In this episode, Derek from Vice Grip Garage has a conversation with Mister Cartoon, Los Angeles-based tattoo, airbrush and graffiti artist. Hear him talk about his favorite vehicle makes and models, growing up around car shows as a kid and how “custom culture” impacted him as an artist. There’s even one vehicle in particular that both Derek and Mr. Cartoon own and love. Bet you can't guess.

Vice Grip Garage has been gracin’ the interwebs since 2019 and has pursuaded countless clunkers to run over years. Maybe only half of ‘em had brakes (and that’s being generous). Derek focuses on budget builds, rescues, and how to's for the common folk. From classic cars to tractors Derek has been there and driven it home 600 miles.

How about Kevin from Junkyard DIgs on RUclips next? We need him on In The Aisles, I feel like this could be awesome!
Interview Dif from “rat rods of Africa”. I understand you can’t go to South Africa, but maybe arranged a FaceTime interview. Watch his channel. You will see how very talented he is.
Another Home Run... I had no idea he was such a down to earth guy!!! Mr. Cartoon is an ICON!!
I really like that you've included not just mechanics. This hobby is so much more than just old junkers

Derek, great episode! O'Reilly's really covers the automotive map! Loved your comment about the universal language of art!
I love the way cars and music bridge culture gaps.
Great episode, probably your best. Great questions - I feel like I met an awesome artist.
What a talented guy!! Great interview.
the fact that cartoon is such a humble guy still is probably why people love him so much......... that and his unmatched talent!
I have so much respect for Derek. He truly is car guys guy!
Great interview!!!
Man this might be my favorite episode because it was unexpected. I grew up as the white kid in a hispanic neighborhood in the 90s, everybody loved each other but my dad was a drag and circle track racer. There were a couple drag racers but a lot of lowrider guys. My first car was an 84 camaro, dad and built it to race. My neighbor had a son with an 87 monte carlo they were making into a lowrider. Our dads were great friends and we traded an engine for the monte for a paint job on my camaro. We went to school after that summer having the two coolest cars. We would sit at lunch and bring our magazines and hed show me mr cartoons work in lowrider magazine back then. I was showing him steve dulcic writing about making 700hp with cylinder heads on a basic 454 chevy. We still drag race each other every weekend on friday nights. I still have my camaro and he still has his monte carlo but were both racing crappy square body pick ups. His looks a lot better ;)
Great interview ! Thank you so much !
This might be the best episode ever just so different yet my people all the same kind of vibe!!
This man has incredible energy. Great interview.
Bro! My favorite artist and my favorite car builder together 🤯
I'll admit it.... I'd never heard of him, but it held my interest all the way through. Good job to both gentlemen.
Mister Cartoon is an auto icon. I love seeing that generation and the current generation of icons mashing up.
¡Órale! Mister Cartoon AND Derek Bieri from VGG. Great content, O'Reilly. Thank you.

Thanks for taking me so far out of people I usually follow and watch. That was really interesting. A lot of great advice and encouragement there on following your dreams and honing crafts.
Gracias Derek for this I'm glad that you support mister cartoon and his movement , you are invited to the carne asada
Derrick is really growing at this interviewing thing
What a great interview!
I’m always so envious of artists I can barely paint a wall in my house
you didn't ask what his favorite aisle. LOL
Great interview.
Been loving the MrCartoonz products.. the whitewall cleaner is top notch
Derek should do one of these interviews with Ike and John from cars and cameras. That would be neat.
Great episode! I actually picked up some of that Mister Cartoon tire shine and I was really impressed. There’s no flingage and it really sticks out. Can’t wait to buy more of those products
What a great interview 👍👍
How does Derek get all of these amazing interviews ? Cheers 🇨🇦
A brave married man admits he used to read Lowrider Mag :) Pleasant interview.
Derk, find yourself a Technics SL 10 or SL 15 liner tracking turntable, and you'll have to make sure you get the right cartridge for them, but you'll find they play very well.
Do a little research on them, and you'll discover something that we enjoyed back in the 80's that you can kick back with a nice set of Klips speakers playing through a nice Marantz tuner and hear things you never heard before.
Just make sure the electronics have been tuned up replacing any components inside that age has caught up with, and you'll be set for many years of listening pleasure
Ian Roussel From Full Custom needs to be on this show!!
Brother is a true ARTIST 🎨 . I've seen his work. Just amazing work. 9 out of 10 . I give him an 11 . Grat man. I do costume audio installation. in cars. Trucks. Boat. Anything. Paint. Automatic. But he's amazing in what he does. That's for sharing. But I can't remember how long ago I met him . But it's been meany years ago. I have a tattoo from his tattoo book . On my arm.
Derek, it would be awesome to see you do a Lowrider you have all kinds of stuff that would make an awesome Lowrider already out there and rusty acres
Mortske Repair please
Removing shop class from schools was the dumbest idea ever. Shop class was the only thing that helped keep me in school. You need to get Mike Rowe on this podcast.
How about Josh Dillon aka Sleeperdude.
Awesome conversation!
If you ever cross paths with @RobbyLayton he would be a great talk
