I know! I laugh and cry 😭 EVERY TIME! Lenny was such a sweet guy! I almost wished she said yes! I mean hey, the last name is perfect! "Help there's a hog in my kitchen!" 🐷🤣
Watching this growing up, despite their miserable jobs and rough backgrounds, I envied them. I wanted to grow up and live with my best friend, double date, take vacations together, live our lives together, even as boyfriends/husbands got added in over time. I thought they were very lucky to have each other. That's due to the great job these two did with the comedy, but also the drama. Impressive chemistry and wonderful comedic timing.
I remember watching the fireman episode when I was a teenager. I cried so hard that night. It left enough of a mark on my heart that I never forgot it, even 35 years later.
I just lost my mom at the end of February. During a L&S marathon two days ago "A Visit To The Cemetery" came on. My husband didn't want me to watch it, because he was afraid it would upset me. Of course, it did; at one point I was crying so hard I couldn't even see the TV. Sure enough, by the end of the episode, my tears had dried, and I was able to smile again. I was very little when the show was first on, but my mom used to let me stay up to watch "Happy Days" and L&S, since they were on back to back. She'd watch with me, and it was always fun, just something for us girls to enjoy together. This show will always be linked to my childhood, and my memories of my mom. Fortunately, the laughs it still provides keep the tears at bay, xoxo.
That is so BEAUTIFUL ❤😢 I’m so sorry she’s not here on the earth but she’s somewhere better and watching over her beautiful daughter and maybe chuckling as she sees you laughing with Laverne and Shirley ❤ ps my twin and I were probably your age when we started watching it as well! I remember happy days too back to back and felt so lucky I could stay up till 830 I believe LOL ❤
She has said that she didn't think she was that good of an actress, and that she wasn't pretty so she compensated by making people laugh. She would never be Elizabeth Taylor or Sally Field but she could make people laugh and that's what made her famous not her acting. But we know by watching that episode, it's just not true.
The boys' entrance in "Why did the fireman". So damn sad. Even the audience was quiet. When Laverne joked about Squiggy's lack of the usual "Hello" the audience was silent. Probably one of the most dramatic scenes in sitcom history. 😭
I know, that was the only time Lenny & Squiggy didn't say "Hello" when they entered. You knew it was tragic then, and the impact of that is like a kick in the guts.
You can’t hate your mom because she’s always going to be your mom and no matter what happens your mom is always going to be your mom R I P Penny Marshall loving you forever
I watched these when I was a little girl. Been a long time ago now. it's funny how different things can look when you get older. I always thought that Laverne was rather homely, but she was actually quite pretty. Wonder why they always made her out to be unattractive when she was so pretty. Guess just for comedy. RIP Penny Marshal. Thanks for the laughs!
There character's taught you to care about those you loved and too do the right thing even if it was hard there still needs to be shows like this. And what a shame there isn't.
found it interesting that several shows made mention of Shirley's mother living in California. yet when they moved to California Shirley never saw her.
@@kiaguy47 I always believed that it was because Shirley’s mom was a really self centered person who didn’t want to be a mom anymore once her kids weren’t little anymore.
These were all good. For some reason, I missed that fireman episode (which I think the fireman was Ted Danson). Didn't care much for the alcoholic brother episode. Oddly enough, I was thinking of that modeling episode with her passing.
That scene in Squiggy in Love gets me all the time. Shows just how vulnerable he was. That whole episode was WOW. I wasn't a fan of the Carmine/Shirley story tho.
Toughest episode to watch was Laverne's fireman boyfriend . My other fav heart wrenching episode was Laverne having a hard time reconciling her mother's death
No matter how much I watch of this show, the proposal will always be my favorite scene. Poor Lenny's clearly scared, but pushing all of that aside and happily offering to take responsibility for a baby that isn't even his. It almost makes me wish his crush on Laverne wasn't unrequited.
At least there was a happy ending in the debutante ball, when she was chosen by the Duke for the Duke's dance because of she was "a woman of class" to come back out again after her embarrassing incident. At least there was a cute moment of comic relief when Squiggy says, "She took Lenny?" The one with Randy the fireman is still one of the saddest moments in sitcom history.
"No, I won" gets me every time
That part is so sweet
I'm not crying YOU are crying
The most romantic moment in TV history, in my opinion
I know! I laugh and cry 😭 EVERY TIME! Lenny was such a sweet guy! I almost wished she said yes! I mean hey, the last name is perfect! "Help there's a hog in my kitchen!" 🐷🤣
@@robynsegg Both guys actually. Remember Squiggy was part of the coin flip too.

Sometimes one good friend is all you need in the world.
"Help theres a hog in my kitchen" Loved Lenny

Yeah, that's a tough episode to watch. Thanks for sharing that.
So sad. Laverne finally had a great guy.

Thank you for sharing that. L&S was truly a beloved show by so many. It's amazing how a comedy show had so much heart felt moments

Watching these old clips I just realized how much I loved L & S.Rest in Peace P.M. u we're a great actress,and a great director.
I remembered the episode with her alcoholic brother a few years later when I got needed help. I am am still grateful after 41 years of sobriety.
Wow that’s amazing! You must be strong
In the fireman episode, Penny showed us what a good actress she really was.

@@kiaguy47 Exactly, it's so so sad
It was ROUGH as Hell! Ugh!

Yea. Usually the boys entered with dramatics. That time neither were dramatic. So emotional and serious.
Penny was a very good comic.
Debutante Ball was a masterpiece.
This was a great compilation of touching moments. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.

Damn, she hit Lenny hard. At least she apologized and gave him a kiss for trying to help her.
That fireman episode is so hard to watch, it's so sad.. just with that small clip I was about yo cry😢

Yeah, my sister and I always thought she was pretty, too.
I thought she was pretty too. I also think Penny was pretty in the Odd Couple
Same here. Rest easy, love. ♥
"Why Did the Fireman" was such a sad episode.
I can't watch it without crying. When I watch it I'm sad for the rest of the day 🙁
Squiggy In Love hits a little too close to home. I was in a relationship with someone who didn't treat me like I should be treated
There character's taught you to care about those you loved and too do the right thing even if it was hard there still needs to be shows like this. And what a shame there isn't.
Didn't remember what a great actress Penny Marshall really was, until I saw the scene between she and Michael McKean.. very very good!
Thank you for the video. It was great but it would have been nice to see these clips to the end.
found it interesting that several shows made mention of Shirley's mother living in California. yet when they moved to California Shirley never saw her.
Yeah, I noticed that too. And she didn't come to Shirley's wedding when she married Walter Meeney.
I hate when writers don't pay attention to detail.
@@kiaguy47 I always believed that it was because Shirley’s mom was a really self centered person who didn’t want to be a mom anymore once her kids weren’t little anymore.
Ha ha when she says shes been breakin her fanny I'm british 🤣🤣🤣

😨😢💔 When she hit Lenny and he said, "Maybe you hate *me,"* I almost cried for him. What's the episode?
"A Visit To The Cemetary" (Season 4 Episode 9)

This is a repost, the previous version had some audio issues. It's been corrected now.
They were the Original
2 Broke Girls.
RIP Penny Marshall.
The guy is Ed Begley.
Ed Begley, Junior to be precise.
Reminds me of my bff
Ah, "the feels." That's what you have before you become an adult and have emotions.
WOW.....Cindy Williams is so pretty.....John From North Carolina....
She wasn't called Angel Face for nothing 😃
👏🏼💜💜💜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The "feels?" That's stupid
Well these episodes really get ya
Underneath the ribald laughs and the rambunctiousness were hearts of gold. Loved L&S
