Don't worry bro, stay strong. Life has its ups and downs, and we need to eventually accept them, because nothing good will happen by stubbornly trying to go back.

Yeah I blundered my queen back to age 10, first competition in my life, I had an endgame queen + pawn vs queen and gave a mate thinking my queen was protected by my pawn. I stopped the clock and wrote 1-0. What a surprise when his king took my queen ! I forgot my pawn was going the other way... still traumatised 24 years later :)
Childhood chess blunders stay with us forever. I remember loosing to a scholar's mate. I ocasionaly had a weak opening but scholar's mate shook me as a child.
The blunder I most remember was an interschool competition. I was up against the Jesuit HS champion and had mostly played a brilliant match all the way through, maintaining a balance, not making any real mistake, and slowly gaining advantage. Closing for the kill in the endgame, I made one tiny mistake that allowed him to escape into stalemate and blew the whole game. I acted badly when that happened, I'm afraid, but that was the dumbest mistake I ever made in any game outside of club competition or a casual game. That was a bit more than 40 years ago.
Something about chess theory reminds me of my years studying music theory: both areas have odd little names for common idioms that involve place names, where the reasons for that name have become quite obscure or irrelevant to their use now. In chess, it's opening stuff like Sicilian Defence, Indian Defence, Berlin Variation, Catalan Opening, and so on. In western music theory, it's stuff like Neapolitan chord, German sixth, French sixth, Italian sixth, Phrygian mode, etc.
Hey Gotham! I’m 1000 rated, and after watching this, I proceeded to play a game with 95% accuracy! I wonder if it had something to do with you, but even if it didn’t, I’d still like to say thank you for the amazing content you manage to put out on the daily!
I was actually laughing out loud and cackling at Wesley's forced stalemate at 14:10. You absolutely did not disappoint, that is actually a hilarious game.
As a senior in HS, I can safely say that people do still fight. In fact the main differences are that they don't wait until after school and everyone in the school finds out in like 10 minuets.
My professor has designated a specific class time everyday to watch one of your videos, and if one of us has watched it we can't spoil it. Thanks Levy, you make our class time better :)
I love how Levy's films are so well delivered, I mean a quality of both content and execution. You can barely see any cuts, the topics are funny, interesting and usually mindblowing and to appreciate it even more - there is no background music whatsoever, which the video doesn't need to be watchable and entertaining.
The Stare today was interesting, it had a mix of intense rage and seriousness, showing guilt and rage over the blunder of a queen, a solid 7.2/10 Great job Levy!
levy had his own fight club in his days back in school which wasn't under a bar, but in the woods , where he would beat up kids and other kids would keep it a secret truly the mafia of 2000s this deserves a pin of crime
that south park stockfish impression was so good lmao, i didn't know it but it sounded exactly like what i would imagine stockfish would sound like now that you've shown us that impression
I love watching your videos, you are one of the few remaining creators i could watch an entire 20 minute video of without skipping or just playing a new video
As a high school senior, I personally haven’t seen many if any serious physical fights, but I also went to school in a place where many parents were very well educated and students are very aware about how their actions can affect their college prospects, especially with everything going on social media now. More verbal bullying and just being horrible people.
In school we literally had a fight club in the bathroom, and there was always one kid who brought the 2 pairs of gloves, one bottle of water to squirt over someones face if they were bleeding, and bandages. Not only that but people would place bets with each other on who would win.
“Have you ever blundered your queen in chess?”
You have no idea…
I haven’t (today)
I can blunder my queen in checkers
The real question is have I ever *not* blundered my queen in chess.
Makes me feel better; knowing that the masters blunder their queen sometimes.
You guys don't blunder your queen? I'm so bad it happens at least twice a day
This man may not be pregnant, but he never fails to deliver

Semi original
@YeaMan that's why you're commenting the same thing over and over again
Midwives deliver. Pregnant people poo and pee.
I'm so happy I'm not a woman. 😅
This comment is no way original. It’s annoying how much I see it.

everyone always mentions Levy's iconic stare in the intro, but can we take a second to appreciate how good his "get out of here" outro was today?

Though yeah, I still remember that time when I blundered the winning game in school competition. The devastation is unreal.

Yes. School children do still fight. The difference is, they don't wait to do it away from everyone else so they don't get in trouble
Gotham is the type of person to go in the sun to dry his own sweat
Good one

I've had games where my opponent has made blunders that I thought were so obvious that I was falling for a trap. I wonder if the same happened here.
