Hi Chris. Good video idea. Just a bit of info that I remember: Quite a bit of Dunhill's collection of pipes, and antiquities from around the world were auctioned off into many private hands, sadly. The Amsterdam Pipe museum was still going last time I was there. I think it was on Prinsengracht right in the centre by the canals. I as yet have not gotten to go in, because my friends didn't want to! I hope to get there next time. Hope you had a lovely time in Poland.

Great information! Pinned! Sad to hear about the Dunhill collection! Especially since I know Mr.Dunhills book...there is a massive amount of history connected to the pipes...

@@BrutalEnough I agree. It is history from the world over, and very much what Britain did, and I don't just mean stealing things from other countries or actual other countries!! It would be wonderful to have a Dunhill museum here. If I was a multimillionaire, I would try and buy them all back and open a centre for people to visit, but alas I am not! Any million or billionaires reading this?

@@gibbsnathaniel6134I am afraid the actial billionaires are enjoying their own private collections without the annoying public... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great topic Chris. The world would be a better place if there was enough demand to have pipe museums across the world.

Yes, it was great! Soon the city of Przemysl is doing it's yearly pipe day; this year Chacom is the special guest...I can highly recomend attend that event!

It sounds like European pipe museums are struggling as much as USA museums. It's very sad to see this happen. Museums are a big part of maintaining and conserving culture and art and the world is worse off without them. Beautiful pipe you have there. Cheers, Andy.

It depends on what kind of museum...and tobacco and smokers are the most evil thing in the universe! (Next to some other things nowadays...)

We get the odd clay pipe in an exhibition i think I've remembered seeing but no museum purely dedicated to our small corner of tobacciana... i think I've read online about drawers of clays stored by some institutions in England. Maybe we all must contact our local storage facilities to ask before the mainstream consensus is followed and they get dumped?!
