Actually, I know it can do some heavy duty welding. But for the average person buying one, who has a hard time putting things together with Crazy Glue or Duct Tape, welding is a bit more complex. I didn't want to confuse them. As I mentioned, I have welded 1/2" together even though the specs say 1/4" is maxing it out. Just have to know how to weld.
@@DIY_Mike-rm5we I do 1/2 inch and 3/8 all the time, just grind it out at 45 degrees and lay multiple beads. You only have to get could penetration on each layer - not doing anything but blacksmith / blade-smith tool making.
