- 1968 Yenko 427 Camaro Muscle Car Of The Week Video #12

This week, we're taking a look a pristine 1968 Yenko Camaro from the Brothers Collection, and Charley Lillard fills us in on what made these cars so special. I really liked the guy he was real good with all of the book codes. He knows all of the little stuff like the door tags.
Good interview great car!
other than early Trans Am's (the '69 model in particular) Yenko Camaro's were the epitome of the F-car bodystyle.
Beautiful 68 yenko id love to see a 67 yenko my favorite yr .
69 COPO 427 SLEEPER.
I never want to actual hate. I just dislike anyone who would thumbs down this video. O-Well.
How the hell can someone not like this car??? Im a Ford guy and I would take this car over ANY Mustang of that era. Always felt like Ford was really stingy with their high performance engines in passenger cars compared to other manufacturers like Dodge, Plymouth, and Pontiac. But Ford builds the best trucks BY FAR and it's not even close. Chevy's Vortec EFI setup is total junk and Dodge trucks have transmission problems from the time they are new
Camaro Z/28 302 cross ram, headers in the trunk from the factory. "NOW" that would pull the "S" off Superman's chest.👉 💪🥲🤤
Love that color and the torque thrust wheels. 💪👍
Those might actually be “ drag masters “ by a company called international. Yenko used them to save costs and mark up the price. I have a set of them and they’re more rare than torque thrust and actually a great quality set of wheels. They are American built
6:23 very true. Any '60s muscle car that's in good shape right now could very well be around for hundreds of years. No one will ever take them to be scrapped.
Yenko Made it Happen👍
Baldwin Motion.
Cool car. I’d drive it as is and love every second of it!
If your see one of these in a lifetime consider your self truly blessed.
Back in 1974. My riding buddy bought a 67 SS 396. The original 396 was swapped out with a 68 Corvette L-88 427 motor along with the M-22 Muncie. The Corvette spun out and married a telephone pole from the doors forward were untouched that's where the motor swap came in. 4 bolts aluminum heads and intake hi flow exhaust maroon on black. pirelli red lines. 60s all around. White SS stripe around the front. The SS hood. Paid. One thousand thirty dollars. And had a fresh Marlboro Maroon paint. Wow what that would be worth today. But who knew Back then what these beautiful muscle cars would bring today. (MIGHT BE OLD BUT GOT TO DRIVE THE BEST AND FASTEST CARS MID 60S TO THE 70 LS-6 CHEVELLE.
They should be driven for what they were built for. I understand they are very valuable, but like he said they get broke you can fix it. Rompin stomping tire burning torque is what they are about. Enjoy it, you aren't gonna be here forever!!!
Scott Savinski sell tht 1 make a clone have plenty of gas and tire money left over 😆
@@wayneprintup5409 I'd rather just build a clone. You can actually drive it around and put mileage on it without worrying about lowering the value of it. If I'm gonna own a car like that it sure as hell isn't just gonna sit in a garage. I'm gonna enjoy it. That's what they were built for
You guys should have ones about the Baldwin-Motion Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, Impala. They are rare ones today.
Love the SS 427 Corvette Baldwin. 67 They all had them cool paint schemes. Plus how they used the L-88 ZL-1 hood and the 67 427 stinger Corvette scoop . And the side pipes.
And the Baldwin motion Vegas, they put big blocks in them
Grew up close to don yenco in canyons burg Washington County, my friend had a1969 427 450hp from him
Absolutely the best.
Just incredible!! Wow!
"Drive it like you stole it!!!"
I did.lol.
was there someone talking because all I heard was the florescent buzz.
Love Them Yenkos
'just caretakers in a moment in our life's time' Drive em don't hide em' too bad most people don't really enjoy these true breed muscle cars and only look at monetary values in today's day and time. . priced some of us right out of the market. Awesome car and a True American muscle machine. All the way with GM today.. Driving the USA in my Chevrolet today.
Bobby Hill interviews Phil Donahue?
Sweet!
Nice car. Lots of imperfections that make it a good restoration. Can't imagine not driving a restoration, but would only drive an original low miles car around the block. A restoration can always be restored again, but I guess this one was a show car that got the owner some trophies and bragging rights.
Thanks MCofW, I learned a lot from this video. First I heard of the 427 short block and the door tag.
Since the factory did many of the modifications, were these cars NHRA legal in the stock classes?
Around the block, why bother. Its just a car. Insure and enjoy
Unless one drives long enough to get the oil hot burn off any condensation get the gear oil up to temp its better not to start it at all.
they added a whole lot more than a short block
robert tallman my 65 camaro had a short block with crome molly muffler bearings
HAHA!!!!
@@philipnaclerio2578 who sold you a 1965 Camaro?
Right drive them!
