i found with this machine if you pull your bead and push back in a bit, ( not a crescent ) you leave less flux in the path and a cleaner bead. these do tend to do better with a bit more heat and it keeps the machine running smooth. too little heat and it tends to splatter a lot more... they also like really clean surfaces... like stupid clean works really good... keep it up. youre helping a lot of the new guys learn fast !

On thin material, lay down a series of "C"'s - build your bead out of dozens of tiny C welds - it's much the same as laying one spot onto the last spot, except you're laying down C shaped spots - each capital C lays down onto the last - your heat is mostly going into the last C & not the base metal, so you won't blow holes, but it gives a silly strong weld on even the thinnest metal. Plus it looks like you ran a continuous bead where nobody could possibly run a continuous bead because the base metal was so thin. :-)

It's apparent you get good penetration on your welds. I have watched a number of MIG welding videos that give me the opposite opinion (I know you are using flux core); it seems that some of those welds are mostly surface welds. I haven't asked the weldors, but I'm curious. Have you seen that happen, & which process does it the most? How prevent it?
I remember back in the late 90's when I was just starting out we had a guy that did something really similar and I began practicing to be able to have the same look. I have this welder- great little machine. I prefer the drag a line, then circle, drag a line, then circle, etc. that way, you're getting good root penetration AND adjacent penetration when you make that circle, assuming you do it slow enough. The other method (modified stitch, I guess), is just stacking a weld on top of the joint. Looks great, but penetration is suspect.
Worked for several companies here in Phoenix, Echols is where almost everyone goes for blades. Those less inclined to persevere would get theirs at harbor freight.

I think you should be totally fine. I don't know if there is an Ace Hardware by you. But they carry a product from KT industries. It is point 030 wire. I have had very good luck with it. I have not had a chance to do a review with it yet.
On the third method "stacking dimes". Do you just hold steady, or do you make any circular motion as the welds forming before you release and move on? Thank you. Great Chanel !
Hey, thanks for the comment and the view in most cases when I use this. Technique for welding. I use it in low to medium pressure applications and a lot of times I wind up grinding it off. Sounds great if it continues to be difficult I would go ahead and take it back and go a different way away just keep your material clean go clean check your settings and watch your stick out on your wire probably probably 3 eights of an inch to half an inch Max

As someone who does it almost everyday at work and has used the 125 to do it yes you can. Did it take 2-3 hours of messing around one day to find the right settings? Yes it did. If your going good clean metal to good clean metal it's not a big issue once u find settings that work. If your going good clean metal to something that's a little less then ideal youll still have some issues but tbh you'd have those issues with a mig set up too, been there done that. Would u be better off with a welder that gives you more control over your power settings then the 125 has? Yes you would be. I was looking at the 125 and after a former coworker got one and I had a chance to use it for a couple months I realized I wanted more control and more options like the option to use gas if I wanted. Got a hynade 175sg gave me more control over power settings and the option to use gas as well as do stick/tig and use a spool gun. The base welder comes with the mig/flux torch and the stick torch and is $70 more then the 125 is. Add a gas regulator and tig torch and its $140 more then the 125 is and well worth it imo. All that said your still better off using mig for body/patch panels. Personally after buying a tank and gas so I could do aluminum I'm just to cheap to buy a second tank and gas to run mig when using flux core has been working just fine for me.
Nothing against what you are doing. It's always good to share knowledge but I think fluxcore looks better with straight beads, or continuous loops. I don't think the stacked dimes look with fluxcore looks better. Stacked dimes needs to be shiny or have a consistent color to look nice imo. Plus those aren't dimes anymore they are stacked nickels or quarters. Anyway thanks for sharing I'm sure some people want to do this take care.

My motto is "The day I stop learning is the day I start dying".
Isn't that first method called weaving?
I never Really thought of it in that aspect but I guess you could classify it in that way if you wanted to thanks for your input
What wire size was that?
Lincoln NR211.030
@@26feironworks79 thank you, loved the video!!
Nice video! I can pass xray all day but can't stack dimes for shit. Stick or mig
I totally get it just mess around with watching the outside edges of your puddle and the back edge of your puddle and don't be afraid to mess with your heat settings thanks again for the feedback and the view
You need to just run a stringer or use a weaving pattering. Holding at one spot to build the pool up then moving drastically it just going to cause cold lapping.
Is not it.

Are you making reference to my lovely camera work lol
For those of us who just want to get down to business. Thanks for the tips these techniques work great. Used it to do my thumb for my mini excavator.
@@KINGSTONSPRIDE Hey thanks for the feedback much appreciated I'll try to get more stuff out as soon as possible thank you again
You have to watch the filmed video yourself, so as not to embarrass yourself, you draw with a felt-tip pen behind the scenes, you can’t see ything, you can’t see movements when welding either 👎😖
Thanks for the feedback I'll try to be more aware of that next time
STACK THOSE DIME'S 👌
THIRD METHOD IS GREAT FOR *((THIN))* METAL LIKE EXHAUST PIPES,and TUBING
