Double Muzio is actually quite sound (at least if it's done the correct way), with perfect play it seemingly ends in a (material) draw, but white can usually also find a perpetual.
I recently came in 8th place in a tournament with 2000+ players taking the top spot just playing for the kings gambit. No body would accept my attempted knight sacrifice tho lol. Still some of the wildest games I played to date. I may never go back to playing other opening since this can be cohersted as black too
Holy crap, this is so awesome. I know it's a shite open, but I fell in love with muzio and double muzio years ago and it's so cool seeing a master play it.
4:40 KG2 the silent move no defense. Black can try and escape with KG4 but then moving the bishop anywhere with discovered attack from RG7 followed by RH1. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?
Fun! It’s cool to see the power of king safety in the short time controls. Like you said at the end, d3 being the best move is not at all intuitive... So, given the time constraint the advantage is definitely to the attacker regardless of the ‘true’ strength of the position. I’m not a super strong player, but my intuition is that this meta could be pretty exploitive in blitz up to a certain rating level where defensive ability is just too strong.
Mr. Rosen can you please make tutorials for beginners like me about how to play gambits and different opening and counter openings. There are tutorials but i cant enjoy them as much as i enjoy yours.
That was great. I find when I get the muzio I usually win. Unfortunately very few people actually play the g5 lines in my experience. Isn't the double muzio where you somehow let them take on G2?
En Passant. It means in passing. If a pawn moves two and goes right next to an enemy's pawn then the enemy's pawn can take. But they have to take on that move.
Hi Eric! Do you know if Magnus Carlsen plays Choker? Recently I was playing someone with a nickname DrNykterstein. I got a winning hand right from the start of the game, and even despite of that I've blundered (man, this is really scary to play someone with such a nickname :D), but then anyway won on the time. That was the only game because I went all in at the first hand.
After Be5, opponent has f6, blocking the bishop. Instead, the best move is Bxe6, and only after black recaptures you can skewer the queen and rook with Be5, as the f pawn wouldn't be there to stop the attack.
Hello and Welcome to the world. We are currently experiencing a toilet paper shortage. It is important that you don't panic. Lunch will be served shortly. Please be advised that the bacon sandwiches are indeed excellent.
I'm around 1700 and yet, somehow, a lot of people still fall for the fried liver attack I can't refrain for trying it whenever opponent gave me the chance. But to be honest the halloween made me win so many undeserved points lol way more than the fla ...
Le Cobra umm I’m 1700 too but no one really falls for the fried liver attack they just do the normal line where they sac a pawn and I retreat my bishop to d3
Reverse Double Muzio - sounds like the newest combination in Snowboard halfpipe at the X-games.
Video should be renamed "Eric thinks about sacrificing all his pieces for ten minutes straight"
lol that's pretty much every video of eric
Double Muzio is actually quite sound (at least if it's done the correct way), with perfect play it seemingly ends in a (material) draw, but white can usually also find a perpetual.
I find your voice so calming to listen to! No pretence of smugness like many other players.
Rubber Dinosaur yessss dude honestly it’s like asmr. I sometimes exclusively come to these videos to fall asleep at night, like right now
This. And don't take that as an insult because your videos are really good
Rosen playing a double piece sacrifice most unsound gambit that he's never heard before against a 2200 and winning in 16 moves. With black though.
Double Muzio is actually the soundest double-piece sacrifice in chess.
Max Khovanski obviously you lack experience with Jerome theory
Checkout Chigorin vs Davydow game from 1874. Its the gold standard of Muzio gambit.
9:00 you won Connect4!
that's nothing, when he started he won connect 8!
@@n8style thats nothing yesterday i was playing and i got connect 16. im so lonely, ill take anyone, a moose a broad a chair, please help.
Finally! Higher rated players acknowledge my techniques!
I dont think you want that

Of chess, it has been said that life is not long enough for it, but that is the fault of life, not chess.
Kevin from thechesswebsite has a good breakdown of the Triple Muzio. Great video, thanks for the fun openings!
Yes he is a no nonsense chess youtuber. Sad he didnt achieve same fame as Rosen, Levy etc.

