    Switching from 75mm to NTN is no big deal if you only have one pair of skis/bindings/boots…BUT (like a lot of us)…I have collected WAY too many skis/bindings over the years to make the switch to NTN (or tech)without spending a ridiculous amount of money. And frankly, I don’t see how the switch would improve my skiing anyway! (I don’t think at the end of every ski day, “If only my boots were stiffer, or my bindings lighter/easier to get into/more powerful”). I ski hard with what I’ve got…telemark has always been about trying to do a little more with a little less!

      If any of your skis are mounted with 22designs bindings, I've had good luck reusing the same screw holes and installing inserts. Then you could buy one pair of NTN bindings/boots and switch them between skis and gradually make the switch as your duck bills wear out.

      @@halwestwood All my skis have Hammerheads, so that sounds like a workable solution…but a cheapskate like me still cringes at the thought of paying for all those inserts!🤑

    This sadness me, I'm a recent transvert from alpine to telemark, however the bellow on my right boot 'older scarpa t1' is cracking and I cannot afford for a full NTN transition this season. I'm 28.5 mondo, I've tried local ski swaps but the older teleheads like to hold onto their shit, I get it. LOVE the videos and keeping the telemark stoke alive!

    Sad news indeed. I will never understand manufacturers. Where they may all be making a product that has dropped in demand and they all pull that product out of the market. If one kept at it, their demand would have to increase at least a little. Moulding enough to last a couple of seasons of sales could address the "quantities of scale" issue. No one really cares about new colors or graphics anyway. I know, I know, Tele has never been a huge market and tele skiers are a little slower to replace perfectly good gear they still love...lets hope Voile keeps making 75mm bindings.

    Crossing fingers this means they are getting closer to releasing a broader range of NTN. I like both 75mm and NTN , but honestly NTN does it for me now and no reason to go back

    I love my first generation Garmont Ener G-Fit 26.5 boots with a 106mm last. I have no desire to purchase an NTN set up. It's not a money issue, either! I like my 22 Design Axel bindings, too. Yes, the set up is heavy. With the NTN, I would be saving 200 grams.....not worth it! If anybody out there has a Ener G-fit 26.5 they want to sell, contact me! My bellows have cracks. The closest boot to the Garmont is the SCOTT Synergy with a 103mm last. I foresee having to purchase the Synergy's before there's none available! Oh well, that`s life!

    What do we big guys use? I'm a Monday 31.5 which isn't supported in ntn

    • @johns3106
      @johns3106 2 года назад

      EXACTLY! It’s always been hard to find sz 31 boots in 75mm, and they actually existed! Whether to switch to the new systems is a moot point if boots for us big guys aren’t made!

    Is anyone thinking of making some leather boots for ntn? That would be pretty cool.

    75mm boots are not hard to get. Crispi still makes great 75mm boots. You guys are the only ones pushing the 75mm is dead narrative.

      Cripsi is sold at one dealer in the country. You can probably find 10-15 year old 75mm boots all day, 75mm is on life support market-wise, it's just how it is. FHL wants the sport to strive.

      It's funny that you think we are pushing a 75mm is dead narrative since that's completely opposite of every piece of content that we've ever put out. Haha. If anything we are just reporting that 75mm boots from these manufacturers are no longer made and if you want to get them, you better do it now or there will be plenty of used ones on the market in the future. Thanks for watching. - Madsen

      T2 is still being made and highly unlikely that Telemark will die ever. Thanks for the comment. - Madsen

    75 mm is not going to survive because of the people drive the industry like free heal life only wants to push the new stuff and not even try to keep two systems going. Money talks unfortunately not all of us can spend on ntn I know I can not justify it. And I do buy new gear to add to what I have

    telemark dies, NTN is not telemark

    • @halwestwood

      IMO if you can lift your heel you can tele no matter what boot or binding you use.
