    I have a really low cervix in the beginning of my period, but can go to high cervix in the end. I’ve tried a Lot of cups because I needed a low cervix cup, but also one for a very heavy flow, then, add pressure on my bladder, so, a soft cup. I finally found the disks. I started with Lumma because they have diff sizes. I’ve had kids, so I found the sizing off witch most sizes from company’s are always a little off. I was so happy that found something that finally worked with no faults. Except, that it has a very firm ring. I now use my nixit. It soft, molds to your body, doesn’t make me have any kind of bladder issues and holds quite a lot because I have a very very heavy flow. This is probably over sharing, but I wanted to stress it been discouraging at times and I found something finally that works. And if u have issues and don’t Mind seeing your own blood the disk is so awesome and fast!

    I'm SO glad you talked about cervix dipping for cup recommendations!!!
    No one talks about it yet it's the only way I can get a cup in comfortably so it's a major point for my cup choice.
    As a teen I literally couldn't understand how to insert tampons,
    my health teacher thought I was nuts and was extremely concerned when I told her that "The tampons really hurt and don't even work because the blood completely misses the tampon and goes straight to my pad, Idk what I'm doing wrong!"
    (from the tampon sitting beside my cervix, it put painful pressure on my cervix but also since it's above the cervix's hole the blood completely bypassed the tampon)
    The advice she gave me was to study a anatomy diagram... I think she thought I must be putting it up my butt 🤦
    I was gutted that there was no "fix" for my problem and I constantly had to sit out swimming classes and most exercise during my period... well into my 20s when I discovered cups.
    Cups are a lifesaver as a adult but I really wish our education system was better and covered these sorts of issues so that educators actually knew what they were talking about too, I missed out on so many activities as a teen because if my troublesome cervix which could've so easily been fixed by education on other period options to try and how cervixes work.

      I totally understand you. I have had periods since I was 9 and it really ruined my childhood because there weren't options yet to have my cycle and continue with my activities. My mom thought tampons were bad, like touching over there was impure or non hygienic. When I tried my menstrual cup at 25 I cried. I wish there wasn't any little girl in the world who doesn't know their options or it is judged for what they choose to use. 😞

      ....I don't know what cervix dipping means. Also omg...i have that same problem with tampons and still don't really understand why. It could be what ur saying but I don't know....like is it putting it in too far? I dk tbh I have a ton of issues no matter what I use it seems. I think my cervix is high because If I don't get a cup with a super long stem then I struggle to get it out. But the tampon thing has always driven me nuts!! It just like....goes down the side. The tampon won't be used like at all yet I'm having leaks. Help lol. I've been obsessed with finding the right cup; tried Diva, then Merual, then Hello, and just got my bloody buddy. I learned that a super firm cup is what I needed, but also something for a low cervix because it changes during my menses. I've just finished using the Hello low cervix cup-purchased after watching your review-and it was great! Like, FINALLY! Merual refused to open for me; it seemed to open after I'd been sitting for a bit (weird, and not quickly enough). I haven't used the bloody buddy yet, but it's nice and firm as well like the Hello cup. I'm child free, over 35, and small but firm works very well.

    I do have a extremely low cervix, I have an ecoblossom small disc, when everything goes well it is amazing, but due to my extremely low cervix, sometimes it is hard to keep it is place and it can dislodge causing leakage. When I am home that is my go to, but for a matter of precaution, when I leave, I definitely just use regular tampons. It is pretty great to sleep to, i havent had any accidents during bed time.

    Low cervix gal here. Sometimes it is medium but not everyday of my period. I've tried the nixit cup and it will not fit. It is too soft and there isn't room in there. I really like the merula cup os. I insert it with the push down fold and with the fold facing down. So that when the cup opens, it's not opening on my cervix weird and having a better seal. i have tried the lumma small medium and large. most days the small is the best choice. once i was able to use the large but that was it. haven't been able to use since. Now every once and a while I'll be able to use the medium lumma disc. However, if I am at all constipated or haven't gone #2 in a few days, then the medium won't fit comfortably. That's why lumma disc small is the best disc to use. However, with the lumma disc small, the capacity is not ideal for heavy days in my opinion. That's why I like my merula disc. But again, if I haven't gone #2 in a few days (curse my digestive system), then the merula cup doesn't fit very well. Then at that point I either use the small disc and period undies or just period undies. Modi bodi period undies are my favorite. I will also say that using a bidet for menstrual cup clean up down there is super nice. I have a portable one and the attachment hose. If I chose to use the menstrual disc, i have a back up reusable "pad" from Amazon. But so far with the bidet and better cups, those pads are used because I'm too lazy to get "residue" out from my underwear because there is almost always residue.

