I worked as a Cast Member at Disneyland in 1986. Watching your faces and seeing your smiles takes me back to many fond memories! Glad you had a great time!
Make no mistake: you hard-working cast members and especially the cast's ability to interact with the customers is what make Disneyland more than just a 'theme park' like Six Flags or the like (my trip to Disneyland Paris about ten years ago taught me that this may not be done at every park; their characters did nothing but stand in alcoves and pose for pictures with customers). Disneyland has kind of priced itself out of my level of interest in recent years, but nobody does what Disneyland (and Disney World) do quite as well. As much artistic integrity as one can reasonably hope for from a mega-corporation. Incidentally, I think that the interactive cast participation, which was not present before, say, 1975, was partly an influence from the Southern California Renaissance Faire (which stressed that sort of thing as a major point of distinction) in the 1970s and 1980s. Certainly some people from Faire were also on the creative staff for Disney during those years. And the musicians I played with at Faire one year were unavailable the next year because they were performing in the Disneyland band. Shared DNA.
I grew up in Long Beach, and we would drive out through the Orange Groves to Disneyland once a year. I am 67, and we always looked forward to new rides that were added. Some of the best memories of my life.
This made me cry. I am 43 and have lived within 15-30 miles of Disneyland my whole life. I have gone to Disneyland twice a year for the past 39 years. Since I was 4 years old. My family had rough times when I was young, my dad had terrible PTSD, so things were very challenging. The only time I ever felt like we were a family and my dad was happy was at Disneyland. It is the only place that holds my best memories. No, I paid for the 2 weeks stay and park. Ate at many world restaurants and rode many rides and adventures. I was 48 before I ever got to go to Disney World. I got to share it with my wife and Kids, so it was worth the wait. This a memory you will never forget, feeling like a kid with your kids.
I love this family’s adventurous spirit! 🥰 They are out to experience all they can during their stay, here in America, and I love taking that journey with them!!😊 God Bless America!!🙏 And all the tourists who don’t take for granted all America has to offer!!
Not gonna lie - my mouth was open at the end, too. The fireworks and castle look just like in the movies. I had no idea it would look that good in person. Looks like you guys had a great visit.
I was 32 when I first visited Disneyland. I was filled with the same amazement and excitement. I have returned several times since. I love Disneyland! I’m glad you had an enjoyed your visit.
My girlfriend used to work for Disney. Learning about some of the crazy stuff that goes into making the parks so special really makes you appreciate it even more. Wasn't the biggest Disney fan by any means, but truly love and respect all the stuff they do to make people happy and all of the incredible technology and infrastructure behind the scenes. Highly recommend looking up info about the parks. It will amaze you.
That's what makes Disney parks so magical huh, everywhere is done up and larger than life. So much detail in everything. Even waiting in line can be nice. Im so very glad you all got to go. Your fam is just as magical as Disney
I'm 60 and live in San Diego, not too far south of there and still love the place. There is a magic about it that just can't be explained. So glad you could get there and experience it. Love the look on your faces throughout the video. Pirates and the Haunted Mansion are my favorites. Love your content.
Walt Disney was such a visionary, who simply wanted to bring joy by creating this whole other world for families to enter into. It’s magical. The appeal of Disneyland and Disney Wold is universal for families AND for those who are children at heart. It’s wonderful seeing you enjoy this!
My first trip to Disneyland was in 1956 brought there by my Grandparents. Disneyland itself was much different then and most of the rides are long gone replaced by modern technology and more sophisticated rides but they were magical to us. If you can imagine it, Disneyland was basically out in the country and was surrounded by strawberry fields and there were only a few small motels around the park and we stayed in one. I was just a young boy from a small town in Texas and it was all new and exciting to me but to get to stay in a motel, total luxury! TV was new to our little town but us kids we did get to watch the Mickey Mouse Club and weekly Walt Disney Presents program at night, so as kids Disney was about as good as it could get and a trip to Disneyland was above anything I could ever hope for. Well that was many years ago before any of you including Mom and Dad were born but the whole point of this post is to tell you how much I enjoyed watching your trip to Disneyland. Times may have changed but watching your family rekindled that joy and awe I experienced as a six year old all those years ago. Thank you very much.
This is the first video of yours that has made me cry. Makes me yearn for my youth, and a simpler time, instead of all the problems I have now. I'm so glad you guys had a great time, it does my heart good to see it.
