I was a farmer (yes, I said, was). This breaks my heart. I had to sell my cattle because the cost of hay, grain, minerals, diesel, etc. went sky high. I sold my hogs off also. Farmers are having to sell because of rising prices and falling prices for cattle. I don’t know what consumers will do in the future? People need to find local farmers and buy from them. Better product than store bought.

As a Pole I'm shocked to see people driving Tesla, Lexus that call themselves poor and ask for help to collect free groceries. I would teach them how to manage their own money first before they reach for any public aid.
My greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat especially with the political power tussle going on in US.
Inflation already have a significant impact on individuals and their cost of living. As a result, it can cause negative market sentiment. It is important for individuals and businesses to find ways to navigate and potentially mitigate the effects of inflation on their finances. The current economic climate, including underperformance of financial markets due to fear of inflation, has led to a decrease in the value of my portfolio. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to potentially increase returns during this market downturn.
The stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over $80k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up $450k within 17 months, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

But, that is on purpose, to raise the food prices, so it will be a challenge to be able to support oneself. And in my country, we throw away food, we squander the food because we don't know how to eat healthy. Women are beautiful untill 23 years old, after that they grow fat and ugly.
I worked in Los Angeles for seven years at a non profit that supplied affordable housing for people. It was both rewarding and extremely frustrating to help people that really need it while also seeing one out of every seven applicants driving up in a 120k Mercedes’a a 3k Tag Huer watch, gaming the system. So much fraud and so out in the open that it’s disgusting.

Everything from grocery stores to cellphones companies to car dealers to gas and oil is just a huge scam. The whole U.S. is the center of all scamming in just about every business especially social media. This whole world; it's only going to get worse. Everything that is written, the policies are all in favor of the rich people who get all money without even being there in person. The lawyers the landlords are the ones who appear in their behalf and they too get a part of the money. People will get kicked out no matter who they are. Children will be the ones who suffer the most. KÖYANISQATSI...An ancient Hopi prophecy word meaning...A world without balance
Just like Reagans woman from Chicago that supposedly fraudently stole 150,000 dollars from the welfare system, problem was it was a lie , she did steal 5,000 dollars in relief money but was also convicted, sorry but I think you are a liar.
That always been like that. People gaming the system in every way possible. I always need it extra help but never went to ask for. I feel embarrassing about my own situation that I can’t even ask for help
Never forget who did this to us. Never forget what they did. Instead of turning on each other we need to stand together and confront the evil in our government.
It seems strange to see people with cars lining up for a food bank but in reality, in the US if you don't have a car you don't have a job, you don't have anything at all. Car ownership is 99% mandatory. You can do without a car, I do, I get around by bike or bus but it means being far outside the US mainstream.
I was a plumber and welder before the pandemic, I was half way through an apprenticeship when the lockdowns began, I lost my job and the entire industry went under in my area, the bills stuck around though and everything I had built and saved since I separated from the military was gone within a year just trying to keep my head above water and hold out for the jobs to come back. They never did and I had to use my hail mary in the GI Bill so I can avoid default on my car note and bills, its been 3 years and I still haven't recovered, I'm going to be 30 next year and I'm still in debt, got out of homelessness by moving in with my parents and was forced to go back to my old line of work and join my local law enforcement (something I tried my best to avoid). I've gotten a lot of hate for becoming a cop from friends, family and strangers but they were the only ones who offered me a good job after years of looking, a whole lot of talk was going around about helping each other out but not a whole lot of walk.

