Focus On The Family heavily lobbies against LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, sex education, etc. How come you decided to include a hate group in your list of tips?
Michel your mum is the most sweetest person such a joy to watch & listen to 💕 Yes please maybe do the same with your Dad. Be interesting to hear him . Just love your special bond you all have. , have a Great week 🥰
Loved your vlog with your Mom who is a model parent. You were raised well and it shows. Thank you for being honest and for showing the good and the not so good aspects of life.
Focus on the family is a known organization that has funded millions of dollars into anti-lgbtq+ organizations. I’m not sure if you are aware and obvi your opinions are your own to have but just in case!
The pain and anger in your moms eyes when you said, “It took someone throwing a hammer at me to realize it” 🥺 We’re all so happy you’re in a happy, healthy, and loving relationship now.
Yes I teared up at your mum's reaction 😢 she's a great mum and although I wished you has listened to her about your ex I feel that maybe you went through this experience to find the true and best love that you have now with Jordy 💖
A book or movie nerd may wonder if there is symbolism in your outfits. One of you is wearing a white shirt with a black vest. The other is wearing a black shirt with a white vest.
I think this video and the Q+A with your Dad are probably my favourite videos on your channel 🥰🥰 they are just sweet, genuine, loving people whose authenticity shines through the screen. They are absolutely the kind of parents I want to be!!!!
I have literally never just had a casual conversation with my mom...about life, about anything. The dynamic with my parents was very much that my existence was to make their life easier by doing things for them - cooking, cleaning, watching my siblings etc. My feelings were never a consideration. I love watching you and your mom interact. It shows me that it is possible to have a healthy relationship between parents and children
Hi Michel and Mama Janse, Thank You for this wonderful Q & A!! I am really touched by your relationship. God bless you both. Love and greetings from Canada.
No joke, just as I started watching this video I knew that I would gain some knowledge of how to be a good mom one day to my future child (hopefully daughter lol). I was right. Your mom created one of the most relatable, kind, vulnerable, beautiful, and hilarious youtubers that I have come across. Also, your mom's advice about springing on plans to kids last minute to make you look more fun and spontaneous was SO helpful LOL! Thank you both for this video.
Parenting is hard - no doubt about it. But, I agree with your mom that it is so fun to see your children’s life unfold and the things you get to do through them. I have gone places, gone to events and had many life experiences because of where my children lived, studied, worked and who are their friends.
Your Mom is just the sweetest! My baby sister had often wished we had recorded some of our Mom’s stories about her growing up. Now I’m wishing I had recorded more of us theee sisters on our little things we had done together as they are both no longer here. I am thankful I still have my one sister to chat and hang with every couple of years. Your Mom is just the best for doing this and sharing with us a little more about you and your younger self. It’s tough parenting and watching your child (adult child) deal with heartbreak and mental health issues❤️ Kudos to Momma Janse for being such a sport. Sending you both loads of love and hugs ❤️
If you don’t mind me asking I was wondering how old your parents were when they had you? My mom was 45 and my dad was 40. So it’s interesting to see other families with older parents:)
I love mama Janse! 🥰 Honestly, I wasn't super excited to watch this one because I don't have kids or anything, but didn't want to not watch it either. Man, I could listen to her advice all day. I love that she wasn't ashamed of reading books/trying to learn how to raise kids. It shows that she genuinely wanted to do a good job as a parent, which is evident by both you and your sister. Btw, your mom and sister have the same laugh! It's adorable!
Love your mom! Although not trying to be rude but the dog was really distracting 😅 it looked like he was trying to jump down the whole time but you were holding on to him!!
I too went through infertility. We were married 6 years before kids. Their is also 7 years between my daughters bc of infertility. I had 2 miscarriages as well. It was very hard and raw pain at times but I feel in hindsight that maybe I went through it to help some other friends in the last few years. I wouldn't wish infertility on anyone bc its so so hard and emotionally draining but I'm glad I could be a sense of support to others so they had support like I did. You and your mom were great!! 💜
Loved seeing and hearing from your mama ☺️ Definitely thought she looked beautiful 💕💕 I believe when you know your mom loves you, as an adult friendship comes so naturally. It’s like a joy to call my mom and chat or run errand’s together. I married at 25 and just had my first baby, now at 29 I greatly value my moms company and friendship.
I lost it when I saw your mom react about the hammer. I grew up in an environment like that. I witnessed much of the abuse my dad inflicted on my mom. I hate those memories but I am also grateful to have been shown firsthand all of the red flags to look for. I worry about how I would convey that to my future kids (if i have any) because they don't have an example but hopefully telling them about it would be strong enough for them to know to get away at the first sign and hopefully having a loving spouse would show them how they should be treated in a relationship. It wasn't until high school that I internalized everything. Like as a kid I was like x happened, y happened, but then in high school I was like wow those things were not normal experiences.
Wow...Michel when you said you had a hammer thrown at you it brought me back to my marriage. The same thing happened to me. I was in a very abusive marriage for 11 yrs. I am so proud of how far you have come. Love you Michel & pray for you daily!!!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Really enjoyed getting to know "Momma Janse" a little more, you can see the love she has for her family! Also how Thankful she is that you are out of a marriage that was not at all good for you & maybe not so safe! ❤
