"The FBI Director is wrong" genuinely gave me fucking chills. It is terrifying how there is a person in power who genuinely thinks he can do what he want without consequences.
But the question was asked if he or someone in relation to Trump would call the authorities if a crime was being committed. Again, a criminal calling the cops to discuss their crimes.
@@Jaebird88 A better analogy is if a guy offers you some drugs and you take them. If you don't call the police, you get in trouble for taking those drugs (if they find out of course). You're only a criminal if you take the drugs, not if someone offers them to you. Trump's crime is not that he was offered information, it was that he didn't contact the FBI saying that he got information from a foreign government. But, yeah, I agree. Expecting a normal person to report their own crimes is dumb, in this instance Trump knew he was committing a crime, that's why he didn't say anything up until now.
Trump's already a crook because look at his entire business history. He's a glorified snake oil salesmen who believes his life is a movie. Which is where he gets most of his "facts".
I appreciate how funny this line is, but it's not about calling the FBI "about their own crimes"... what's being asked for here is calling the FBI about _potential_ crimes, telling them "somebody wants me to commit a crime". @Jin Nin (I once wrote this when there was 'no news' announced on John's Facebookpage. Back then, nobody read it or cared. So here it is again :) ) The story of Emma Jansen. *_Why John Oliver didn’t get accepted to Hogwarts._* It was a cold, winter's evening and while the wind swept through the dark, narrow streets of Hogsmeade, a cloaked figure left footprints on the snow, as he strode along the empty shops. No one knew him here, no one would recognize him here. He was safe. His pace grew quicker with each new gust of wind and it wasn't long before the Hogwarts castle stood in front of him. When he turned to his left, he almost jumped with fright. A figure with a hooked nose and greasy, long hair, stared at him. "Name?", the person asked. "Oliver..", was the answer. "Oliver Twist? Man, you orphans know where to find Hogwarts....listen, you're too old to join, I-" "Jóhn...Oliver...", the stranger explained. “Oh…right you had an appointment with Dumbledore?” Without saying anything, the man with the hooked nose, then opened the gates and the cloaked stranger called John Oliver, stepped forward and shook the snow from his head. He followed the man through a long set of hallways, up a lot of stairs and passing by a lot of confused students. “Is that the new Defense of the Dark Arts teacher?”, a Ravenclaw asked. “He won’t last a day…”, a Hufflepuff muttered. At the end of a long set of stairs, there were two large statues. The man with the large nose knocked on the door and the other man with the large nose, John Oliver, waited a moment and then carefully opened the door. Inside the room, there were lots of shiny items, globes, sets of glowing potions and a large bird with glowing golden feathers. John walked with small steps, as not to knock anything over and sat down in front of the desk. Only then he realised the desk was empty. “H-hello?”, he asked. There was no answer. On the desk lay an arrangement of items, including a diary, a ring, a box of sherbet lemons and a small wristwatch. John leaned forward and noticed the large indicator was pointing at the 10, rather than the 12. It wasn’t time yet. A bit more relaxed, he turned to his left and leaned back a bit, taking a good look at the large, redgolden bird next to the desk. It was very silently sitting there, like it was contemplating the existence of the universe. Or it’s preparing to attack me, John thought. In an attempt to seem friendly and not at all intimidating, John grinned friendly at the bird, waving his hand with a barely raised arm and nodding respectfully. The bird sighed. “Alright, well..sorry for disturbing your thoughts..”, John apologized and nervously shifted back and forth on the seat. The bird was still staring with this weird look on its face, while some feathers fell to the floor and it sighed again. “Do you think he’d mind if I take a sherbet lemon?”, John thought to himself. He grabbed one (or three) and started sucking on them, while a rustling noise in the back of the room caught his attention. Carefully walking through the rubbish and items, John moved to the back and heard the noise again, louder. It came from a window, very high up. If he could júst take another step back, he’d see the source of- “BAM! BOOM! CLANG!” A large metal globe had fallen over and with a eardeafening ringing sound, was now making its way through the crowded room. “AAAAH STOP STOP!!!”, John yelled and ran after it, but as soon as he’d reached the desk, the ball (that seemed to have a mind of his own) had started spinning in circles around it. “Stop! STOP!” John jumped on the chair and wondered where the sudden source of heat was coming from. A short look to his left made clear that the bird had caught fire. “JESUS CHRIST!” He leaped from the chair, but was immediately tackled by the ringing globe and from the floor, witnessed smouldering bits of bird falling down from the stick. John gasped, his legs trembling as he stood up and moved towards the stick a second time. (The story will continue in my next comment)

He is lying because I can tell you that I’m in a industry where this tariff hit us hard. China doesn’t pay a dime more because it doesn’t cost them anymore to make what is already being made. Guess who pays the import tariffs of Donald trump? That’s right! It’s Americans who does. Why? Because the tariff is applied to products coming into the United States and the importers, American companies, are the one that is paying the higher cost. That in turn is passed onto the consumer. No China is not paying any more than necessary. They ma drop prices to get the sale or have sales loss, but they ain’t paying shit for your stupid tariffs.
Not opening an inquiry is more risky than opening one. Oliver is right. Even if trump isn't removed from office, hearings would shed light on the Muller report and force republicans go on record and publicly choose whether or not they will remain loyal to the constitution and the oaths they took before taking office.
They don’t give a crap about the Constitution and whatever they said when they took office. It’s all about staying in power, no matter what. It’s why they became the Party of No when Obama became president. They knew they their own people would see them as sticking to their guns (literally in some cases), while Obama would look bad for not being able to get bipartisan bills. They didn’t care about their constituents or their duty. It was a way to get power, plain and simple. And exposing them as frauds MAY help, but most likely their own people, like that lady, won’t hear of it.