@LotharFriedrichFreiherrvon 🆒 you win. Bye 👋🏼 LMAO. Like who TF has time to argue with a non existent bum on RUclips. May you live the life you Deserve 🙏🏼
The sad fact about this is, this food was being prepared to be thrown away, as it always been for decades. I work at a Airport and overnight I see so much unused food being thrown away nightly. The airport, cruse industry, and restaurant industry's excuse is " Avoiding Lawsuits" . It's like even though people in the United States have this illusion of owning, yet we all rent and borrow like crazy. It's so sad we just work to pay things off.
I worked @ Sacramento International Airport. The huge amount of food being tossed daily is crazy. The Food Court has several restaurant vendors. One example is from the Pizza/Pasta Shop. They were tossing pizza out every hour. Not only by the slice but entire whole ones. Staff is not permitted to take any home.
You are So right. After 30 years, I paid off my home that I built on land I bought. The day I paid it off felt like any other . Because I know it is only mine for as long as I can hang on to it tooth and nail.
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
One of the things that causes poverty is the obsession for living a luxurious and rich lifestyle. I believe this is heavily influenced by celebrities and the entertainment world. It's sad.
People are encouraged to compete with their neighbours for the newest cars, made to feel entitled to the cream of luxury, effectively we are brainwashed to buy things we do not need, to make us feel we are achieving and worth it, all the time just making someone else richer. We are doing exactly what we have been conditioned to do. Sad really.
I agree, my neighbor is a postal Worker and wife a secretary and they have $300,000 worth of new luxury vehicles, boat, and seadoos parked in their driveway yet they can’t afford to put an $8k roof on their 1200 sqft house.
Giving food away, "regardless of the income" like this documentary points out is a stupid thing to do in America. I had a friend who had 3 houses that he rented out, and he was living in his own house. He's rich by any standard. Wife had great job. But they went to food banks like this to get their food -food meant for the poor and the struggling but many greedy, rotten people take advantage of it. There should be an income verification and the money saved should go to other assistance programs
Very true, they need to verify income, and the neediest go to the front of the line, but the greediest are allowed to take the best portions/choices of food! When I had to go to a food bank in California and I qualified in the past, I gave up going, because I would see homeowners lining up at the front of the line daily receiving free hot meals/free groceries, and the lines were extra long, sometimes I’d be told we’re out of food, and just leave empty handed. Some non poor people want free hot meals so they don’t have to cook at home, or to save money, not because they’re struggling financially! The system is messed up, and unfairness is a great shame!
Facts. I live here... and was amazed to see people in mercedes and bmws in these lines. Basically people just got greedy. As people do. And mr Tesla... yeah right.
So the USA would rather destroy food than distribute it to the poor....that is all one needs to know about the profit system in that country and elsewhere....
It costs the farmer money just to distribute it. For him, it's cheaper to dispose of it. The problem is that the local govt should be organizing to get the milk to the people and prevent waste, but they don't. Our government is a slow, short-sighted bureaucracy with no power to get things done. Same reason why an intersection will be called dangerous for years but no one does anything until it kills someone, and sometimes even then... The farmer isn't evil, the system is. The people are too alienated from the means of governance. In a small community it would be a no brainer. But our organization is a rigid, dysfunctional, inflexible mess.
@LotharFriedrichFreiherrvon trust me when i tell you that you haven’t met enough Americans if you think they are lazy. Come meet me and my family and ill show you what working hard really is
@LotharFriedrichFreiherrvon oh well im sorry that Americans decided to work smarter not harder friend. You might have lived here for 10 years but dont judge just because Americans are smarter than you. If you dont think so then why does America lead the world in space flight? Or have such great hospitals with the worlds best doctors just to mention a COUPLE. Why is the United States world's foremost economic and military power then??? Why does the us have the very best education??? And dont try and be smart with some sort of comment like the united states does not lead in one of the sectors I mentioned above because your lying to yourself, not me because i know friend. Why does foreigners say this country is utopia??? America has its problems just like any country but its doing way better than most even with the current administration. Dont hate just because Americans know how to build stuff way better than your country. Its brains,,,,,work smarter not harder lol
People are facing a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. Vivian Carol Gioia taught me to use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. I've been with her for years now and her decades of experience in the markets translate to chunks of value in so may ways! She has upscaled my portffolio and even got me reading self help books haha
We live and survive in what is basically become a giant pyramid scheme. But, as long as the handful of people at the very top of the pyramid are happy then its okay that the rest of us live in misery. At least, that seems to be the sentiment among my fellow Americans who are too distracted arguing over Bud Light than the real reason why their lives are so terrible.
You are wrong. Stop playing the victim and go work harder. If you don't like the big corporations then don't buy their products. But you still do. You hypocrite
While California is the richest state in the U.S. it also has some of the worst problems with poverty. A lot of that wealth is generated by large companies that don't necessarily sell their products or spend their profits in California. Peoples' paychecks are also effected by California's high taxes meaning a lot of the state's wealth is owned by the government. Finally California shares what is left very unequally among a huge population. Unfortunately company headquarters, luxurious government buildings, and private yachts don't help combat poverty.