"ANYONE" who doesn't like A "Y-E-N-K-O" or an aluminum 427 "ZL-1" or a COPO CAMARO. Doesn't understand what a "true" muscle car is. I personally Love a FORD. But if it's "BAD" I don't care what brand it is I Love it. My dream cars R '70 340 SIX PAK Challenger/AAR 'CUDA. A lot people have never even heard of Studebaker "AVANTI". One of the fastest cars U could buy off the showroom floor. Top speed over 150 mph. If the sky is Blue U can't change the color. "Enjoy what U C!" Don't exclude AMC muscle either. Look at the Javelin with the 343. 340 Dodge Demon. 340 Duster. I could sit here tapping on this phone until it blows up naming different muscle cars. I don't discriminate "PARTICIPATE" I LIKE 'EM ALL. Hands down.
Truest option I've heard I'm a Chevy fan but my dad owned a very fast Ford 68 mercury cyclone. GT 428SUPER COBRA JET. IF ITS OLD AND FAST I LOVE IT
My dream car 😭😭😭😭👹
i dont think the dude was indifferent...i read him as toned down and perhaps not the social type.
Charlie is the expert.....
Rathmann Chevrolet , Melbourne , Florida . They at least had them - In the day .
WOW!
I D DRIVE IT and toss the smog crap too !!
4:28 those tires are impecable
Bill Hartley built them all 68 out of any Camero Even customer cars Franks dealership
The hoods did not come with springs. Because if that said fact. He sold them with hood props. An unrestored original one on RUclips proves that
@ 1 min in … it looks like the SS fender badge is upside down. 🤷🏻♂️
Who wouldn't drive it? That's like having a model for a wife and not make love to her! I'd almost trade my kids for it
I have the title , vin-tag, subframes from a 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro that was wrecked beyond repair I bought in 1986. It had no interior, motor, transmission so I sent the body to a junkyard but kept the important stuff.
You could build a rebody car....
And No One knew the Value these Vehicles would have with the limited production they would have with certain interactions.
In 1968 total production was 64 yenkos all camaro... I owned one...
My brother was going to buy a yenco nova. His wife said she'd leave him. So he didn't, bought just a regular nova. Should of bought anyway cause she left years later still. Lol. Was born n raised just a few miles away from yenco Chevrolet in canonsburg pa
Shelby hood!
Anyone know what kind of wheels those are?
American racing torque thrust
I think they're American Racing torq thrust
They should be pontiac rally 2 wheels ...with a center that had a y in it.....but the car was bought at yenko Chev. And they would add things you wanted....
toast for todays cars lol hellcat ZR1 ZO6 Shelby GT 500 todays cars Rule
Guy says door tag his favorite thing on car 🙄
Those pizza cutter rear tires just aren't cutting it. Get it? Pizza cutter.. not cutting it. I kill me.
Mustang and camaro aren't muscle cars. They are sports cars
if in US crazy rich people only can rebuild muscle...for the rustic one they don't really drive on street...public perception like the vin numbers must not match that craft team not attract help to finish the project.
Man that guy seemed to really not want to be there.!
Darren Betker that's just the way he is...actually a nice guy. great since of humor.
He is always like that....
Owner seems tired...
Yenko door tags is what this guy likes? ok...to each their own i guess.
I am a collector and what he means is in 1968 there are intricate details that a 1967 Yenko or 69 did not have. Those intricate details distinguish the 68 and make it more collectible and we like those details.LOL he's not just drooling over a bag of door tags from 68.
That owner seems like he is talking down to everyone and would rather not even be there.
He's actually better than a previous video. At least we actually got a laugh out of him this time! But yes, he should seem more happy to be there, hell I know I would!
Maybe he is uncomfortable on camera.
Your making assumptions. When YOU assume it makes an ASS out of U before ME. Do want him jumping and yelling about? Bozo.
@@TheVenom8343 maybe he's one of the owners of the Brothers collection...he knows Kevin quite well.....
The outgoing geranium phongsaly snow because blizzard neatly excuse behind a handsome octagon. delicious, panicky zephyr
Guy needs a coffee.
I hope the classics are around forever, not so sure they will be with the total pansy ass pieces of shit that we call young men anymore that are not interested in vehicles at all.
color sucks
Then why are you here
It might be fast but it sure is ugly
To each their own………
Love that hood
I can tell that guy owns the car. Is he the older brother or younger brother haha “ I took off the hood springs “ haha
The Brothers must have one heck of a collection, another v cool car
I'm in love with this car.
🙏🙏👏👏
So basically Yanko took over copo. I find it very interesting that all they did was take a base mod car and put a truck engine in it and called it a super car. Nothing special other than you paid for the name back in the day.
An L72 427 definitely isnt just a "truck motor". It's got over 11:1 compression, Solid lifters, and probably 450-460 horses in factory tune. Maybe more.
