  • Full tutorial build video on how to craft the Hellhound Statesman holster for 1911. This holster build walkthrough is intended for those with an intermediate skillset in leathercraft.
We use a 10oz full grain veg tan saddle skirt sourced from Wickett&Craig. We line our holsters in a 2oz leather of the same.

"I like to use this little tool; I dunno' what it's called or where I got it from" Haha, too good. My Hellhound EDC holster looks just like the one Gavin made there, and it's by far the best holster I've ever had. Thanks for the instruction, Gavin!

You should give it a go! Honestly the hardest part of holster making is the pattern/fit and building up a library of patterns for the million different makes/models/sizes/modifications of all the different guns. Huge headache, actually would not recommend as a business model hahah
But as a hobby? Crafting holsters for yourself, friends and family? Nothing better. :)

A belt clip on style would be awesome. I literally hate having to feed my belt thru loops when it’s NOT NECESSARY

Thats an old hook/trimming knife that I picked up at Tandy about 15 years ago. I think they still sell something similar (tandyleather.com/products/tandypro-tools-precision-knife?_pos=22&_sid=533813187&_ss=r) but I'm not sure if its any good...the handle is different and I doubt its as comfortable as my old one.
After a quick search, Weaver has a similar one: www.weaverleathersupply.com/products/craftsman-trimming-knife?variant=40901399314572&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-pyqBhDmARIsAKd9XIMzXZiKy9XdC-2yOIVOfZBlL5jGh3FuQxr4tl7n1S9srgqmeh8FF-IaAj_CEALw_wcB

You look like you do decent work. But you should never say. Just don't care anymore when you're referring to your own work makes you look bad.

Oh heck. There ain't none of us leather crafters that make any mistakes like not flipping out pattern.🤣

What kinda knife are you using to cut the leather?
