The secret of the Red Baron was simple, avoid fights if don't have the advantage. I was a logistic pilot for most of my PvP career , no kill mail, ever. Until I applied what you taught, using cheap frigates. I've got kill mails now. I use every unfair advantage I can get my hands on, including NOSing NPCs while draining their cap with a Neut. I ended up leaving eve again. Never found a Corp and the players didn't seem to want to fleet up. I did however get tons of skills to specialize as an abaddon pilot
Reporting players for comments like that is not petty at all. It's 100% the right thing to do. EDIT: You probably know this but you can shift-left click the modules to overheat them. You don't need to click that little thingy on top of the modules. Shift-click is much quicker.

I was literally watching, imagining getting blown up by Monika Townsendt and not only completely okay with that, but even feeling honoured x) I've been blown up only a couple times, but I have such good memories from most of them because I had a really chill chat with my ambushers afterwards, even flew duos with one a little bit afterwards.

iirc, the 4x master-at-arms cerebral accelerators (and high tier rewards) don't get sent until the person who uses the code spends real money. I don't know how it works if they are already omega from buying a subscription, or if it only counts new transactions.

I have alts that i've used my own ref code on and got the accelerators when I bought weekend omega packs on the alts. I don't have any alts with paid subs to test if an existing sub will trigger the referral reward for person who gave the code.
love this video, but could you also someday maybe make a video about the strategies/movement involved in PvP? what I mean is fighting isn't just picking a good fit, it's also finding targets, moving into the system soo you don't get gatecamped, finding the target in the system and then most importantly running away when there are people chasing you down. it'd be nice if you made a video showcasing all of that, how to place safespots, how to scan safely, how and when to filament out etc etc, that would realllyyy help out a lot :)

hi there... It is no cap stable to me on pyfa, when smartbomb deactivated... its says it depletes in 5 mins... In game fitting window it says "depletes in 4:50"mins.... I find it strange since I thought I wasn't missing any relevant capacitor skills, so i went on pyfa and set skills to "all 5"... and still it says capacitor lasts 5:50mins. Has something change in EvE for the last 4 months, regarding this issue? or is there some minor implant you are using for the fit?... Tnx in advance, and keep up with those nice videos please... o/

Nice video. It is cool to see all the variety and depth there is to small scale combat explained this well. It would still be quite interesting to see your preliminary investigation on renting. Even if it is incomplete and no longer accurate post expansion. Renting has existed in some form since the beginning of the game so I am doubtful Equinox will meaningfully hurt it. Nevertheless, your opinion on its scale and how it has impacted the game and people who engage with it would be super interesting. Of all the social structures that have been tried in Eve only an imperial administration with large welfare programs and a hierarchical landlord-serf structure have endured in the competition for sovereignty through time. Why is that? What does Equinox do to disrupt it?
The renting research takes a lot of time...you know...I asked a lot of people in Horde, including the responsible director, but of course, I didn't get any numbers. Then I talked to the renters and did the math, and it adds up to several trillion ISK per year. It's really complex, especially when you can barely get any figures. There are already a lot of systems being rented out, and that's a good and hiuuuge income. Goons don't do that, and I think that's why Horde has much more ISK... same with FRAT. The rental system definitely has advantages for the renters. You fly into null-sec and you will have the protection of the big alliance, and you pay an average of 4 billion ISK to the alliance as rent, plus additional ISK for ansiblex, moons, and so on. It's just too complex for a video. You can be sure that you won't make friends in a big alliance if you ask questions that hit the core of ISK making. Of course, the video would have been a "must see video"... If Horde had cooperated and provided transparent numbers, it could have been something good. Instead, the figures I got from many conversations with various renters were numbers that no one in Horde wanted to confirm. Then CCP made changes, and I decided to drop the idea.... (for now) 🙂

if i understand that right: Now, the new system is based on the power level, which depends on the sun type and the planets you have. So, in a low-power system, you can only have one of the following: no super building, no jammer because there's not enough power, just a cyno beacon with no other boosts, a level 2 ratting boost instead of a level 3, or a mining boost for just one mineral.
I lowered the DPS a little bit and made it cap stable by removing 1 ballistic control and adding another capacitor power relay. Even with my bad skills!
@@bugm9115 pyfa, from some of the mentions I have read, is not 100% perfect with it's math. My guess is that they have to use their own formulas and CCP doesn't give them all away. I am a newbie, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I’m not nearly as experienced or skillful as you but here’s a tip, if you hold shift and click on your modules, it toggles heat. Clicking those little green lines is pretty hard and takes some time. Or if you like clicking those green lines then that’s your preference 🙂
That would be nice, but no, it's not that much. There were 1,500 PLEX included that I sold (the ones CCP gives to partners). However, I make around 5 billion ISK just from the bonus of 1 million skill points that come through the videos.
All skills at 5 I'm only seeing 452 dps hot on this ship, and you're close to 660? I don't understand what could possibly make up that difference to get there... no combination of drugs or implants gets me close. Can you please explain 🤣
What's the best way/ship to start to learn Eve PVP? I'm mostly a hauler in game having done that most of my life (retired due to back issues) it just feels right, and I enjoy (most of the time). I'm an old gruff bastard so I tend to curse a lot, and really don't have much of a filter at times so that message made me laugh. As a rule I don't respond/shit talk in game since it's usually want they want from you. lol
Start out in frigates. T1 combat frigates, or if you are fine with spending a bit more, Navy Issue frigates. Find like 3 fits you think you might like, buy 5 of each and throw them into Faction Warfare Low Sec, fighting anything of the same hull size you can. Suitonia's Old videos on the eveiseasy channel from before he worked at CCP is a gold mine for this. He has videos of him killing T3 Destroyers and cruisers in T1 fit Frigates on a 3 week old Alpha clone.
There was a really interesting video Thor from PirateSoftware made about player toxicity. The ONLY time a game has not given rise to some form of toxicity in its community was when the game actively rewarded good behaviour through XP. If you were an asshat, people wouldn't thumbs-up you. The more thumbs-ups you get, the more XP you collected, at an exponential rate. The result? A nice community because being nice WAS the filter to high levels. Goated devs