It really is all it's reputation, but then again, I've never been to Disneyland either, only Disney World. I went there/Bahamas on my honeymoon in 1990 (begrudgingly, of course) and was completely surprised how much I loved it. We left the Bahamas early and went back to DW! Everyone should see it at least once.
@@MoMoMyPup10 It was May. Sorry we missed each other. Did you get to snorkel around Blue Lagoon Island? I loved how "Dory" swam right up to my face and was as enchanted with me as I were her. 😂

This makes me happy. Seeing all of you experience the sheer wonder of the Disney parks. Most of the time, the parents are exhausted from start to finish, and only the kids are excited.
I have been to Disneyland many times since I was 2 years old. I am now 47. I went 6 times last year alone. It is so magical. It is a feeling that you can not explain. I am glad your family got to experience it.
A friend of mine played Darth Maul at Disney and His now wife played Princess Jasmine. It was so fun to see them. I smiled the whole way thru this video as you all enjoyed your time.
i grew up near Disney World in Florida. One of my fondest memories was when I was about 10. My mother woke my brother and I up and said, "You're not going to school today! You are going to Disney World!" It was early December and it was in the middle of the week. There were no crowds. My brother and I rode non-stop on the rides. This was back in the 70's and you had to purchase "ride" tickets. You had to purchase entrance tickets as well. These days December is very busy for Disney as are the summer months. I am not a huge fan of Disney these days for various reasons but, I do feel that you should visit not only the Magic Kingdom but, all of the other Disney Parks like Epcot (a totally different experience- more educational) and Animal Kingdom. Orlando has so much more to offer as well including Universal Studios and Sea World. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
We love your family !! My wife and I are recently retired Disneyland cast members. 50 years for me and 49 for her. Your pure joy and happiness being there was why we both loved our careers working there. Like any job there are tough days but the vast majority was the knowledge of people loving the Disneyland Resort and their happiness made it so much fun. Loved our co-workers and miss them. To see Disneyland through all of your eyes is a wonderful gift. Best wishes always, come back soon !
I think all kids should go to Disneyland at least once! I was there in the eighties (FL, before Epcot was built) and even being 12 I enjoyed it. The light parade in the evening was great. So glad you guys are able to do this! 👏👏👏👏👏💚💛🧡
I cry every time I watch people experience Disneyland for the first time 💀 I’m so happy you guys were able to experience it.i grew up going to Disney almost every weekend since my family I’ll y had season passes. I probably go once every couple years now. This will be a very happy memory for you guys :) enjoy the rest of your trip.
OMG the price of food there is crazy! My mom used to sneak snacks in in her purse for us. Lol. The smiles you guys shared said everything about your time there. So happy for you all.
Hope you get to go to Disney world next. It dwarves Disneyland. With 4 parks 2 water parks etc. also fun facts. Space mountain only goes 27mph but feels so much faster
Having lived in Southern California for so many decades, it's easy to take Disneyland for granted, even as a fan of the place. It was great to get to see it through the eyes of newcomers!
That person getting you nice seats for the fireworks was definitely an employee creating a "magic moment." When I first went to Disney World when I was 8, my family was selected to be grand marshals at the parade.
So glad you enjoyed! I live close enough to know it's 9:30pm when I hear the distant rumble of the fireworks, but Disneyland has become so expensive I haven't visited since the Star Wars section was added. So thanks for the glimpse. Star Tours predates the rest, but I see they've changed the "adventure." And dear old Space Mountain, the best ride when I was a kid, isn't really that fast or scary- with the lights on! I've been through it on the Peoplemover (showing my age) when it was being renovated. After they added that heart-pumping soundtrack about 20 years ago, the ride suddenly felt MUCH, much faster! :)
Wait they do the lights on Space Mountain now? It has been so long since I left Cali and so much longer since I have been to Disneyland. I remember going as a teenager with my boyfriend's family. He had a little sister, maybe around 7 years old, that road space mountain with me, it was both our first time. She did not make a sound on that ride. I had to reach out to her periodically because I was terrified she had fallen out.
No you can’t ride it with the lights on but back when they had the people moved if you were on it and it was down you could get a glimpse with the lights on. It’s a trip. I grew up at Disneyland but live by WDW now. Recently I saw the space mountain here with the lights on. It’s weird to see. We do t have the cool music.
@occheermommy I lived near Magic Mountain most of my life, but for a couple of years, when I was 13-14, I was in a group home in Anaheim. That is when I got to go to Disneyland with my boyfriend.
