolf
      @delonewolf  8 лет назад

      +Jack Powell what kind of margins can you expect?Daegarn found a bpc for an endurence and it didn't look that great.

    • @jakspyder
      @jakspyder 8 лет назад

      +delonewolf I'm not the expert. my friend does this and is able when pushing to bring in a billion a day across 3 accounts. The key is wrapping your head around invention. that's what T2 is all about. also the market moves fast. you can't produce something forever. After 2 weeks the margins plumet as T2 industrial players produce starts reaching market and then yoy have to move to new items. meaning you need to be able to produce almost everything to be able to rapidly shift. The up front isk capital is also huge which means it's something for the wealthier players.
      that said it is big cash. but it's likely to be entirely production based and with numbers of isk that stretch trust limits. as such almost all T2 industry is done by single players and their alts.
      There are plenty of guides out there, so have a look. you'll need some godlike spreadsheets to keep on top of what items are profitable.
      that said, T1 industry is actually profitable now after the industry changes so it's not so critical to push into T2 anymore. previously the T1 production was ruined by the MIMAF crowd.

    • @adriaans2
      @adriaans2 8 лет назад

      +Jack Powell As someone who has done and is doing full 150 slots, now 91 slots, production and science, let me clarify a few things regarding t2 production;
      1 billion a day, extremely unlikely unless that also involves significant trade profit (buying things cheaper than normal, selling things higher than normal). At these volumes 90 slots would bring, selling it all at higher than normal price is very, very difficult. Not impossible, but such a ratio is unattainable for most.
      T1 can and does have as good profit as T2 and in several cases also higher, the problem is you cant usually sell it fast enough, though that problem is present in large scale t2 production too. T2 production however does not need blueprints to be researched making it easier to switch items. Therefore, for t2 production, be prepared to have a library of thousands of blueprints and often major stockpiles of t2 bpc's as profit ratios change.
      Investment costs are as high as you make them, just like with T1, fulltime production of t1 battleships would for instance put a serious financing strain on most people, just like high end t2 production will.
      T2 production due to mainly being done through copies requires a lot more attention than longer run t1 production.
      A good starting point for T2 production can be T2 components, cheap BPO's, fast to research, sells well and often at good profit rates in most hubs (high sec only mostly), and teaches you the component market which directly influences end product profitability. Longer runs also benefits from long run material discounts.
      Can confirm t1 items are very profitable lately, seems to be less producers maybe, or perhaps finally all the idiots who think minerals they mine are free stopped being idiots.

    • @jakspyder
      @jakspyder 8 лет назад

      +Roald Ankaa Ziggy Adriaansen as I mentioned he peaked at 1b a day. He changed items ahead of most by making good use of in game political knowledge and such. He stockpiled low price resources and kept items produced until a suitable sale time if he missed his original window. The guy is a slightly crazy maths man. on average he was earning closer to 600-800m a day depending on item. and that vastly reduced his workload and made it almost afk until item production change day. He eventually gave up because he flies solo frigates and you don't need more than a titans isk to do that lol.

    • @SynrsCreed
      @SynrsCreed 8 лет назад

      +Jack Powell I even doubt 600m a day with 3 accounts. Ship invention chances on the large hulls are so low that you would need impossible results, and not to mention the invention times are so long that I cannot see this as a possibility. Sounds like your friend was telling a big fish story :)

    @VultureXV 8 лет назад

    IMO small-time production is a very difficult role to play.
    The game is just 100% designed for big-time corps with no consideration of the little guy.
    Basically to do anything you're still going to need a moon mining POS setup. If you are lucky to find quiet space (and don't have a rare moon) you will probably be able to make it out with your materials (granted folk don't siphon you to death) with relatively low hassle.
    IMO the biggest killer right now is fuel as, currently, to run a SMALL POS it's 36mil a week. There's ways you can offset this with PI if you're in a good section of space and have found good planets with low tax. Other than that you have to create enough product to offset the fuel costs at least.
    And what a ton of other people stated, missioning/ratting/exploring will still probably net you more money if you're new. Once you get all the good skills though, you can do whatever.

    • @pixelsafoison
      @pixelsafoison 8 лет назад

      This is an old post so you probably know better now, but still:
      People have a lot of misconceptions concerning industry, they think that if they do it by themselves then it's free - but if you want to cut EVERY SINGLE middle man you're going to need both a lot of influence and a hell of a lot of alts, and in the end it won't even be worth the hassle.
      You're better off playing along, placing buy orders for your stuff and turning a few hundred mils of profit a day easy peasy than trying to conquer the map as if moons were pokemons and run into a LOT of trouble because others will ALSO want your moons... Also, most of them turn a very low monthly profit, like 1b... and the ones you find in lowsec are mostly to be mined at a loss of several hundred mils.

  • @PhunkyMunky10
    @PhunkyMunky10 8 лет назад

    The problem with doing industry is I like PvP. But I've got to make Isk somehow and creating an Alt to do that might be useful. I thought I might get both in W-Space but at this time it seems daunting and I'm unsure I want to spend that much of Real Life worried someone's going to rick roll my POS while I'm sleeping LOL. At least in an NPC station I know my stuff is safe. I may find myself unable to undock (safely) but at least I won't lose all my crap. Can't do that with a POS.

    • @chrisr3120
      @chrisr3120 8 лет назад +2

      Your POS can't be destroyed in a single night if you have strontium in it. It will go into reinforcement and become invulnerable for a period of time.
      Also you don't have to live in a WH to operate in WH space. there is no shortage of wormholes in space. I live in lowsec and visit wormholes regularly.
      One really easy thing to do is gas harvesting. Most of the gas and ore sites in wormholes are completely undefended by sleepers for the first 15 minutes after you warp in so you can jump around from site to site harvesting gas and just bailing on the site when the sleepers spawn in.
      Then you can have a lowsec POS or even a highsec one to use for processing the gas into usable tech 3 materials.

