Yes!! Every time I tell people I have never been drunk it’s like mind boggling to them. I just don’t like the feeling of not being in full control of myself. I will have a drink every few months maybe if I’m out to a nice dinner or something and that’s plenty for me. Honestly I just really love water 😂 water is always my go to. Refreshing!

I don't think its wierd that you don't drink. My husband has never had a drink and he's 48. His dad was an alcoholic and he decided at a very young age that drinking was not for him. I do drink occasionally, but I never feel that great after, even if it's just a glass of wine. I totally agree about the food too. I would much rather eat more food than have a drink. 100%.

I know you say you’re very “type A” 😊, but I just want to mention how proud I am of you for loosening up on your grip with emails and work and structure and allowing more time for yourself to live. (subscribed for about 3 years now so I’ve def seen this transition). I know this season is hard and bittersweet (I’ve been in your shoes), but, coming from someone who is years out of that season, the growth you will witness in yourself after a few years you will genuinely cry at how thankful you are for the way you’re life ended up. Life has a funny way of tearing us apart and molding us into someone we are so thankful to be and wouldn’t have ever met this future version of you without heartbreak and losses. I started drinking at 27 (aka a year and a half ago). I already had all of my seven kids and I had just gotten my Master’s, my twins had just self-weaned so I tried it, I liked it and now I do the occasional Margarita. My point, you can do whatever makes you happy and fulfills you. As long as you’re not hurting anyone, as in actually hurts them, you do you! 💗

Love your thoughts on drinking! I'm in my late 30's and don't drink. Just don't need it, it's so expensive and definitely not healthy. My husband is the same. You have been through so much and if you haven't had the urge to drink, you should be ok! It doesn't make life go away. It makes you stronger dealing with problems without "help". 🙂

You and your mom reminds me of me and our oldest son. I wasn't crazy, straight As, never touched drugs, but I've had fun and while never a heavy or frequent drinker, I've had some fun nights. My son is extremely straight laced, doesn't drink, smoke, etc. I think he sipped a half a beer at a wedding once, not liking it, but just never had interest. I'll feel tipsy having 1 or 2 glasses of wine, and he acts like that is hard partying, which cracks me up, wondering how are you the child? Throwing up drunk, yes I've done that (well when I got home with my husband) and that is miserable and not worth it, but usually you learn how to drink responsibly and hopefully that overdrinking ends by early 20s for most people. Last time I've had a hangover was the mid 1990s.
Hear me out. Michel goes on the bachelor and is so endearing and relatable she becomes a fan favorite and makes it at minimum to hometowns because we gotta see the fam on the bachelor too! She self eliminates before fantasy suites because girl has high standards and ain't going there. She shines on the women tell all and gains the most Instagram followers of any contestant of the season, on ATFR it's announced she's the next Bachelorette!!!! I'd watch the heck outta that!

I don't like how it makes me physically feel so honestly I really abstain from it as a whole. I was always the "odd" one from my group of friends because I didn't follow the drinking teen/young adult years. To each their own, right? I don't drink, either. My ex-husband was a horrible influence on me when I was very young and we drank a lot. Once I realised I really hated it (and it gave me migraines!) I stopped and never looked back. I have no desire to drink, and I don't even care about mocktails. I find other people, especially in winter in Michigan, get really uncomfortable when I say I don't drink. I'm happy to go to a bar, I even worked in a few as a college student - but something about being around someone who chooses not to drink seems to trigger all sort of feelings in other people. 🤷♀ Do you experience the same reactions from others when you don't drink?

I’m 30 now and I didn’t drink until I was 22 and by 26 I had only drank like 5 times. But now I drink a little socially but I don’t usually finish my drinks either and I personally think it tastes gross. My dad and my aunt are alcoholics and so I don’t want to be. But even in college I didn’t drink much because it was a money thing and I didn’t want to go to out either.
I have gotten away from alcohol because I realized i don't get much out of it, I just feel dehydrated haha and zero proof seems to be gaining popularity which I'm here for!

I'm kinda in a similar single situation as you but my fiance passed away. I took my first solo trip since being single and it was amazing. I am definitely doing that again. Felt so freeing to be on my own time. I would encourage you to try a solo trip alone. As you mentioned in the video going to the movies and dinner are baby steps. Def try them as well. My first time going to dinner by myself felt weird. I was your age but then I started to not care. I'm 30 now and living life for me. I wish you well in your new journey at life. BTW I love the music In this vlog.

In high school, I only hung out with my friends during school and I didn't make any in college. I'm kinda in a similar single situation as you but my fiance passed away. I took my first solo trip since being single and it was amazing. I am definitely doing that again. Felt so freeing to be on my own time. I would encourage you to try a solo trip alone. As you mentioned in the video going to the movies and dinner are baby steps. Def try them as well. My first time going to dinner by myself felt weird. I was your age but then I started to not care. I'm 30 now and living life for me. I wish you well in your new journey at life. BTW I love the music In this vlog.

Only Murders in the Building is such a good show. At first, I didn't really like Selena Gomez's acting, but I quickly got over it. I'm the same way with drinking. In high school, I only hung out with my friends during school and I didn't make any in college. I always thought that when I'd turned 21 I would buy alcohol, but that was almost 7 years ago and I don't want to try alcohol anyway.