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb I know, it's the worst UI element in game. There is also a thin dead zone below it, so sometimes it doesn't register. Frustrating. I'd recommend to use keyboard shortcuts for overheat. My modules are on 1-9 and overheat toggle is ctrl/1-9. Fast and easy

3:54 ??? You can activate your modules at the start, and once the target is locked, they will automatically engage the target.

Something I always hear about renting is that some of it is done by alts of people in the main organization. What do you think is the split between insiders vs outsiders when it comes to renting?
Also, one can imagine that the pressure to make rent every month might lead to more burnout among renters than regular players. Is that the case?
If it is so much money, where does it go? Goons show regular pve is enough to cover and even double SRP so where does the renting income go? specially for an org like NC. with so much less overhead than Horde.
Finally, as a small scale pirate, what are some good ways to interfere with those activities? Cloaky camping? Ganking their logistics in low-high?

yes thats a problem. i use the heron for combat scanning and then i need to switch ships...

if i understand that right: Now, the new system is based on the power level, which depends on the sun type and the planets you have. So, in a low-power system, you can only have one of the following: no super building, no jammer because there's not enough power, just a cyno beacon with no other boosts, a level 2 ratting boost instead of a level 3, or a mining boost for just one mineral.

Huh. Weird. My total cap is 1801, again with all Level 5, and yours is 1890.
I lowered the DPS a little bit and made it cap stable by removing 1 ballistic control and adding another capacitor power relay. Even with my bad skills!

@@bugm9115 pyfa, from some of the mentions I have read, is not 100% perfect with it's math. My guess is that they have to use their own formulas and CCP doesn't give them all away. I am a newbie, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I’m not nearly as experienced or skillful as you but here’s a tip, if you hold shift and click on your modules, it toggles heat. Clicking those little green lines is pretty hard and takes some time. Or if you like clicking those green lines then that’s your preference 🙂

That would be nice, but no, it's not that much. There were 1,500 PLEX included that I sold (the ones CCP gives to partners). However, I make around 5 billion ISK just from the bonus of 1 million skill points that come through the videos.

All skills at 5 I'm only seeing 452 dps hot on this ship, and you're close to 660? I don't understand what could possibly make up that difference to get there... no combination of drugs or implants gets me close. Can you please explain 🤣

What's the best way/ship to start to learn Eve PVP? I'm mostly a hauler in game having done that most of my life (retired due to back issues) it just feels right, and I enjoy (most of the time). I'm an old gruff bastard so I tend to curse a lot, and really don't have much of a filter at times so that message made me laugh. As a rule I don't respond/shit talk in game since it's usually want they want from you. lol
well, well. i started with a slasher...in times of RvB (red vs blue). That helped a lot.
Start out in frigates.
T1 combat frigates, or if you are fine with spending a bit more, Navy Issue frigates.
Find like 3 fits you think you might like, buy 5 of each and throw them into Faction Warfare Low Sec, fighting anything of the same hull size you can.
Suitonia's Old videos on the eveiseasy channel from before he worked at CCP is a gold mine for this.
He has videos of him killing T3 Destroyers and cruisers in T1 fit Frigates on a 3 week old Alpha clone.
How many outfits does your character have? Or are you photoshopping the outfit?

There was a really interesting video Thor from PirateSoftware made about player toxicity. The ONLY time a game has not given rise to some form of toxicity in its community was when the game actively rewarded good behaviour through XP. If you were an asshat, people wouldn't thumbs-up you. The more thumbs-ups you get, the more XP you collected, at an exponential rate. The result? A nice community because being nice WAS the filter to high levels. Goated devs

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb I know, it's the worst UI element in game. There is also a thin dead zone below it, so sometimes it doesn't register. Frustrating. I'd recommend to use keyboard shortcuts for overheat. My modules are on 1-9 and overheat toggle is ctrl/1-9. Fast and easy
