I know the Fever are on the drive for a chip, and changes have to happen, but it's worth noting that Erica Wheeler was the Leader of the Fever last year. She was CC's biggest cheerleader. She kept everyone in smiles, all the time during a crazy, tumultuous time. And she is a solid, veteran player. I hope she lands in a place where she can continue to thrive, and I wish her the best!
@ANYTHINGISPOSSIBLEBELIEVE You seemed to have missed my sentence: "And she is a solid, veteran player." In 2023 EW scored 394 points for the Fever, 120 RB, 201 assists, and 44 steals. You're welcome to toss your 2023 stats up. : )
Interesting take on player interaction. Unrivaled seems to be refreshing for the players. In watching the games, they are competing but seem to enjoy the game, and each other even though they are from different WNBA teams. Reminds me a bit of the Olympic team vibes.
I hope not. That will mean the Fever have overpaid, around 90K for someone who might end up averaging 5 minutes a night. Thats not a knock on Erica even... anyone playing 5 minutes isnt worth 90K.
They should pay her to play when she can and overall just be a mascot and a cheerleader it makes me incredibly sad that she's gone someone who welcomes cc to the game with open arms I'll never forget that passed she made with that back side eye.. that gave me chills... I know they want to win I want them to win but sometimes they need to do the right thing..❤ Erica Wheeler!!
She can go to a place like Chicago with a chemistry that is in shambles, help everyone get on the right track, give a solid 15 minutes a game a night, for a rebuilding team. Thats worth 80-90K.
Uhhh. No. Chicago is building something right now and Wheeler isn't needed. What she can do is stay where she's at and help Fever struggle to try and get to a championship game 😁
"Unrivaled is not just for vibes" 🤣 I agree with this video 100%. Unrivaled is DEFINITELY impacting free agency, and I think it will CONTINUE to do so going forward. The W is on notice.
Erica is great for the locker room and wasnt terrible as a backup to cc but we dont have much capspace for her. Would really like to see her back at the fever as an assistant coach.
I actually loved Erica's personality. even if she doesn't fit with the team. I support giving her a trainer position. something to keep her there. she was great.
I think they may keep Erica Wheeler mainly because of her team leadership and will get by offering her a relatively low salary. Other teams will probably not be interested in her so the Fever can use the extra money she used to make for potential other deals.
The Fever need a backup guard that plays fast, a great passer, plays great defense and can run a team so that there is no drop off when CC sits...I would draft Raven Johnson. Shewould be cheap to get.
CC back up is only gonna play 5-7 minutes a game…. Berger nor wheeler wants that. They should go elsewhere and pick up a solid PG elsewhere or draft one perhaps like Olson. Vanloo might be willing so maybe they work out a deal with GSV
@ we are talking about someone to play 5-7 minutes a game. She’s been running point for 20 games she can play point guard and if decent guards available at 20 she very well maybe one of the better ones.
Possibly a hot take, but I think Wheeler shouldn't be one of the 144 in the W. She is one of a group of players that are well liked, decent on the court, but not impactful and sort of taking up space physically and monetarily that should go to nurturing the growth of rookies with more potential. The days of mediocre performance yielding a roster spot are soon ending in the W.
LOVE Erica! If I were a millionaire, I'd pay her salary to stay on The Fever! ♥Keep her with the Fever as a staffer if not as a player! Chicago is going to pick her up.
Wheeler was one of the highest paid players in the league last year making about 220 K thanks to Sides and Lin Dunn Indiana has about 70 K in cap space so I doubt EW signs for that
I mean, i guess it feels good that she's of higher consideration than Grace? Thats all the pros i can think about that. Elsewise, it's just not cool of Indiana Fever.
The thing is, after this year everything will dismantle again and they will be back at step one trying to put pieces together all over again. So they are trying to take a shot before they have to restart
The Mercury took Greiner after Greiner's problems in Russia for a year...in jail...so I believe Greiner owes her allegiance to the Mercury. btw, the Fever is getting hot to beat the NY Liberty and be the champions this year...Wallace, while a fan favorite, might be moving on. My thinking is Wallace is perfect for the Golden State Valkries due to her experience.
Caitlyn Clark is an intense player who needs an environment that has a seasoned team player that can break that tension so Caitlyn doesn’t become the Queen of technical fouls in 2025…Erica Wheeler❣️
Yeah, I'm sure sold out games all season really sucks for her .... Most of us newbie Fever fans love E-Dub (look at the posts here if you dont take my word for it) ... But her price point for minutes played dont fit unfortunately.
Yeah, that horrible fan base that not only fills their home arena every night, but many on the road as well. The fan base that is so horrible that Howard and Bonner chose to sign as free agents. And most importantly, that horrible fan base that Mitchell re-signed to play in front of. Is that the fan base you're referring to? LOL.

Eric Wheeler is an incredible person. Eric would be an excellent choice for a rebuild team. Eric can support players on a team like no other vet. I don’t care what team she goes to, I’ll continue to support her on another team. Really great human. I think she could be a good backup for Valkyries, Sky, Mystic. Any rebuild team. 🩷🏀

I think back when she was with the Dream. Unfortunately, she rarely got to play. Wishing her all the best as well.

Erica Wheeler is a great team leader. Unfortunately her on court play did not justify her salary
@@Graybeard_ and if she’s played for 60k instead of 200k being happy with 5-7 minutes of playtime then she’d be resigned by now.

Erica Wheeler should go to a team where they need to build a culture that is needed (i.e. respect, sportsmanship, integrity, etc).

Well as a Valkyries STH, we have a huge amount of salary cap left and still need to fill out a roster 😬

Off Topic, sorry, Quita are you going to be covering AU Pro at all? 5X5 tournament in Nashville.

Erica, is such a beautiful, encouraging, giving, and delightful person. I wish for her a life of Joy and Health, where ever her trails lead her!
It's too bad they can't afford Erica for the direction Fever is going.
