Love your work guy! This is Heather K Flanders 'Leather by Heather' I have a long way to go to do this kind of work. Wise there was someone close by to teach.... Blessings to you my friend.
Wheeweee. Talk about a nice looking holster! I can't wait for your next video. Also I would like to request you make a cowboy style holster and belt. When you get enough time.
You do amazing work. Thanks for sharing. Just curious, do you sell your patterns? There is no link, so I suspect not. Anyway, nice work, thanks again for sharing.
I,m just starting to incorporate my laser in with my leather work, how do you get the patterns you use? is it something you came up with? if so what are you useing to draw them I am useing lightburn and can not even start to end up with something like this, mainly the shape of the holster
I make my own designs for the most part. Certain art (the snake on this holster for instance) I purchase from Adobestock. I primarily use Adobe Illustrator for the vector graphics. I only use Lightburn or xTool Creative Space to run the machines.
I really love the possibilities that are endless with the laser. I do have a question though on if it dries out the leather too much. When you do an engraving like in this video does it not burn the leather then crack out when you manipulate late it later?
@@minerblue9641 yeah I’m sure there is a way. I am also into holster production and have dabbled with heat stamping. In order to get a good enough transfer it tends to burn the leather to a point that it becomes incredibly fragile. I’m just curious of how he’s keeps it from cracking out.
@@minerblue9641 also you are burning the leather not just heating it up. Burnt leather doesn’t just heal like live skin would. It is now damaged and looses its playability. I can’t imagine that even simply oiling it would bring enough life back to the burnt areas. Think about it.
I’m a subscriber and I have appreciated your skill and your channel for some time. Having said that; an imperfect hand carved piece is a thing of beauty and skill. A laser engraved anything is as interesting as cold McDonalds hamburger.
I have to agree. Love RAL's work but not the laser. I build guitars and have shied away from CNC's, lasers etc. because of a certain kind of detachment I have with that kind of work.
@@burkhardt7372 Thats because he is using edgekote which is more of an acrylic paint then a dye, so you can slick, burnish and seal the edges and put on a nice coat of edgekote and it will stick.
yep. There will be soot built up around the etching. Especially when going this deep into the leather. I find the air assist increases this. I just use water to wipe it off. You can also run it under a faucet.
I still struggle with using a laser engraver instead of hand work. You absolutely are a talented individual. I just think it takes away from the hand made aspect of the craft
I miss the music, as always a beautiful project and great finishing technique, and the lack of music didn't stop me from watching the whole video thanks again.
My thoughts are that both technically and artistically, there's as much skill required to design and implement a piece like this as anything else. It's definitely not a "push-button, output leatherwork" thing ... although I may edit the videos to appear that way ;-).
@@RoadAgentLeather While I knew it wasn't "push button", I never fully understood the amount of time it took to get a decent looking file to (in my case) print. I spent hours(!) designing a crankbait fishing lure for my 3D printer. Thankfully it worked like I wanted when I was done!
I need to get me one of these lasers! Another excellent looking holster!
Masterful use of the gel antique and paint! Looks amazing
Brother I really admire your work. You do an awesome job. Thank you
I appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Technology ain't always bad. That is cool as ice.
id definitely wear this holster if it was left handed this is awesome

AWESOME!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HOLSTER.
Thanks!
Always love to see one of your videos! Great work!
Beautiful work as always. Thank you for sharing! Walter
Badass!! I’d love to have you make me a holster and gun belt.
That is some beautiful work
Absolutely beautiful. Great work.
It’s beautiful, I’m sure it will be worn with pride!
NOW THAT IS WAY COOL !!!! Especially since 1911 platforms are my favorite.
Where can I get one just like that ??
Ricky from IBM
Nice Chuy’s t-shirt.
Gorgeous holster
Fantástico trabajo ! Una obra de arte!!
How can I order one of these amazing holsters?
Anyway you can do a video on how to make the holster by hand without any lasers?
Hi! Have you checked out my channel's main page? I have lots of holster videos from before I even had a laser.
Wheeweee. Talk about a nice looking holster!
I can't wait for your next video.
Also I would like to request you make a cowboy style holster and belt. When you get enough time.
I am also in The Great State of Texas. How do I go about ordering an item from you Sir?
Just love your work !
As usual perfect but would be hard to get a full grip

Magnífico seus vídeos. Acima da perfeição.
Stunning
Thank you! 😊
Man that turned out beautifully... 👍🏽👍🏽
Wicked awesome!

Awesome 👍👍 I have a 5" 1911 with a red Dot site wow I will have to keep wishing 😊
Thanks for watching!

I'm not the video maker. But I'm sure you could figure out how to oil the leather to make it last about 20 years or longer. Think about it.

Can you make an Arkansas styled holster like this? For SA Garrison 1911 45
Beautiful work as always!
Do you sell patterns at all?
Very nice work 👏
Awesome work. Also, I seem to be the only one that noticed the Chuy’s Juan Solo shirt lol
Good eye! My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant
@@RoadAgentLeather Love it! The nearest one to me (I’m in Florida) is 40 miles away lol
Beautiful work, atb John
Would you be willing to do a video regarding what laser you use and how you have it setup?
Hi. Check out the video I posted before this one!
@@RoadAgentLeather Tokonole then dye the edge? How?
@@RoadAgentLeather You sure did - I'm so sorry I missed it. Thanks, I'll check it out!

Is there any reason you hand sew the holster, other than it might be too thick for your machine??
I usually saddle stitch the main seam by hand for maximum strength and durability.
Are you cleaning the ash/soot with water and oiling it after the leather dries?
Very impressive. Only been with this channel for a little bit but all your videos, outstanding
Top shelf, outstanding, over the top. Can I say more?
Hey, I’m really like what are you doing? You make coasters for can you make holsters for Glocks?
Awesome!
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching!
Do you sell these holsters?
Hi! Unfortunately I don't currently offer this holster for sale.
How do you resolved the problem with engrave on leather? I lose this dark effect, and engrave become white, instead of being stay black?
I see I’m not the only one who uses their finger as a glue spreader.
I don't have to dig around in a drawer or search my table for my fingers. Thanks for subscribing!
The best one yet ! Always enjoy watching your videos , would you lazer a project I'm working on if I mailed it to you by chance ?
Love your work. I have 1 question every time I see you dye your leather how do you prevent from leaving streak marks on your leather?
He cuts a lot of his dye with alcohol. It thins out the dye and makes it go on more evenly
This is what RUclips was created for!
Good lord that gorgeous! It should be against the law to NOT open carry with that rig!
Thanks for watching!
Saludos muy buen trabajo 👍👍👍
Super work! I use a laser also on my holsters. What program do you do your design with?
did you just use water and a sponge to clean it after engraving?
yep. There will be soot built up around the etching. Especially when going this deep into the leather. I find the air assist increases this. I just use water to wipe it off. You can also run it under a faucet.
Can i order

It's beautiful but it's not fair you have an engraver to the work LOL
Once I saw the laser engraving this video got a whole lot less cool
Thanks for watching anyway!
It's not crafting if a computer does all of it for you
What if you're the one crafting what the computer does?
I miss the music, as always a beautiful project and great finishing technique, and the lack of music didn't stop me from watching the whole video thanks again.
As a business I guess can understand using modern tech but personally, nah. There's no soul in the finished product at all.

just a high tech version of cheap Mexican border town leather goods
Please make an identical copy so we can see how to do it properly.
This is cool as shit, now I want one for my pdp😩🫡