Actually in the US most cars are financed and if you sell your car you'll still owe money on it besides the car you're making payments on is "the devil you know" where a cheap used car is "the devil you don't know" and will at least cost you a couple thousand in problems right off, or if you're extra lucky, will just fucking die and no one will be able to figure out what's wrong with it. Nothing says "getting out of the hole" like buying what appears to be a decent used car for $3k and the fucker dying and selling the dead car for $300. I swore then and there no more cars. Ever. I hate the things and when I move back to my home state to retire I'm even giving up my driver's license and will just get a state ID.
@@alexcarter8807 If you can't afford it, don't buy it. You can get a new decent car for 20k, why would you buy a 60k car if you don't have the means and have high monthly payments for years? A car is purely for transportation, getting you from point A to B. A Hyundai does the same job than a Benz or Tesla. You wanna show off? Fine. But then don't stand in the free food line a year later.
Most luxury cars have very little resale value. It would be pointless in most cases. The average luxury car loses half its value by the time it's five years old.
@@RMSTitanicWSL That is a known fact. Your problem if you still decide to buy such a car without having the means to keep up payments in the future. Common sense would direct you to make purchase decisions while regarding all possible future events like job change or loss etc., which DO happen. I assume some level of intelligence if you are holding a good paying job that allows you to qualify for a high loan on a luxury car. Where is that intelligence when you have nothing to fall back on if times get tough? There are poor people that have not lived above their means, those are the ones that have a right to be in the free food line.
I live in Denmark. Broke my left arm. Cost me exactly,.... Zero. Last year my landlord needed a new kidney. Cost him exactly... Zero. A few years earlier his wife got cancer. Cost her exactly... Zero.
Let me explain what you are seeing here. Someone indicated that this is a video from January 2020. Back then people panicked and cleared out the stores of food and water. This was when the pandemic was starting to hit the US. So this is why you are seeing all of these people in luxury cars in line to get free food. You couldn't buy it if you wanted to. I was working for a food bank myself at the time this went down and the food bank was giving it's employees free food as well.
@@BenState The food bank I worked at during this time got their food from three different sources. The federal government supplied canned food. Stores gave unsold food to the food bank. Although we had to go through it as a lot of it was straight up trash. A lot of it was spoiled or would spoil soon. The last was from the public that came in to donate food. Once this mess got started store and public donations ceased. Government food still came in though. The food bank had a large inventory of food stored before this mess got started. So that is how they got their food.

Social democratic welfare societies includes all. Actually US has the most expensive health care in the world, because of their corrupt insurance system.
I went to the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack. Spent the day there, then was admitted to the hospital for overnight observation. Released the next morning with a bill for $14,000+.
Do you have millions of illegals who do not pay but get free medical? The hospitals overcharge everyone else to compensate for this AND many are closing up the emergency room and or the entire hospital its a death loop.
Really? How long can you last if you stopped getting deposits. My debt to income ratio is irrelevant once I lose money. Wether making millions or minimum wage, can’t pay bills with nada.
In a normal downturn that would be true. But this whole situation was anything but normal, and a car is not a liquid asset. It takes time and buyers to convert it into cash and both were scarce early on in the pandemic.
46:44 Dude was earning $100,000/month, but ran through his savings 3-months after losing his job? Did he save nothing for a rainy day? That's just insane!
100k a year Minus 30% taxes insurance so 70k a yr so less then 1500 per weed and in the city probably still can't afford to save much probably paid fees to cash out a 401k and had a empty bank account
Yeah, that's just poor financial planning. With that kind a salary, he should be able to put 30% aside for investments and 10% away for savings every month. With a 10% savings rate, he'd save 120K a year. Automating bank transfers and investing is the key. The guy went broke very likely because he was paying too much for housing and cars. The recommendation is not to pay more than 28% of gross income for housing and ~10% for cars. However, 28% of 1.2 million is 336K a year. So, at that level of salary buying an expensive house even within the limit can be very costly if you lose your job. So a 6-12 month emergency fund with such big expenses is a must.
A country whose GDP is extremely tied up in public debts and people accessing goods and services through loans and credit cards (in other words, debt for debt's sake). For decades, bubbles and speculation have maintained the American way of life. Now, with the changes that have occurred and are occurring in the world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the status quo. The rich in the US are getting richer, wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few and the middle class is seeing its purchasing power eroded daily.
I had a millionaire boss Business owner that would go to the food banks. Frugal to the point of insanity. She just couldn't help herself anytime something was free.
I worked in a in a busy pawn shop, where people would bring in designer handbags and watches for loans. Unlike gold, those items are a trifle, not an investment, but people buy them to look richer than they are, not realizing that the truly wealthy do not give a f* - they don't have to! I'm like, why would I advertise, on my body, someone's grossly over-priced product for them? It's all for appearances. That's what the American Dream is: an image of how people think things should be, instead of how things really are.

