I wonder what headways will be like on the extension. (I get the feeling a lot of people will probably find BART to be a faster alternative to Caltrain when traveling up to San Francisco)
Karen Page it depends where you live. If you live near a CalTrain station, taking CalTrain is better. Also, CalTrain is getting electrified! That’ll make it more similar to BART. I believe the headway’s will be the same until BART changes the train control system so a more high tech control system. That, who knows when it’ll get done.
@@gillynova Actually, Caltrain is being electrified and upgraded to BART levels. They'll also have level boarding and 15-minute frequencies. Basically, Caltrain will eventually become "another BART" line on the Peninsula. With four BART transfer stations (Embarcadero/Salesforce, Millbrae, Santa Clara, and Downtown San Jose), Caltrain will be pretty much integrated into BART. Santa Cruz won't get an extension, but they and Monterey are planning their own light rail/commuter lines toward the new Pajaro/Watsonville station. Either Caltrain or the Capitol Corridor is being extended to Salinas and will serve Pajaro/Watsonville. So in a way, all of this service is planned, but not directly by BART. But BART-like Caltrain is close enough in my book! Those new electric Caltrain trains look gorgeous!
It's very hard to edit out wind noise without the entire audio sounding wonky. Sorry about that, sometimes it's just quite windy while we're filming, which is annoying for us too.
The Berryessa/North San Jose is within San Jose city limits. So congrats, BART is already there! 🎊🎂 On a more serious note, the Downtown and Santa Clara extension is about to start construction, so soon you'll get your wish!
I think A lot these comments are from Bart employees trying to encourage people to use the train, good luck filling all those cars with Santa Clara county being a hotspot for the epidemic🤧🤧😷

I’ve been wondering that too.. Caltrain has Baby Bullet, and I feel like Bart has a longer route to SF. I’ll have to try for myself haha

The viaduct was there before BART came in.
Say all you want about the delays but at least it didn't take as long as the Second Avenue Subway in New York...