    • @PhunkyMunky10
      @PhunkyMunky10 8 лет назад

      Oh yeah, I forgot about that... Thanks for the reminder. a HS POS isn't a bad way to go. Last time I played Eve I had one, although I didn't use it for much. Mostly just a place holder, I was too busy screwing off in Low Sec. That's what I get for being "Isolationist" though and not flying with anyone. In short, that's boring LOL.
      I was talking about LIVING in the WH. But ninja mining resources is a good way to go, especially for a small corp. Or Ninja ratting/salvaging... Whichever floats your boat.
      I have been singing praises about Eve to a few friends who don't play eve, so maybe by the time I get my new computer I will have a group of guys to fly with already. I think what I will do is create a corp of us and not let anyone else in until we've developed a bit (corp and characters). I intend to build a whole new character, rather than just get in with my old one. A clean slate, if you will. I would like to get to where we live in W-Space but that may change.

    • @chrisr3120
      @chrisr3120 8 лет назад +3

      StonedPatriot The only real problem of using a highsec POS is that it rather negates a lot of the usefulness of having a POS to process the gases. That being the fact that polymers are much smaller and easier to transport than the gas they are made from. If your POS is in highsec then that means you are either entering wormhole space from highsec, which is the most dangerous entry point as highsec is highly populated, or you are having to haul the gas to your POS. Of course a lowsec POS is going to be vulnerable to attack from capitals and such at any time.
      However, there is something else to consider. If you do set up your POS in a low class wormhole there are some safty advantages to it. Class 1 worm holes if I recall correctly cannot be entered by anything bigger than a battlecruiser. So staging out of one of those is going to shelter your POS from being seiged by capitals. Even a wardec in highsec will at least let the enemy bring battleships. Also there is the fact that it the wormhole they are attacking through collapsed they wouldn't be able to launch a follow up attack.
      You can negate a lot of a battlecruiser's firepower simply by going with a large tower and forcing them to use longer range attacks.
      Some neuts will really make it hard for them to tank as well as make it harder to use some of their best long range weapons like lasers.
      Some warp disruption batteries will ensure that they know a failed attack will result in losses.
      As long as you set up decent defenses on it someone should have a hard time taking it down.
      Though living in WH space is not a one man job.

      Chris R Right, and then unoccupied WH's that open up can also be exploited from there. That Class 1 will eventually run dry.
      I'm guessing a few weeks at most, at a time, would be what you spend in WH Space. After all, you need ammunition and other items, if it can't be manufactured right there in the WH. I think this is the same as working in Null where the nearest station is quite a ways away and making your own would save you money anyhow because prices in Null are... Usually ridiculous.
      Maybe the best way to go about it is to get in with a WH corp/alliance and go that route. You have more support and can learn from others that have done that sort of thing for a while. Plus, more people online 24/7 so there are more eyes out for nefarious people. Even if I made my own corp, making friends with another Corp and going in with them would suffice... As long as we all remained on friendly terms.
      I did some WH dabbling when I played before, but never with much success. We tried living in one for a while and it was one of the most stressful things I ever tried in Eve. LOL Maybe six weeks and we came out not much better off than going in. Luckily, we weren't attacked too much if I remember right. It was boring and the corp small, so I found myself on alone quite often. What I should have done was go in with someone else in a sort of joint venture. We didn't get much out of that WH and my corp members dropped off soon after. Then my computer crashed and RL took me out of the game.
      I should have learned more about them while we were doing that. As it was we scanned things down daily, never collapsed holes, and a few times ran out of Stront and had to deal with that. We really made it hard for ourselves I think. There is so much more to consider than just scanning it down, pushing a POS in, and setting up. I believe next time I will take my time a bit more.

      StonedPatriot As often as you will be finding worm holes that connect to highsec I would imagine you could easily make supply runs in a cloaked transport ship.
      Also you may want to postpone your plans for a bit. With the citadel release coming soon and POSs being replaced by new structures it might be wise to see how that changes things.
      Don't get discouraged though. The big citadels aren't the only structures that are coming to the game. There will be smaller structures too and I think the drilling platform should suit a lot of your needs. It can run reactions.
      The new structures are also apparently only vulnerable to attack once a week.

    I started EVE as a industry guy but to be honest after spending what 4 years in EVE i wouldnt recommend it. The mining aspect of EVE should be done for seasoned players.
    If i would suggest a easy sustainable income for new players train PI on the three different character slots each account have and do PI in provi which allow neutrals.
    It takes about three weeks for three characters but its well worth it. And you can train one character, let it sustain your skills, PVP w/e and than build on it.

    You triggered me with in 3 minutes. do not refine or produce unless you have mad skills in this. its more profitable just to sell your stuff then it is to refine, and its more profiteble to sell the refined ore then building stuff unless you have the skills and even blueprints that are researched(you can get copies of these on the market(better efficenty rates making it actually profitable considering your time that you put in. .
    you will lose out on money if you still do this, altho it is always nice to make your own ammo.

    Thanks for the content. You start the vid with "for new players" then continue explaining everything while having an own pos at your disposal. Kinda odd. As a new industry dude i didnt find this vid verry usefull as you talk about jobs and arrays and everything like your viewer should know these things.

      +Methios War I do assume that the viewers will have done the industrial tutorials but a pos is not that hard to get now that you don't have to grind the rep anymore. It was our first goal when we started playing eve.
