This sad situation is not limited to Mexico. There are areas of Texas that could also become arid zones. Large housing developments continue to draw water from limited water sources. On top of that Texas is a state that has failed to regulate the very water-wasting Bitcoin industry. Bitcoin uses specialized computers around the clock to validate transactions. All that computing power burns through a lot of energy. And like other data centers, crypto mines also use a good deal of water in their cooling systems to keep machines from overheating.

Balance has been lost. Brazil has massive floods, France terrible storms, central and Southern USA major tornado outbreaks, Arctic ice is melting away, Bering Sea ice is almost non existent, fisheries are collapsing, 100s of wildfires in Canada driving 1000s of people from their homes, but the one thing everyone should be worried about is the report from USDA that in the food growing regions of the change in the length of the growing season has changed. Flooding and record high temps, downpours have all affected crops from apples to zucchini. Cherry harvest was really a rush to get the fruit off the trees and any that didn't were too sunburnt to market. We saw entire cherry orchards NOT picked because of this in Washington State. Balance must be restored.