The US has agricultural boards and such for farmers. The problem with this issue was the how fast everything stopped. When cities shut down the businesses it was an instant stop for all suppliers. I believe every country had similar issues with product in shipment, growing, or whatever. My daughter has lived in Canada for the last 10 years and it was no picnic for Canadian farmers either.

Despite the various problems we face here in Brazil, we have a public health system that provides relatively good services, free of charge, especially in large and medium-sized cities. However, we have states with very poor infrastructure, where medical care is very poor or almost non-existent. My 86 year old mother-in-law broke her femur on a Saturday, 5 days later she was undergoing surgery in a public hospital in the city of Itapecerica da Serra, close to São Paulo. Excellent service, without any type of charge. Thanks for the video!

I was a manger of a restaurant, when Covid hit,and I waited for things to open up and go back to my job,but that never happened,I had to move out of the city,I used to make 85 thousand a year, and now I make 39 thousand,I’ve always lived below my means and bought my car cash off the lot,and I raised 5 daughters and now I have two left at home, and I can barely put food on the table, sometimes it’s pay the light bill or feed my children. But in one paycheck away from being homeless like most Americans, the middle class got hit hard, and I don’t qualify for any help. But I’m thankful for everything I do have.
This is so true about the food lines. My husband is in the military, and delivers for doordash on the weekends just to buy food. We accrued a large amount of debt during sequestration, where we didn’t get our housing pay, so we paid our mortgage with credit cards for 6 months. All the people in here saying to just “budget better” clearly doesn’t understand just how bad the economy is for the working class.
I understand loosing a job is devastating.. Been there .But some of these people were earning well. The fact that they have no savings to go on shows that they lived beyond their means
Exactly. That guy driving a Tesla proves that he made good money. If he knew how to handle his money and put some money into savings, he would not be in a food line.
When we ran into financial difficulty years ago(we were running our own business) we sold our camper van, our garden tractor and used up our savings. A state that can hand out food to someone driving a Tessla is not in bad shape. Rediculous.
This comment is more ridiculous. Just because a person drives a Tesla means they should not eat? He bought the Tesla while he had a stable career , no one expected Covid to do what it did . And it’s spelled Ridiculous.

That is a bit simplistic. U have an older care but no job and a family. U can’t sell that car ur family needs it but u still have rent, food, kid stuff etc. having a car and being poor is easy to be
Something I've always speculated on... If any of my countrymen experienced the kind of desolation that exists in the truly poor areas of the world they wouldn't suffer themselves to live through it. im old millennial born 1981 41 years old. there has been a war on my generation for over 10 years now. any time you hear millennial its something bad we are always attacked and made fun of. meanwhile, hardly any of us ever had a chance to buy a house for a fair price because we were not far enough along in our working careers to have saved for a downpayment. A lot of millennials people age 41 and younger are very depressed. a lot of us come from families that were 1 parent or divorced or something like that because broken homes became rampant in the 1990s when we were growing up before we were adults. it feels like the generations older than us Gen x and boomers all dislike us millennials and younger. a lot of us were never married or had a kid either. im a good guy smart and have worked plenty hard since i was a teen. yet. never married. no kids. never owned my own home. and now, im paying crazy high rent. it seems there is no hope i will ever get a an opportunity for some good deals in life like previous generations got. its almost like my generation was targeted to be the first gen that will end up living in a more communist system. in recent years huge apartment buildings are popping up everywhere. they refuse to build us enough single family homes with yards etc. they want to cram us in shitty apartments with high rent and turn us into slaves. this is why many younger people are giving up and refusing to work or not working much. feels like there is nothing to work hard for.
As a parent of a millennial, I so thoroughly agree with you. Your generation hit with one major financial crisis after another. I'm disgusted by the current attitudes towards your generation. Inequitable distribution of wealth started in the 80's under Reagan. It's just getting worse.
In fact, it is a war on humanity in general, a war on human consciousness and it is going on since before you were born. It is going on for thousands of years
Im 40. I have a wife and 2 kids. I drive a truck for a living and wife stays home with kids. We rent. We have 2 old cars that work great. I saved most of my money for years. Never borrowed any money. Never just bought a bunch of crap. Due to managing my money since a younger age, i learned how to work on cars. I change tires, struts, all fluids, brakes and anything the cars may need. We eat a healthy, simple one meal a day diet. Kids eat what they want, when they want. We played life smart as if money actually has value. I stashed and stashed my paycheck in my savings account. I have close to 6 digits. I navigated money as if my life depended on it and it certainly paid off. Start saving and stop spending. Buy necessities only. Buy a $5k car, even if you cant do the work yourself. Still cheaper and no one can take it from you. Payments=slavery. No matter who youre making payments to.
You're smart to understand saving money at a young age. I'm sure your wife is proud and I know your kids will really appreciate the sacrifices their parents made.