Eric's asking real question here... "How do I mate?"
He's so calming, while his opponent is probably sweating bullets over a super uncomfortable position.
I'm playing the virus
- IM Eric Rosen in times of Corona pandemic
2:10 i didnt know pawns could capture like that
Its en passant, if a pawn moves 2 and a pawn is next to it, you can take the pawn
@@RubyPiec whaaassst
Google “en passant”
Had to save this vid so I can try this, it looks like so much fun. Thank you for the video, Eric. Love the content.
4:40 KG2 the silent move no defense.
Black can try and escape with KG4 but then moving the bishop anywhere with discovered attack from RG7 followed by RH1.
AM I MISSING SOMETHING?
Yeah, I saw it too. Would have been forced checkmate.
Finally, a stream I actually attended! Too bad it was near the end. You should do some more gambits! Keep up the great content, Eric! ^-^

4:42 Rf5 was the mating move
...Ne4, Bd2+ Kh4, Be1+ Ng3, Bxg3#
book move is Bc4 on move 4 not h4. h4 is a different line and neglects getting the rook lined up on the f file immediately
Muzio is Italian and it means "kitchen sink"
Muzio gambits nice! This reminds me of Paul Morphy's games :)
really nice video. your channel is really good and inspired me to make my own.
The beserk button though maybe the berserk button thought lets lets not work
Ben S Chess, my dude.
"Now look at the pathetic state of black's position 😂"
You could say you did the Double Double Muzio Gambit
It's actually called the Polerio gambit
This reminds me of Mikhail Tal's games. Who needs pieces to win?
Hi Eric
I'm a big fan:)
Why don't you upload videos in youtube every time you steam in twitch?
We need more videos.
He meant be5 around move 15. When the black Queen was on g7.
At 5:38 why not Rook d6? What am I missing?
I feel so much better after seeing an IM blunder so bad 🤣
Just a question in 2:14 is that pawn move allowed?
That was en passant
Hey Eric, Im looking forward to your play in the IM not a GM SCC. Good Lukc!
Alpha Zero is proud
Mr. Rosen can you please make tutorials for beginners like me about how to play gambits and different opening and counter openings. There are tutorials but i cant enjoy them as much as i enjoy yours.
3:16 life’s good
Why black resign too early on game 2? A saw a lot of possible moves after the check
That was great. I find when I get the muzio I usually win. Unfortunately very few people actually play the g5 lines in my experience. Isn't the double muzio where you somehow let them take on G2?
What for a stupid line. I love it!
Do you think that AlphaZero only marches its a-pawn because it is the a(lpha zero)-pawn?
6:09 Black could destroy you with Re6 Kf5
Fantastic muzios
Anderssen gambit 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 f5
i dont know if this counts as playing the muzio gambit my man
What is that wired move of the pawn where the pawn moved diagonally?!
Poisson some like that
En Passant. It means in passing. If a pawn moves two and goes right next to an enemy's pawn then the enemy's pawn can take. But they have to take on that move.
Rf5 at 4:50 followed by Bd2 seems like a forced mate but maybe I’m missing something.
But black could go Rf8
@@Horzinicla Yeah I think you're right. That's why Eric's an IM and I'm far from it!
There's also knight takes H6 that counters it
"so how do I mate?" 😂
The eternal question.
@Eric Rosen : Double Muzio is not interesting. Next time, try the Triple Muzio if you can. It’s very strong, aggressive and too much fun !!
Can somebody explain me wtf happend in 2:09 ???? A pawn was taken by another pawn ilegally
google en passant, bro
At 8:24 why not play knight in front of king
How do you add more lines to check in analysis like towards the end 10:30
Why did the last opponent resign? Am i missing something?
bishop e5 win the rook 2:39 ?

Wow. Its a zugzwang isnt it??
bro you don’t play h4 you castle after the knight sac
Upload the whole tournament fir RUclips viewers
I was so disappointed that Muzio Gambit was real, and not april fools'. :/
Oloy. Pawn white eats black.

not really double muzio
You should castle, not play h4 on move 4.
One vet to rule them all i was getting so mad like wtf 💯
If y’all watched the full video you would see he realizes he’s not supposed to play h4.
The muzio gambit is like the fried liver attack you NEVER accept it a human can never win you did the opening wrong tho..

Bishop should go to e2 not d3
Paul Morphy there’s two lines d3 and e2 d3 is a little better
Paul Morphy well for me I like it cuz it prevents e4
GMs are such bad players. *I* would *never* make these moves.
don't play h4 or Bc4 (Muzio gambit) after g5.
instead play the quaade gambit Nc3.
1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 g5 4. Nc3 g4 5. Ne5 Qh4+ 6. g3 fxg3 7. Qxg4 g2+ 8. Qxh4 gxh1=Q 9. Qh5
and white is winning

wtf is h4..ugh thats ugly. Not a Muzio