    I have only had success with the femmy cycle low cervix. If you squeeze a bit they don’t suction. I need a cup heavy enough to hold my super heavy flow and not shoot out due to having 3 kids and a bit of weakness. I’ve tried discs and many other cups had them ALL pop out and make a mess- sometimes in public. So the femmy isn’t perfect- but it’s been a huge blessing and life changer for me! Low cervix, very heavy flow. You should at least try it. I’ve never had it suction- and it’s much softer than my meluna on my urethra.
    Can you update with the discs? As it’s been 2 years. Would love more low cervix specific videos! 😭

      You will want to wait until your first postpartum period before using anything internally again. I'd wait and try the cup you already use, if it slips during wear or doesn't want to insert as high as it used to a wider diameter/short cup might be needed. Your uterus sometimes is a bit lower after a pregnancy and goes back into place over many months or a year. Hope that helps

    I have a low cervix and I have the Merula OS, I haven’t tried it while I’m on my period and only practiced with it recently. Today I actually might have my period soon as my cervix is lower than it already is, normally I’m at a 40mm but I go even lower 🥲, i guess my cervix will win at a limbo game.
    I could feel it but not as much as I expected. (Its comfortable!) The bottom of the cup also kinda shows when Im at my lowest and I tend to try and feel around if I got it in correctly.
    Does any one of you think a disc would be a good option for me instead?
    Do note that this isn’t to scare you from trying the Merula, it might not just be for me, sadly. I would recommend this to other people with low cervix like me, especially if you tend to have a heavy flow. If you feel any discomfort, cut the stem as it may be one of the reasons why it’s causing that feeling.

    I knew there was a reason that my cora cup was the only cup i could use after i had my son. I had to go back to using pads and tampons. It's driving me crazy cups were the only thing that ever worked for me because of my body shape. TMI I was actually a virgin so I had JUST bought the smallest Cora cup when my husband and I got married so i had just bought the smallest one. I never got to use it till after i had my son and was like "oh no, now this is too small now" so I'm desperately trying to figure out my body so i can go back to using a cup because i can't use tampons and pads just never work. Cups have me the ability to not feel like I've got leprosy on my period. The fear of going to the store or moving certain ways was gone plus it got rid of cramps after a month or two of use. I have to find one.

    I have a problem with using my cup, in that I can’t figure out if I have a normal or high cervix. I have tried using a finger to feel it but I can never reach it, however, I have really short fingers/tiny hands, which are shorter than what seems to be considered the minimum for a high cervix. So I’ve tried two different cups - the Lily cup and the saalt soft. Both have had mixed results. Sometimes the lily feels like it’s sitting too low and won’t go any higher so I’m assuming that means it’s too long for where my cervix is, but the saalt sometimes goes so high up there that I can barely reach it to get it back out and it takes a lot of manoeuvring to get it to come down where I can pinch the base. Is there anything I can do to help this? I’ve thought about trying the flexcup since I wouldn’t have to pinch the base to get it to come lower down, but I’m in the UK and it’s so expensive to get it shipped here. I’m also an idiot and ordered a nixit without thinking it through and I just know I won’t be able to use it, though I will try. Any help at all would be amazing!

