    Other options for removing smells from vintage clothing: Sunlight. Not just outdoor air but hang directly in the sun for a few hours or Freeze for 24 hours. Often the smell is from bacteria and freezing kills bacteria( or any thing else that might be hiding). or lastly, seal in a closed container with an open container of baking soda. Be careful not to spill. Baking soda is an odor absorber. I collect vintage and these have worked wonders for me.

      Super! I’ll try freezing it next time! Thanks for sharing!

      Sunlight is wonderful but will bleach, be careful. And I am sorry, but bacteria will be just fine in the freezer, in fact this is how we keep them viable in the lab. They will not reproduce in the freezer but once they are out and conditions are good they will grow again.

    The vodka trick is great for especially delicate items that can't be machine washed at all! I learned that from a wardrobe person from my old work who used to spray costumes with it. But if the item can be machine washed, I use white vinegar first and saturate the item before washing. Omg, your brown trousers are incredible! You look so good in that style trouser and I adore vintage clothing. Been collecting pieces for a while now and think they are timeless and made so well. I can't believe 90's is vintage, but so is early 2000's now too!

    I have many vintage garments in good condition-- bought them new at the time at warehouse sales. Now I look for items to update those pieces & add more visual interest. Thanks Daria for this review/ tutorial!

    I’ve tried two of the vintage shops you link on your website and have been very happy with the items and communication. Small curated shops do the quality control for you if you don’t have time to pick through garments at multiple larger shops, although you do pay a higher price for that service.

    Vintage clothes are so unique! I always try to find gems in vintage shops that I know I can wear until the size can be the same (😅). The uniqueness of vintage clothes make them timeless. I also like to shop vintage when I am traveling. That special garment is not only vintage but it's also special because tied to the place I visited. "I bought it for a very cheap price in a vintage shop in Paris"...hey! Doesn't it sound cool? 🥰

    Nic video about vintage. I have a question: What is a difference between smart casual and french chic? Could you create video about french chic?

    • @wonderwardrobe
      @wonderwardrobe  3 года назад +2

      For me ‘French chic’ style is just a stereotype created mostly by American cinema. When I visit France I see a lot of well-dressed people but I wouldn’t say their style has a pattern :) A smart casual style is just a cool name for a classic-casual style where you mix some classic or business looking clothes with casual elements like jeans, t-shirts, oversized coats...

    I found vintage clothes are made with better material and better quality. Also the design is more feminine and flattering for female body. The current fashion trends heavily promote masculinity which doesn't suit me as I am petite with delicate frame. I started shopping 2nd hand a few years back, till now, almost 1/3 of my wardrobe are second hand. Some of them are vintage. My clothes are much more interesting these days. I actually look forward to picking out my outfit everyday. I love your videos and your love of color.

    Does this water-vodka spray work ln leather elements?

    • @wonderwardrobe
      @wonderwardrobe  3 года назад +1

      I’ve never tried it on leather but it might work! I’d spray it on the inside lining and then gently wipe it on the outside. But I would not try it on suede, it might leave spots.

    What an informative video! There are many lovely vintage shops on Etsy and Instagram and they all have their own unique style and creative aesthetic. I love it! WinningandLosing on Etsy and Insta has some amazing stuff, though I haven't bought from them yet. I also have a shop on Etsy with some exciting pieces coming out this year. Shop name is SunCloudVintage
