I was on Roadworthy Rescues S1 E7 helping Derek. That was the most fun I ever had doing stuff with cars. And it was all because of Derek. Absolutely amazing, stand-up guy. And he never rests! When we weren't shooting, he was editing his YT videos on his laptop because he didn't want to let anyone down who depend on his YT content. No ego, no attitude. Just nice guy.

Owning my own small business for 50 years and only working within 30 miles of home is a huge job not to mention the actual job
And I’ve always recognized your commitment and sacrifices you and your family makes every week
At 67 I realized there’s never gonna be enough Money or time for everything that comes along so I chose my projects carefully and do what I love
    Great show guys

You two really nailed it when you talked about the rural lifestyle and growing up back in the day. I grew up 2.5hrs straight north of Derek's hometown in Saskatchewan, Canada. This was back in the 70's and 80's. A farming community where 75% of the boys drove those square body trucks (and others). Many of those trucks had a gun rack in the back window with, at minimum, a 22 and a shot gun. And this was at school! Great interview!

I've been watching VGG for over 5 years now and haven't missed one episode! I have to say that feller is the real down to earth American automotive hero breathing life into rusty gold living his best life whilst raising 3 boy's and doing it right. Humble and kind that love's what he's doing. And he did this when the world really needed to see that kind of diversity out of a father figure that iconic Mountain of a Sasquatch doing great things with his family. While encouraging the people to give it a shot fixing and repairing there own projects. I purchased a bucket list vehicle that I wanted back it was my family car growing up and it was my first car that was stolen from the garage I had put it in storage in while I was serving our country overseas as a Marine in the 90s. It was never found and I didn't think I would ever have another one sitting in my garage. then I happened to stumble across a video of VGG and a 66 Chevelle 300 mine was a Malibu but I found one on market place last year and snagged it up along with a new used 454 and a 427 tall block I did the work myself and have been enjoying a car that was left for dead. Great interview with Derek he is such an inspirational person to many of his viewers. Thanks from that kid in all of us from 4 to 104 you bring happiness into our lives and that desire to get out there and get back to those better years of old.

Thanks for getting our Big D in for a heart-to-heart, for me Derek has literally saved my life, tough times for me in New Zealand at 51 years old and 4 kids I love to bits, the raw answer Big D (that's my term of endearment for Derek so not trying to take the piss at all) about when he said I won't miss a football game or a parent teacher interview was just mind-bending stuff, 16 24 hindsight is a clear way forward and the 1980s building a 355 chev'y HZ Holden Ute with my late dad was and still is my fondest memory, next to holding each of my 4 daughters in my arms for the first time, thanks TTM and thanks VGG, salt of the earth I think is an understatement, my universe is in line with how I get through the week waiting to see my internet dad Big D 🤗

I just have to correct 1 thing, I'm 53, and yes it was "Dukes of Hazzard" on Friday night, with the"A Team" thrown in there, but Saturday morning was "Bugs Bunny & Road Runner" for 90 minutes 😂. The Smurfs were left overs during Captain crunch time. Loved this interview, I just liked and subscribed. Ps. I had Heather Thomas pink bikini, and Heather Thomas blue bikini on my bedroom walls. The part of this that hit home the most for me was "the truck no one wanted". I own a single cab short bed Ram in a combo that's rare as hen's teeth. Just a 2016 Tradesman with the HEMI and blue paint. Still love it just like I did in 2018 when I bought it and IT DOES get used as a truck by pulling my bass boat to the lake 75-100 times a year. Newer trucks with 4 doors just don't do it for me. In a time where everyone wants a big cab with a 5' bed behind it to take the kids to ball practice the type of truck that was considered normal is now being completely phased out.

Maybe it's time to 'hire' a video man/person (like Mike Finnigan and Cletus McFarland) to basically follow you around and film you doing STUFF... You can always edit what you want your audience to see.
