I had thanksgiving shortly after my long-term relationship ended, and my siblings were there with their partners and kids. I sat with my mom for a few minutes and just cried because even though I was with family, it was the realization that things were different. It gets easier with time though. Try to focus o n creating new memories with your family. Love ya girl!
I remember when I realized my husband was ending our marriage I went to the grocery store with my aunt and all I could do was follow her. I couldn’t make any decisions at all about what to buy. You’re not along in your struggle, it’s part of grief. It does get better though. ❤️
I feel you on how sad you’re feeling during the holidays. I get severe anxiety since the past four Christmases have been awful but I’m hoping to somehow make it special for my teen and I despite it only being us. It is a roller coaster, the first ones are painful, but your family is so supportive which is amazing, you’ll get through this darkness season, be kind to yourself, rest and do what you enjoy. The pain doesn’t last forever, but that doesn’t stop when it hurts. I just wish I could give you a hug and talk about our experiences, but I really hope you realise how sharing this journey with the good and bad, it shows your honesty despite the fact it must be hard sharing vulnerable moments to so many of us, but as a fellow struggling human, we all support you and love you. 💜

I never married and for a period of several years, I lived far from any family, and resources didn’t allow me to travel. I’ve spent my fair share of holidays by myself, so I know how hard it can be at holiday time. I also have a sister and a brother. But we are all your moms age.

I'm almost 65...from a large family and am a widow too. I so get the sad feelings on the holidays. Try my hardest not to think about it. My mom was a Christmas angel in my heart and eyes...I miss my parents so very much, lost a brother last year too. Once mom passed away the family drifted apart. Nobody liked my husband and that pushed them further away...tears are always a part of the holidays nowadays. Nope don't hear from but one sister anymore. Can't because they still try to run my life. I really should start new memories, yes that's what I'm going to do.😊 Find cheer where ever I can. Sigh should say it gets better with time, but for me it hasn't. I am praying for you. I went through exactly what you went through only I had a six-month-old at the time. I will not lie to you and say that it’s easy because it is very very hard. Some days you feel like your heart will not mend. But then a month ago by and another month and then a year and before you know it you will start to feel better. There may still be days that are hard but it does get easier. Hang in there keep your head up and continue spending time with your family they are what will help get you through the rough days.
You are right about loving the Texas videos. I started watching relatively recently and looked for the Texas ones as they were so fun. Was happy to see you move back. Not the expected circumstances of course but I love that you just say when you are not ok but have the foresight to know that doesn't mean phooey about the next day. Just takes time to realise our life is not taking the path we had assumed it would for so long. Bit of a shock to the system. Have to laugh when glassons shows up in a video, they have been around forever as a shop in New Zealand, I have made some horrific decisions in that shop.

Allow yourself enough time to grieve. You have lost someone who's been a big part of your adult life. I lost my mom almost 4 months ago and the tears just sneak up on you out of the blue. Just live in the moment and let you're heart feel what it needs to feel and then put one foot in front of the other. Allow yourself enough time to grieve. You have lost someone who's been a big part of your adult life. I lost my mom almost 4 months ago and the tears just sneak up on you out of the blue. Just live in the moment and let you're heart feel what it needs to feel and then put one foot in front of the other. There is no set time as to when you "should" feel better just take each moment as it comes. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