      Do you really not have any fingers as long as 4cm? for context 4cm is like... less than the height of a shot glass.
      I don't think your fingers could actually be that short unless you have dwarfism or have a birth defect where all your fingers are missing the last segment or two like my aunt has.
      Not to be rude but I'm just thinking maybe you misread the height as being in inches not cm.
      If your fingers really are that short you can feel for it using something else, a toy? a tampon applicator? something else long, rounded, and not injury inducing... you'll be able to tell if it's the cervix because everything else up in there will squish and give way to pressure from the object but the cervix will be harder and resistant and feel uncomfortable if you knock it too hard... like if i were to describe how firm it is, it's like the end of a unripe banana but everything else feels like a spongy cushion.
      You should also know that cervix height can change over the course of your period and cycle,
      -are you only feeling for your cervix while not on your period? (higher chance of the cervix being high)
      -if not, have you felt for your cervix on every day of your cycle? or only checked on one day near the start/end? your cervix could be moving over the course of your period and you just happen to only be checking for it on a day where it's high.
      This would all explain why despite not feeling your cervix during that one check, you're still experiencing a day where your cervix is so low it forces the cup out.

      @@sagenora6875 I don’t think you’re supposed to push on the cup. Everything you are trying is what you should do to get it IN, not OPEN. If you need to open it up once it’s in, try pushing against your vaginal wall (away from the cup). You want to let a bit of air in so that there’s room for the cup to open up. You are temporarily akin for the space inside bigger so the cup will unfold/open.

    Was looking at the juju model 4 because I had read it could accommodate cervix dripping, the cup I have now is a regular one and it is wide enough at the top for my cervix to fit in but not without it being uncomfortable and causeing cramps as my cervix is 30mm what ever cup I get it's going to dip I think its inevitable. I did try a disk but it wouldn't fit in, it was way to big but maybe a luma small would work? its hard to make a decision when you don't have a lot of money to keep buying them if you pick the wrong one.

    • @loquacious.laconic
      @loquacious.laconic 2 года назад +1

      I have the Juju model 4, and in my case it accommodates cervix dipping quite nicely. For reference my cervix varies from approximately 22mm to 35mm. Maybe 40mm on an extremely rare day.
      Occasionally I get sharp pain for a short time after going number 2 on lowest cervix days, though only if I sit on firm chairs. For me it's not suctioned to my cervix when that happens, it's simply pressing on my cervix when I sit. And to be honest I used to get that pain from sitting even when I used pads. My cervix would be around 22mm when i get that pain. And I've been using Juju model 4 happily for approximately 4 years now.
      Hope that helps, I know how frustrating wasting money on cups can be (tried 6 different ones over the years). Merula suctioned extremely painfully, causing swelling of my cervix. 😳
      Fingers crossed for you. 🤞

I just wish I had known about the low cervix options a few years ago instead of being uncomfortable with my original cup 🤦‍♀️

      I do on my absolute lowest days! It's definitely possible. On those days, I find the Lumma small/short disc works really well, because otherwise I can't even use a cup! As a backup or if I don't feel like the cup or disc are working, I usually have period underwear on or use a reusable pad. But so far Lumma small disc has worked on those days! It's a big relief after struggling for so many cycles.

    Is it okay to let the stem sit outside the body if it’s not causing discomfort?
    My cervix is extremely high on the first few days of my cycle, and very low by the end of my cycle.
    I feel like if I cut the stem off I’ll never be able to retrieve the cup at the start of my period.

    • @PeriodNirvana
      @PeriodNirvana  3 года назад +2

      I'd guess 95% or even more can't stand that feeling which is why I say the stem should be inside. I wager many who have that happen don't know it's not like a tampon and assume their cup is not comfortable. If you don't find it uncomfortable than def keep it!

    Here’s my story for anyone interested. I’m 16 and I have a very low cervix. I’ve tried 2 cups, the saalt small (soft) first which I could never get to open and get in fully without pain so I got a smaller cup, the all matters mini. At first it was pretty good although I was very aware/could feel it, but I really wanted it to work so I kept trying for about 5 months and this month I decided I was done with it because of how much pain, I think the pain was from the cup pressing up against my cervix but I don’t know how to fix it because the cups had no where else to go because of my low cervix. I’m thinking about trying a disc but what do y’all think? Any advice?

    • @AJ-oy5iv
      @AJ-oy5iv Год назад

      I’d say make sure you don’t have any sort of medical problems that could cause pain. Maybe try using the all matters cup inside out. It makes it a little shorter.
