  • This video is a quick overview of our 68 Camaro SS. An original 396 / 375hp 4 speed car, ordered from Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles, CA. Documented with it's original Protect-O-Plate and inspection from Jerry MacNeish. The car sat dormant from 1971-1995, as the 2nd owner was killed in an car accident. The car was discovered at the home of the 2nd owners mother. There sat the car, the original 396, and the installed L88 427.

    Truly one of the prettiest muscle cars ever built, in my opinion, absolutely stunning example right here. And man, you can drive!

    As a former owner of a new 68 Camaro with the same trim, I am eating my heart out. I am happy for you.

    The stock interior appeals to me. It’s stark and sinister. “The car is what it is” and we love it for it. Well said! Beautiful car. I have a ‘67 RS/SS Triple Black.

    My dad and I built up a 68 to look just like that L78, with the hood and the base interior. We put a super t-10 4 spd in it with 4.56 eaton rear (c-clip elim) and the motor was a big block from a 72 Monte Carlo SE which was 402ci. Its limited to what you can do with it, but if you are cruising around the streets it get it done. And the track it can pull the front up if you slip the clutch just right. We sold the car a little over 8 years ago. I regret it. Nice car!

      What a great car with the original L78 on a stand and an L88 under the hood. This car has an original POP also, it shows the selling dealer and engine, transmission and rear end.

    What happened to the L78 motor? I thought you mentioned putting heads back on it, when and why the switch to the L88, especially on a 37,k mile car?
    Beautiful car love to know history and of course story about owning it 3x now lol. What s great sound when you went through the gears, , btw Rockcrusher ? Sound on my phone so - so but thought it sounded like M22. Thanks again!!

      Hey Jeff!
      I have the original motor for the car. I freshened that last year when I freshened the L88. I have all owner history back to the original owner. The car does have an M22 in it. Thanks for the interest!

    Sweet!! Could it use a 5th gear?

    • @bouldermotorcar
      @bouldermotorcar  6 месяцев назад +5

      It certainly has the torque to pull a 5th gear. The M22 works really well, plus the whine is part of the experience;)

      Have you seen prices lately? Small block SS restored are 70k . If it is what it is, and he has the original L78 block or even date coded or CE block he'll get that 100k and then some!!