I absolutely love that you have videos - home movies in my day, lol - of your children's reactions. The last few of their awe at the fireworks was a wonderful way to end this one! What cherished memories you can look back on and relive when they are grown.
Seeing your family at Disneyland was epic!!!! Your son getting to make a light saber, so cool. He was so happy, and i think you enjoyed it as much as he did. Just awesome!!!
I'm 52 and live about 5 miles west of Disneyland. I've been going since I was a few months old. My brother used to work there in about 1976. Up until just a few years ago, I had an annual pass and was always there--every 4th of July and New Years Eve for fireworks (I was there at the turn of the millenium!). I've been waiting for this video! If only I'd known which day you guys were going to be there, I'd have bought a ticket just to come by and say hi. The park has changed a lot through the years but still has that special magic. I've been to the Florida parks a few times and, grand as they are, there is just something special about this original park that the other parks can't touch. (:
So happy to see your family have a great time at Disneyland. It's an experience for sure and usually takes more than a day to 'fully' experience it comfortably . So glad you guys were able to experience it 💞
Food and everything else there is crazy expensive! I went to High School in Goleta (near Santa Barbara). Every year, DL would hold a senior high school graduation party from all over the state at Disneyland. The whole park was closed all night for the event. We all bussed in. It was an event to remember ❤❤

Beautiful day for a beautiful family! Ive traveled quite a bit at 53. My kids are all in their 20's and 30's now but I still get to Disney world at least 2-3 times a year. It is for me truly the most magical place on earth. I hope when you come back to America you will consider at least 4 days in Orlando to visit Disney World. Its incredible! I am good friends with quite a few cast members and have been to the parks probably at least 100 times so I would love to help you plan it if you decide to go!
Seeing you guys get to experience this part of America really puts your entire journey thus far into perspective. This video felt so right and encapsulated the journey beautifully. I was 48 before I ever got to go to Disney World. I got to share it with my wife and Kids, so it was worth the wait. This a memory you will never forget, feeling like a kid with your kids.
As someone who has grown up in Florida, watching first time Disney goers never gets old. The last part with the Fireworks was especially touching 🥹🙌🏽
The looks on your faces priceless Walt Disney dream lives on
I was 32 when I first visited Disneyland. I was filled with the same amazement and excitement.
I have returned several times since. I love Disneyland!
I’m glad you had an enjoyed your visit.
Looks of awe and satisfaction on kids' faces. Priceless.
Yeah they definitely go well above and beyond making the park feel like magic is around every turn. It's impressive the effort.
Disneyland is the best. Nothing else like it. Your faces and reactions were priceless. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Walt Disney was such a visionary, who simply wanted to bring joy by creating this whole other world for families to enter into. It’s magical. The appeal of Disneyland and Disney Wold is universal for families AND for those who are children at heart. It’s wonderful seeing you enjoy this!
Denzi's reactions to everything 10/10
Here I am 63, living in the USA and never been to Disneyland. Hope you all had a great time. Love From Michigan and it's a cold and snowy Evening.
I wish I were a rich because I would pay for it in a heartbeat. It's an experience and great memories everyone should have.
@@MoMoMyPup10 I was in the Bahamas in 1990 for my honeymoon as well. 😆
@@mygreywolf November? 😁
@@MoMoMyPup10 It was May. Sorry we missed each other. Did you get to snorkel around Blue Lagoon Island? I loved how "Dory" swam right up to my face and was as enchanted with me as I were her. 😂
As a subscriber from the start... I am SOOO HAPPY for this family!! I just love you guys... I really hope you enjoyed America!!!! It sure seems like you did! lol 😜 Something I thought of.. a video like this makes me want to say... This is what the land of the Free.. Home of the brave looks like... This is what Americans and mostly our troops fight for.. This kind of Freedom and Happiness! This is what makes America so wonderful!
I was thinking this same exact thing as they were watching the fireworks. Very well said.
Land of the Free? The Nation they are from ranks higher on the Freedom Index. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@ethandollarhide7943 First of all.. I said "LAND OF THE FREE.. HOME OF THE BRAVE" Second... if sht hit's the fan.. AMERICANS are armed and ready to defend for ANY REASON... That my friend is TRUE FREEDOM! FK an index dummy!🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@fa_engineer3687 Who said I was from the United States? Why would I live in your Christian Theocracy pretending to be a Free Nation 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've never been to Disneyland but went to Disney World and did all the parks and Downtown Disney in 6 days. Totally exhausting! Glad you guys had a great time.