They got me out of office with less than what they have on this asshole!” I can’t imagine what this has done to the property values in that area. Poor Richard Nixon...born too early and served too early. If he was serving today, as president, he could probably straight up murder someone, get caught standing over the corpse with a blood-stained knife, alternate between denying he committed the crime (despite tons of evidence proving otherwise) and bragging about having committed it, and still have everyone hemming and hawing over whether to arrest him. The GOP has basically become a doomsday cult that will defend their guy no matter what he does, but the DNC would be like, “I don’t know if we want to alienate voters by being so stridently anti-murder.” Then again, committing murder would demand more work ethic than Trump is capable of. Nixon would be willing to actually stab someone, but Donald would just stand there holding out a knife and demand that you run into it. Then when you don’t, he’d throw a hissy on Twitter, go, “YOUR NAME too cowardly to run into my knife. Afraid of sharp objects. SAD!” Nixon had some work ethic and competence to go with all the evil; he plotted and schemed, not just kicked and screamed. Donald Trump is a seventy-something Joffrey. That's what all Saint politicians do
I mean, I can't imagine criminals would ever want to call the FBI about their own crimes, which makes sense.
Should use a better analogy. Its more like YOU not calling the cops when you find out someone is going to rob a bank. Still dont think thats wrong?
Trump wouldn't be held accountable for that, nor should he, except if he fails to calls the FBI about it as he has signaled he will.

I am. And I have to say, this is a refreshing contrast to the top comments normally being something along the lines of "the fact that this video is still just as applicable today as it was when it was made shows how little progress has been made on this issue and that bothers me."
I’m watching it as a refresher because all of the things covered in this video have recently been swept under the rug. I needed to remind myself that he has done some pretty bad things on top of all of the things happening now.

FINALLY, SOMEONE SAYS THE TRUTH ABOUT GREASE
K N right? Lol I’ve often said that the holy trinity of rapey musicals is Grease, Dirty Dancing and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
I've never liked Grease. Creeped me out.
@A Non - I think you slept through the plots of the two musicals while humming along with the melodies.
@A Non 1) I ALWAYS disliked how Grease ended with the girl dressing sexy to please the guy, always thought that since watching it for the first time in 2001 or so, that's not a recent opinion of mine at all. 2) Using context to analyze a piece of art should be encouraged, not discouraged. When looking at Shakespeare, of course we appreciate the time it was written in. "Holding Shakespeare to the standards of 2019" is something literally no one is doing here, you're just setting up an extreme example to make your argument look sane in comparison.
@A Non Works of art are subjective. One person can view them as harmless, while another can veiw them as a sign of cultural evil.
Take civil war monuments.

(I once wrote this when there was 'no news' announced on John's Facebookpage. Back then, nobody read it or cared. So here it is again :) )
The story of Emma Jansen. *_Why John Oliver didn’t get accepted to Hogwarts._*
It was a cold, winter's evening and while the wind swept through the dark, narrow streets of Hogsmeade, a cloaked figure left footprints on the snow, as he strode along the empty shops.
Man, you orphans know where to find Hogwarts....listen, you're too old to join, I-"
"Jóhn...Oliver...", the stranger explained.
“Oh…right you had an appointment with Dumbledore?”
Without saying anything, the man with the hooked nose, then opened the gates and the cloaked stranger called John Oliver, stepped forward and shook the snow from his head.
If he could júst take another step back, he’d see the source of-
“BAM!

The failed Brazilian socialists were crooks too, get over it, same thing here with our glorious DNC and GOP. Demotard and Republitard fanboys contribute to the nation's failures with their stupidity and laziness. I am tired to explain.

I sincerely wish the next episode is about what has happened in Hong Kong these days. Like John said, something we do doesn't seem to be working, which doesn't mean it is not worthwhile doing it either.
i am still confuse about that protest, 2 million people or about 1/4 of the nations country protest to kick out their PM or president due to two nations one government even though they have their own GDP. I am sure i can read up on it but there is too much to pack in. I need John to break it down for me.
Desert Guy too hard to clarify it in a few lines. What finally triggered the anger of HK people is the new extradition law, which is a big threat to the so called one country two system and the independence of HK’s judicial system. That’s why people there went out since they’ve driven to the edge of the cliff while there is no return.
Thomas Mullins well...I don’t feel positive in any sense either, however HK is still not China yet, and HKers will never surrender. It is stupid to expect the government to do something good, but hope is always carried by people there.

I laughed until I was almost sick when I watched that interview. How stupid can someone really be to admit that during a televised interview. And this man [ Trump ] actually thinks he's a stable genius. Give me a break.
you "liberals" have lost your minds. your team's elites are blatantly propagandizing the coasts, ignorant young people, and impoverished people who think wealth redistribution rather than a free and regulation free economy will be their path to financial prosperity. and the fake news, oh my lord, it's over the top fake

Watching this again today is a wild fucking ride. Can we get a revisit episode?
I totally expected an appearance from Emilio Estevez because of the name drop.
StasherDragon i was waiting for that too! I’m slightly disappointed 🤣
EMILIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
nope. just sheen estevez.
I’ve just assumed that ever since 2016, Yorba Linda, CA has echoed with the wails of Richard Nixon going, “Oh come on!
The GOP has basically become a doomsday cult that will defend their guy no matter what he does, but the DNC would be like, “I don’t know if we want to alienate voters by being so stridently anti-murder.”
Then again, committing murder would demand more work ethic than Trump is capable of.
Everybody remember: It is ALWAYS about Projection on the Right. Those who are rotten to the core, have no difficulty believing that everyone else is just as horrible as they are.
Very well said!
Beautifully stated! Thank you for saying what really needs to be said over and over and over....
