Soo you leave the holes tapped and drill the hole in the tire , u leave the tape on only if it’s wet ?? Other wise if it’s dry u take the tape off and run like that in dirt grass what ever ??
No, leave the tape on at all times. Only leave the outside holes for the air and water to get out. No reason to complicate it, this works very well..... If water gets in, just hold the RC airborne and spin the tires and the water will fly out. Check My new videos the 1000x better 😂😂 Hope your enjoying the channel, see ya round brother
I have to say that using a leather hole punch is alot easier then what you are suggesting. Seems like alot of extra work when the hole punch is 1 easy step and done.....no picking out rubber pieces or anything like that.
I don't know about a leather hole punch you could be right. This part was less that $1, and it takes like 3 minutes for all 4 tires including fishing the rubber out of the tool.... But if you already have a leather hole punch have at it. So long as the hole is about 1/8 inch or smaller 👍👍 Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback Hope your enjoying the channel
@@3SonsRC...yeah i saw it somewhere. It punches a perfect hole in the tire with like 5 hole sizes to choose from and doesnt pull on the foam inside the tire. Just another method of venting thats all.
A drill hole will close right up (it's rubber we are dealing with) need to actually create a "hole" therefore the "tube" which will remove the material and leave a visible hole.
Yes, you need to punch a hole. Drills can actually rip the tire as well instead of punching a good hole, and the drill bit can rip apart foams as well. Great question, Hope you are enjoying the channel brother, see ya round
Yeah I think so, was the only 1/8 I could find, pipe is better because this was kinda thick had to use the blade a lot to get it down sharp... But it's durable and sits in my toolbox I use it a LOT😉 APPRECIATE your time brother... Hope your enjoying the channel See ya round
Yeah man heard good things about that technique as well. Both accomplish the same thing. Haven't had one tear loose at the hole I cut though. Imagine iron might be better tho🤔 Appreciate your time brother... Hope your enjoying the channel
I balance on all my bashers as it prevents from premature bearing failure. Also when you have a high pitched vibration it can destroy the receiver and ESC sometimes.
I have not had those issues but I'm sure it helps. Hope your enjoying the channel brother, this is an old one, check some of my newer stuff.... See ya round
Yeah it's all about the kiddos, having fun and bashing RC's. Cool that you have three sons too... Actually I have 5 total😎😜😂 Feel free to check out some of my other videos as we try to cover a lot of different things and we SEND IT🚀😎 Thanks for coming by and for the support/sub, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, anything to make them smile. Our youngest is 22 months and he lights up when he sees the r.c. come out. He of course has to push it before it can take off...lol..as long as it's fun for them it's also a huge bonus that we enjoy them.
Great question! Your basically Making it so the water has one way in or out, from the outside of the tire, not the inside, because once centrifugal force (tire starts spinning) the water goes to the outside of the tire and out the holes, this is impossible if holes are only on the inside of the rim(water is trapped). If you leave the inner holes uncovered is VERY easy for water to slip in while around water.... Holes on the outside and the water slips right out once you start driving or just hold the rig and spin the tires after the bash. The holes on the inside of the rim are only to allow air in and out, they don't resolve the issue of water getting trapped and warping and degrading foams over time, also with the ballooning, air gets trapped if just holes on the inside.... You need to let the water and air out for both reasons. Even Arrma has started doing this from the factory on some of their rigs. Hope this helps, Check out other vids I hope help and BASHING ones.... Enjoy the channel See ya round brother
Great info on venting tires! However... I'm going to be the one voice that is going to disagree with you on one point. LOL! You don't NEED to balance tires for bashing, BUT it does make a difference depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Pretty much like a full scale car... if the speeds are overall slow, and/or you're primarily interested in crawling, balancing the tires is not going to accomplish much. On the other hand, if doing speed runs on the car or the kind of bashing we used to do on pavement or our local baseball diamond, balancing the tires should at least help the vehicle feel more "planted" at speed. Just my $.02!
Agreed, I kinda mentioned this in the video. I do super appreciate your time buddy.... Have an awesome day and feel free to check some of my other videos... I love feedback!
Great bench vid and info brother. That's how it's done. Thanks brother
Appreciate the support brother!
As always.... Stay safe and Bash on!
Thanks for the video!! I vented my Backflips with 3/18th size drill bit on both sides and all is good!!

Whats the reason for the metal tube vs a drill/dremel bit?
A drill hole will close right up (it's rubber we are dealing with) need to actually create a "hole" therefore the "tube" which will remove the material and leave a visible hole.

So are you just literally putting a piece of pipe in the drill and it is the hollow part of the pipe that cuts out the vent hole?
Exactly.... You just have to sharpen the one end with an exacto
It’s an air hose fitting yea?

Thanks Nico, and appreciate the share. Just putting it out there because so many people say, "Vent them" but don't talk about why and how
@@3SonsRC right Bro 👍

Why do you cover the holes on the inside with gorilla tape?
Great question!
