Have you ever said the word "Omnibus" so many times that it starts to sound weird? Well, when you've been to Disneyland as many times as I have there are certain things in the park that just start to pop out at you. So here are five weird things on Main Street USA that no matter how logical, practical, decorative, or nonsensical, just seem, unusual!

Another Weird or interesting fact. The Disneyland flag pole base is actually an old light post from Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Disney Imagineer and Set Designer Emile Kuri saw a broken flag pole on the way home and purchased it for $5. This is still the base of the Disneyland flag pole today. I just went to a presentation at The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California with Disney Legend Marty Sklar. He actually talked about the police station, so it's funny you mentioned it right after I learned about it! He said it was his office in the park during its earlier years of operation. He would always lock the doors that led into the building but one time he left it unlocked by accident and people started to come in. When he realized this gave him a chance to listen to what the guests had to say, he started leaving his door unlocked all the time. He would then present the guests concerns and suggestions to Walt Disney himself! I thought it was a cool story! It's funny that you mentioned this police station right after I learned about it.
Going to Disneyland in late August. Maybe I'll find you doing something crazy like in all of your "weird" videos. I wonder what other people think when they see you recording trash cans, counting light bulbs, and face down in the middle of the street! xD Nice video though!

I actually over rate Main Street because it is my favorite Disneyland Land, and it is deservedly so. It may not really have attractions or much to do but it is possibly the most detailed part of Disneyland, it is just AMAZING, also it is the place that really gets you going with excitement to what the rest of the day has to offer. Also it is the last place you say goodbye when leaving the park. Main Street is an AMAZING place, if I was a annual passholder I would go some times and spent all day just at Main Street.

I love your videos man. I grew up in 3 different cities in southern California and had an annual pass from just about the day I was born until I moved to florida, and I went to disneyland so often it was basically my home. so seeing someone else who has that same connection to it is awesome, and it's even more awesome to learn about things that I never knew or noticed when I was younger. keep up the amazing work

I went to Disneyland for the first time in my life (with my wife and kids btw) in early July and I can't wait to get back. Mostly because I want to find the things that you point out. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming.
How come you don't have a video on the forgotten ride in frontier land? You can see the tracks near thunder and also on the island by the fort. I believe it's an original but I do know it was a ride. Would love to see a video to find more info on it
You're either taking about natures wonderland or the old mine train ride. I'm pretty sure he's mentioned both in his previous videos.

Hey just a WEIRD but also interesting fact, the American flags on main street don't actually have 50 stars on them! It's because if they had 50 stars on them they would be considered real flags and would have to lit up at night and hung low for unfortunate circumstances. Hope you learned something new! Keep up the great videos! Absolutely love them!
Hey Justin, can you dig into more of the history of the stick hitching post? (When it was installed, who designed it, etc) It looks fairly new, but it would be very interesting if it was installed around the time of opening with Walt's approval.
Does anyone remembered the Light Magic??? I was not able to see it live but i think (Positive way) the fiber optics lights on the Main Street buildings were it was used during the parade show stop were still there.

I remember back when that former police station building was used as a handicap application area. Back when I was starting to develop my disabilities, we used to go there to get some sort of pass so I wouldn't have to wait in line for the attractions and kill my back and bummed knee at the time standing. ^^;

Is the legend regarding the brass spike under sleeping beauty's marking the center of the park true?
No. Just look at a map of Disneyland and figure out where the spike is it's not actually the center. If you really want to test the theory look at a map that doesn't include Toontown.

Hi Justin! I absolutely love your videos. I have learned so much about Disneyland from watching your amazing videos. I would have never learned about the ''Test Wall'' or The Motorboat Cruise without your channel. Seeing as how you are such a Disneyland fan, I have a suggestion that you should start. I think you should start Disneyland Pin Trading! Pin Trading is such a big part of Disneyland and so are you! It would just be a very fun addition to your channel. There is also some juicy history behind some of those pins! ;-) Keep on being incredible in Randomland!

I wonder if that building still smells of tobacco? Sometimes the smell of cigars, even those not smoked, leave behind that aroma and it stays in the walls of the building itself. Just wondering.
Justin, you should start some business or something where you get private groups together and do tours of the history of Disney like you do in these videos, I bet you could make money. I'd pay for that. Does Disney provide any service like that themselves? If so they need to hire you man! Great video as always. Keep rockin on both channels

The horse hitching posts are all over New Orleans French Quarter, so maybe they have them in Disneyland because of New Orleans Square.
+DestinyStellaNox I think Disney uses them as stanchions for the parade and events "do not cross" ropes. So it makes sense that NOSQ. has them too for Fantasmic.

I remember that tobacco shop, and there's another tobacco Indian in Frontierland as there was a shop there, too! (I don't remember that one).
I knew about the two-toned light bulb. It was Walt's idea because there is an odd number of light sockets.
There's certainly no need for concern about there being enough security at the DLR! There's the uniformed Anaheim Police you see and the plain-clothed you don't, the Disneyland security white-shirts with the panama hats and some in street clothes and FBI in plain clothing are always there. Any of these forces could be and are at any place in the resort at any point in time!

you forgot Disney has a secret service on main street! You need to do a video on Disney secret service and other innovations even after Walt Disney died are still used today.