Nice. Being financially responsible is super important and goes a long way if people can spare some extra for savings. It is a great safety buoy in time of need, you can even invest in a side business or 2nd house for rental and make passive income.
In my country the government runs a health insurance that must be followed by all citizens without exception, even if some already have private insurance. This health insurance is not run by private companies but is run by the government. For those who work, their salaries will be deducted for this insurance payment. For those who cannot afford it, they can ask for government support to pay for this insurance. In the end, this insurance is very helpful for those who have health problems and need high-cost treatment. This insurance has no age limit. Once you are registered, you can use it for treatment. My mother and my late father used this insurance for treatment and we did not pay a single penny to the hospital where they received treatment. I am surprised that the US, which is a number one developed country, does not have an adequate health funding system, while my country, which is a developing country, already has one.
I am so glad that my family wasn’t economically impacted during COVID, but I lost 60% of my family. I hate that virus and the last three years have been horrible for my family.
I'm still astonished that US don't have a public healthcare and even more astonished that people think that it's okay to pay 11.000 dollars for a arm surgery.
And why should there be free medicine in the USA at all? You are capitalists. Not even just capitalists , but fascists . And you impose your capitalism on the whole world. It's your fault that we don't have free medicines right now either. It was under communism, and now the Americans have come with their values. The only question is, what have you forgotten on another continent? We didn't ask you to come
Most people in the USA don't even have health insurance because it's too expensive. Insurance only covers a certain percentage of your bills and you're stuck with the rest. It's why I've opted to go to holistic care rather than the "revolving door sick care" model here in America.
People don't think medical costs here are okay. We've been screaming about it for years. The left just wants to shift the burden to the taxpayer and add to our already trillion-dollar deficit, and the right wants to do nothing at all. Neither is viable without massive overhaul to our for-profit (most expensive IN THE WORLD) healthcare $y$tem and broken-down tax policy. And neither side is particularly interested in tackling that problem.

Sad really.
I agree, my neighbor is a postal

Absolutely no, take a look at Dubai and Ireland. Poverty is main caused by excess regulation and high taxes.
No. It's because Clinton and his successors sent all of your real jobs to places like China.

A Mercedes, Tesla, BMW in the food bank line, dang it’s really hitting the fan!
"How do you think i got so rich??"
Someone, a Frenchman i think once observed that behind every great fortune is a crime.
The poverty industry is rife with fraud. You get pennies on the dollar before it gets to those in need. Overhead costs, you know.
Facts. I live here... and was amazed to see people in mercedes and bmws in these lines. Basically people just got greedy. As people do. And mr Tesla... yeah right.
Surprised your friends that guy
So the USA would rather destroy food than distribute it to the poor....that is all one needs to know about the profit system in that country and elsewhere....
So does Sweden. They poor bleach over their disposed food in the dumpsters behind the supermarkets.
It's worse today... Tomorrow isn't looking any better either.

For those who cannot afford it, they can ask for government support to pay for this insurance.