I love this family. They're unabashedly close, and seem to enjoy almost everything, and the stuff they don't care for is just an added experience.
This makes me happy. Seeing all of you experience the sheer wonder of the Disney parks. Most of the time, the parents are exhausted from start to finish, and only the kids are excited.
Disney is the Happiest Place on Earth. I am so glad that your family had the chance to experience it. (good memories will last forever!)
So glad y’all made it to Disneyland! It’s beautiful to see you all enjoying our country. I hope y’all had a wonderful time.
Taking your children to Disney is a dream come true for them!
I have been to Disneyland many times since I was 2 years old. I am now 47. I went 6 times last year alone. It is so magical. It is a feeling that you can not explain. I am glad your family got to experience it.
Been watching this family’s vids for several years now. They are really great people and I’m glad they finally made it to America! ❤ love them!
You guys need to move here! 😊
So happy you guys got to experience that. The look of awe on Denz and Atlanta's faces at the end says it all. That's what it's all about. ❤
So you were at Disney World which is much larger.
@@xxxterm Disney World is bigger but that really just means more walking between everything. Disneyland is much better content.
U were at Disney world witch is different
@@rayrayber_I figured it would vary but I would have thought the one in California would have been bigger?
I’ve been to Disneyworld (years ago), never been to Disney land so this video is very nice 👍. Thank you NZ Family for sharing your experience.
What a wonderful memory for your family, looks like a trip of a lifetime.❤
Seeing how excited you guys were for every little thing what tears to my eyes how genuine your reactions were
Having lived in Southern California for so many decades, it's easy to take Disneyland for granted, even as a fan of the place.
@@shadowkissed2370 I used to love Magic Mountain but can’t ride anything there now because of back issues and such
My parents were so excited to go for the first time. They were super jealous of their classmates and friends who got to go when they were younger.
Awww…as a California girl, I went to Disney a fair amount growing up. Loved seeing you enjoying it so much!
Looks so amazing haven't went in a while looking at you video with all the fun I'll give it another try again love you guys my New Zealand family..
So glad you guys were able to experience it 💞
Disneyland 7 square miles
Disney World 47 square miles
🏰 *Have A Magical Day* 🎆
So glad you guys enjoyed Disneyland!
Disney Land is cool but if you want the ultimate Disney Experience then go to Disney WORLD in Orlando
This made me smile for 19 minutes straight. So happy you all got to go and experience Disneyland. Now, Walt Disney World in Florida lol!!!!!
My thoughts exactly! Disney World next!! 👏🏻🙌🏻
Food and everything else there is crazy expensive! I went to High School in Goleta (near Santa Barbara). Every year, DL would hold a senior high school graduation party from all over the state at Disneyland. The whole park was closed all night for the event. We all bussed in. It was an event to remember ❤❤
Grad nights are great. Specific schools go on specific spring nights. Remember mine in '74
I was so hoping to see this happen! Can’t wait to watch this!
The family is extremely pleasant. The parents very loving and the children very polite, and sweet. I'm glad they had fun.
That was cool. Looks like y'all got to make a really nice family memory.
honestly brought tears to my eyes seeing y'all have so much fun and be happy in a place i grew up in. i didn't grow up literally in Disneyland, lol, but around the surrounding areas. anyway, this video was one of my favorites this year, love you guys so much x
I am glad you came to the Original Disneyland and avoided the humidity of Disneyworld in Florida
I'm glad you enjoyed Disneyland. Would love for you to go to DisneyWorld in Florida. Such a GIGANTIC place with literally an overwhelming amount of things to see, do and experience
I grew up near Disneyland and I forget because I've been there so many times just how much magic there is in it. It was absolutely wonderful to see your family light up, getting to experience that!
these kids will grow up with some amazing memories. these are the kind of children you hardly see in America. disciplined, well-mannered and i haven’t seen them throw a tantrum once. Thank You NZ family for sharing us your experience at D-Land and hope you enjoy the other attractions here in America. Be sure to check out Universal Studios in California!!
Bro wth they edit these videos you know that right?
On the parking lot tram in DisneyWorld, as a kid, my mind was blown when the lady pointed out that DisneyLand (where I been the year before) would fit in it's entirety within the bounds of DisneyWorld's parking lot.
