    can you hit record in the actions panel and record all of that and then make yourself an action to apply to anything? And if so, would that “anything” have to be a white vector graphic? and would the document size as well as the DPI of the document have to be identical to what you recorded?

    • @EddieGarrison

    Thank you for this great video 🌸 ...I have a question .. how to apply that on a logo not just a text ❓

    • @EddieGarrison
      @EddieGarrison  3 года назад +1

      This should work, in theory, on a logo. However, I would use a one colour logo for this. It works so well on fonts since they are one colour and not overly complex in design.

    Im working on mine. I can't seem to utilize a different shading angle in "bevel and emboss" and "inner shadow". My version (CS 5.5) automatically adjusts the angle to be the same for both blending options. It makes for a poorer final product, that's for sure. Is there any way to override the automatic adjustment?

    • @EddieGarrison
      @EddieGarrison  10 месяцев назад

      I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t actually know what/how to override that I’m sorry to say.

    When you adjusted the inner shadow settings your font suddenly went from being extruding to engraved/sunken into the background. I have been struggling trying to get my text to do the same to get that engraved look. Any tips of adjustments to focus on to get the text to go from extruding to that sunken look?

    • @EddieGarrison
      @EddieGarrison  3 года назад

      It’s been a while since I did this one, sorry. The best thing is to try different settings until you get the effect you’re looking for. Inner shadowing is a pretty precise setting.

    • @rednroll1
      @rednroll1 3 года назад +1

      @@EddieGarrison Thanks for your response. I played around with different settings for about 4 hours and just couldn't get it to happen. I was trying to create a .PNG button for an audio mixing application phase button which has an Omega shape font on top of the button and was trying to get that Omega font to sink into the background button and just couldn't get it. I'll keep trying but am feeling kind of beat down at this point. Kind of decided I guess I didn't really want a sunken font, but a raised font instead since that was really simple to achieve.

    • @EddieGarrison
      @EddieGarrison  3 года назад

      @@rednroll1 The .png (may) be the issue, not 100% sure though. I never tried to do this effect and save the file as a .png. Hope you get it figured out 👍

    • @rednroll1
      @rednroll1 3 года назад +1

      @@EddieGarrison You may be right. I kept increasing the size and resolution with that in mind. Started at 72dpi and went up 600 dpi, figuring I would just down scale on save to png. Also was thinking background may be another reason. It was just a solid grey background. Just couldn't seem to get the shadows right for the sunken in look. It ended up being just too much effort for a final image that was only going to be 45×16 pixels where it would be hardly noticeable anyways. Thanks for your suggestions!

      @@EddieGarrison No worries, mate. I looked at the date and figured it would be a 50/50 chance Id get a response. Segoe UI Bold still has rounded corners and Impact is too narrow. I'm just lookin to get something similar with square or sharp edges. Any recommendations?

    Didn't really work for me, mine came out looking like a bevel rather than an engraving, tried a few times, maybe it was the font or the background.