Love mama Janse. I know the pain of watching your child go through a divorce. You wish you could do it for them and spare them the pain. Would love more sit downs q&a's. Thank you both.
I agree with your Mom on not paying for chores. My oldest, I did not pay either and for the longest time I always was asked how come he couldnt have money like everyone else. Now that he's grown and has his own place it funny to hear all the pride he has to keep up with all the normal chores.
21:02 okay to be fair, if your mom didnt say anything, that is kind of fair. Because if she did say anything that could’ve potentially pushed you deeper into the relationship. In one of my worst relationships, my mom didnt say anything. And it was a blessing because I would’ve acted in rebellion if she said something against it. But it was able to just see it myself and realize wtf did i get myself into
Michel, your mom is such a lovely and smart lady. Such a good mom. You really are lucky with your parents. Thats grate! Happy birthday momma Janse. ❤️🎉🎂
Mama Janse you are GREAT on the spot and we all are always so blessed by you! ❤ Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us and for loving Michel and your family so well. The world needs more people like you all!
My parents did the same thing with me and my sisters as kids. We did not get paid to do chores... why would you get paid for something that you should be doing anyways to learn how to be a clean human... but if we wanted to earn money there was other things we could do to earn money..... it's nice to know other people experienced the same as me. Love the video!
Your mom is so lovely. She is so sensible, calm and caring. Very serene. I am in awe of how she is so wise and makes things look easy. You are so lucky to have such a great mom and I have to say a great dad too. Bless her doing this for you and for us to see and hear. Thank her for us 👏
The hurt and pain you feel as a mum is so intense. I'm only 2 years in but already a surprising amount resonates. My daughter had anaphylaxis and seeing her go through that, I wish I could take it from her. The thought of her going through what you went through Michel, I can't imagine.
This was such a sweet video. I love mama janse. My sisters and I were raised very similar to you and your sister. I am currently going through an infertility journey and just needed to hear that it will happen at the right time. Love all you videos Michel.
This was such a great video! Great advice on all fronts! You and your family are so blessed. And your mother is so intelligent when it comes to parenting. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Mama Janse (from this 51-year old Mama who lost her Mama when I was 20 yrs old). I have a 19-year old daughter and we have always had a close bond. I agree with so much of what you’ve said. Be interested in what they are interested in. Let them lead. Love them exactly as they are! Listen & be present. As my daughter struggled through her teen years I always regrouped and approached from a place of kindness…seems simple, but it takes intention. I reminded myself, and still do, that I am building a person. I’ve definitely been a spontaneous parent….why the heck not? I watched my Dad lose his wife/my mama (love of his life & mother of their four daughters) to ALS and then had to watch him also lose my youngest sister to ALS. I know how I felt with those losses, but watching his sorrow changed me forever. I understand wanting to take on someone’s pain for them. Michel, thank you for sharing your Mom with us! 😘
The way you look at your mom reminds me of me and my mom. I am about to turn 55 and she turned 81 and i feel so blessed enjoy this beautiful relationship. Also mom did great 👍
I enjoyed watching this 🥹 I have been working on my relationship with my mom the past couple of years now. It's beautiful to see you and your mom able to have these conversations (on camera no less).
Focus On The Family heavily lobbies against LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, sex education, etc. How come you decided to include a hate group in your list of tips?
*face palm*
I was so shocked and disappointed to see Michel promote this fundamentalist hategroup on her platform. WTF?! Really says something about her values
Y’all realize Christians dont support LGBTQ, abortion etc right? This shouldn’t be shocking or disappointing
Michel your mum is the most sweetest person such a joy to watch & listen to 💕
Yes please maybe do the same with your Dad. Be interesting to hear him .
Just love your special bond you all have. , have a Great week 🥰
"The big picture is beautiful." Wow - so inspired by that statement!
Loved your vlog with your Mom who is a model parent. You were raised well and it shows.
Thank you for being honest and for showing the good and the not so good aspects of life.
Super good video, I loved to hear your mom advice very interesting!!!
Thank you both for this lovely video! Loved hearing all mama Janses answers.
Love Mama Janse

I instantly had tears when I noticed her mom's reaction. God bless you both 🙏

Wow! It is amazing to see a real mom who truly loves and cares for her child!

Love Mama Janse
You should do this with your dad if he’s willing
"Let kids take you where they take you."
I love this quote!! Thank you Mama Janse for something to remember when raising my son :)
your mom is so genuine!! excited to watch this 🥲🤍
Mama Janse is a beautiful soul inside and out. You can see her kind heart and wisdom shining through. Xx

Mama Janse is so sweet. I envy your relationship. Not everyone can say that their mom is a best friend. 🧡🧡
Your mom is stunning and so wise. Papa janse is a very lucky guy haha♥️
I sat by your sweet mom yesterday at a painting party and she told me about you! She’s so proud and amazed by you!!
Your mother is stunning, classy, and strong.
Love your mom! Although not trying to be rude but the dog was really distracting 😅 it looked like he was trying to jump down the whole time but you were holding on to him!!
It seems like being in social media will make you resilient to your future teenagers’ sassy comments!
